I Doubt That, Lindsey
Lindsey Graham is certain, just certain, that Benghazi is going to be the Democrat downfall in 2014.
“I think Democrats are gonna have to start making President Obama account for his leadership. Where was he that night? Did he know it was a terrorist attack? Why did he say for two weeks we think it was a protest? How could he have done that?”
Well, that might be more believable if ….
One interesting thing about the voters who think Benghazi is the biggest political scandal in American history is that 39% of them don’t actually know where it is. 10% think it’s in Egypt, 9% in Iran, 6% in Cuba, 5% in Syria, 4% in Iraq, and 1% each in North Korea and Liberia with 4% not willing to venture a guess.
And then Public Policy Polling jumps in, too.
The poll also showed most Americans trust Hillary Clinton over Republicans on Benghazi, by a 49-39 margin.
Thanks to TexasTrailerParkTrash for the heads up.
Keep in mind that Senator Graham thought that President Clinton has committed an impeachable offence and gained national attention by keeping the pot boiling.
1“Where was he that night?”
So Graham is now hinting that President Obama is to blame because he was somewhere other than Benghazi that night?
I hope the GOP does double-down on the Benghazi issue in 2014. The already have all the rabid voters who would care and they are missing the chance to reach out on issues that Independents care about.
2Doubt that diplomacy is totally different than the military, in that the on scene commander has the final say on security matters. Problem for most Americans is that we are not inclined to criticize the dead, and Ambassador Stevens was a very popular man. But from the snippets of the report being read, he refused military aid and wanted ‘local’ support. Seems he died being a nice guy and was trying to be the best ambassador by truly appreciating the locals.
No scandal here. Move on L. Beauregard Graham.
3I am unspeakably tired of Republicans blaming Obama for the consequences of their own stupidity. They’re the ones who cut funding for embassy security, but they seem to think that shouldn’t have made any difference in the amount of security provided for embassies. What the hell did they expect?
4mygawd, lindsey, go home and re-arrange the paper flowers!
5Good heavens, have they not beat that poor dead horse into GLUE by now?! *yawwwwnnnnn*
6They all know damn good and well that it was a CIA operation and that nobody who was in the loop can say a word.
Issa and Lindsey will keep on beating until they are dead. They have nothing to lose.
7Do you recall the debate between Romney and Obama when Mitt the Twit insisted that it took Barack 2 weeks to declare the Benghazi attack as a terrorist attack? President Obama asked the moderator of that so-called debate if they had the transcript that stated that he immediately called it a “terrorist attack” … the transcript was read and Romney’s face went to blank quicker then usual.
8Did you see Jon Stewart’s segment last night going after Ms. Lindsey Graham … I love it when Jon does his impersonation of Ms. Lindsey … Gives me a really good laugh before heading off to bed!!
Sad decline. You can hear Graham’s arteries hardening from here. Even worse are the media squirrels who repeat this pathetic drivel.
9here is a link to Jon schooling Ms Lindsey

10Look at the picture of Lindsey again, y’all. Now, I’ll be kind and suggest he’s gesturing the size of his intellect. Some people might have a lower opinion. /snark
11Benghazi v. 9/11 / Iraq War. Only in the puppy-love-addled mind of Mrs. John McCain (and 50 million tea-baggers) is the former the worst foreign policy disaster evah and the latter were brilliant national security strategeries.
12I think wingnuts are gonna have to start asking rethuglicans why after all these years, wingnuts keep saying Obama was born in Kenya.
13From 2002 to 2008, 31 people were killed in US embassies in Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Yemen. All on Dubya’s watch.
Did we see any GOP outrage about them? No, we did not.
Not to mention a few other Americans killed in Iraq and Afghanistan….
14Right on RP. When they say Benghazi, all we have to do is say “9/11” Where was Bush?
15Where was Ms. Graham October 23, 1983 when the Marine Barracks in Beirut was bombed? More importantly … where was St. Ronnie Raygun (zap!)? Wonder if it would be possible to Impeach a President ….. posthumously?
16What if they DO figure out where THE PRESIDENT was that night? He can’t take a break for a bath or to take his wife to dinner? Look, guys, these folks are trying to earn their paycheck. Imagine trying to keep pots boiling all the time IN ADDITION to trying to have folks NOT find out what’s really going on a bunch of places. It’s one reason I don’t watch the news. What is it they DON’T want us to know about? The TPP? Water being stolen from rural towns to be shipped to fracking sites and big cities who don’t have good water policies?
17And I know one lady who probably have friends who believe the same thing. They believe that Obama is stealing water from west Texas to ship to China. Sigh.
18re “…Americans trust Hillary Clinton over Republicans…”
19Over the holidays I exchanged pleasantries with one of my brothers (he’s the one I swear couldn’t have been born to the same woman as I) about Hillary’s chances of getting the Presidential nomination and then winning the November election in 2016. Bro says he’s agin Hillary cause if you elect her it’d just be 4 more years of Bill. And I’m thinking, what’s so darned bad aboot that? Let’s see gasoline 89 cents a gallon, balanced budget, US in no wars no where. Yeah that was pretty danged awful alright.
There was a survey recently and the vast majority of Americans who participated could not figure out where the hell Benghazi was. This also means they do not know what the RWNJ’s are talking about!
20What ticks me off is the Congressional report has this statement “could have been prevented”. Well I’m waiting for someone with a brain to say almost all tragic events could have been prevented…the spill in WV, fertilizer plant in Texas, 9-11, embassy bombings going back to Beirut, heck even WWI and II – even to the fact of someone getting sick after not taking care of themselves. Everyone acts like this is a ultimate condemnation – it means NOTHING and no one wants to admit it. I’m also waiting for them to say mass shootings are preventable too…let’s stop that right away.
21And where was Graham? Why wasn’t he there with his gun to protect the staff?
