Holy Hell, He’s Doubling Down

July 15, 2019 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Now Trump wants an apology from the women he trashed and he says that “many people” agree with him about them going back home.

The Republican leadership has yet to say anything and the “moderate” Republicans (who really don’t exist) all have BUTs in their statements.

Even when voicing their concerns, Republicans did so carefully. Many of their statements included criticism of the four Democrats and did not fully slap back or condemn the president’s words.

They are a stinkin’ bunch of cowards who lets the Twitter Bully attempt to destroy this country and certainly their party.

When attempting to draw a parallel between this monster and anything else in the world, it is best to seek out an expert’s advice.

Master of Horror Stephen King Says Trump is ‘Scarier’ Than His Novels

Edit: King discussed the similarities of his 1979 novel and 1983 motion picture The Dead Zone, a sci-fi/thriller that followed the rise of a “real estate con man” turned political demagogue, to the current occupant of the White House.

“I was sort of convinced that it was possible that a politician would arise who was so outside the mainstream and so willing to say anything that he would capture the imaginations of the American people,” King said.

King explained how the main character in his story, Greg Stillson, was at first taken as a joke because of the stunts he’d pull at his rallies. The author then spoke of how Stillson used bikers that supported him at his events to “make sure nobody heckled him”—something that is eerily reminiscent to Trump rallies even now.

King then explained that it wasn’t so much of a premonition but more of assessment of the American public that lead him to believe that of a Greg Stillson type could actually ascend to power one day.

“I know that American voters have always had a real attraction to outsiders with the same kind of right-wing ‘America First’ policy,” King said. “And if that reminds people of Trump, I can’t be sorry because it was a character that I wrote. It was a boogeyman of mine, and I never wanted to see him actually on the American political scene, but we do seem to have a Greg Stillson as president of the United States.

  2. Remember, not too long ago when people asked seriously, do you think America is now a post-racial society?

It’s clear with Trump we’re in a free-range racist society. The only question is, do any boundaries remain? For a man so fond of fences and walls he’s seems OK with crossing the line himself, sending his ethnic attacks one way, south of the border.

  3. But.. But we can’t impeach him it would be too political or so speaks the surrender caucus who prefer to coddle this bigot and take the word of a christianist hypocrite ( sorry redundant) that when given money the admin would improve the care of those they have imprisoned rather then to increase capacity for more arrest’s – guess what they did?
But gee you know it is the progressives who are “naive” for not trusting the thuglicans not like the mature congressional “leaders” who have a history of giving away the farm for 20 years of surrender and groveling.
By the way where are the complaints about people trashing Pelosi and the d agenda when munchkin ( d wv) McCaskill (d mo) and others run campaign ads trashing Pelosi and the d agenda?
A bit of hypocrisy by the “moderates” wouldn’t one say?

    K,
I look at impeachment like peaches. There’s a small window when they’re at their peak. Perhaps with impeachment, perfect ripeness will arrive around the Republican National Convention, or during the final months of the 2020 campaign? Many voters have short term memories.

If your scenario is followed where the House does not even have impeachment hearing until then it will be so obviously nothing more then a cheap political ploy by those who are to afraid to do their jobs that it would probably lose votes.
Start the hearings NOW with thuglican intransgience and stonewalling it probably would not get out of the House until a year from now.
Create a impeachment committee chaired by Rep Jayapal ( Seattle) with the rest of the members being chosen, and from, the progressive caucus exclusively.
If any “moderates” say anything in opposition then pelosi et.al. marginalize those members and wherever posible have DCCC fund primary challenges to those “disloyal” members who seek to only raise discord and subvert the party.
If it comes out earlier a record has been established.
If the turtle in the senate tries to kill it ensure overwhelming evidence and use it as ammunition against him and any thuglican ( collins, gardner, Mcsally) running for reelection.
Difference being that a year of steady drum beats of crimes and corruption coming out of hearing will soak into all but the most ideological fools out there.
Do your job impeachment hearings NOW. Exhaustive, financial colonoscophy on syphilitic donnie, his minions and the thuglican party played out on live TV, no testimony behind closed doors.
Empty seat any who refuse subpoens’s and use time to enter all evidence against person who refuses. Use criminal contempt and have House sargeant at arms detain any one who has ignored a sub poena and comes to the house for any reason what so ever. ( i.e. speak to thuglican caucus, testify for any reason on any issue, presenting admin priorities to congress – anything)

megasoid @13, I very rarely use any streaming media like youtube due to capped internet access [just switched to an ‘unlimited’ plan, but it still has bullshit limits]. So not watching anything online [except an occasional aviation engine, jet, or rocket clip].

  16. Sandridge says:

megasoid @13, PS: did you know there are programs to ‘capture’ media files that you view or listen to? You can ‘save’ what you watch/listen to, like using a DVR/PVR, or ancient VHS/cassette tape recordings.

I use the “VLC” program now [and AnyDVD], there are others.
VLC can function as a ‘DVR/PVR’ and make a recorded copy of practically any media [not just streaming stuff, CD’s, DVD’s, etc] in almost any multimedia file format you want, as you watch/listen, recorded to your PC or devices’ memory/storage.
With that saved copy that you can then make other format copies suitable for whatever ‘play device you like, MP files for your smartphone, burning CD/DVD’s, etc.
It does have a ‘learning curve’.

My computer is old and not supported for the most part.
There used to be a share free site that went bust overseas last year. thousands of movies, documentaries, animations, that I downloaded to hard drives with a cheap woofer and bookshelf speakers.

All the classics, noir, VLC etc. If you ask Youtube for a music Mp3 downloader or a 4k video downloader and provided content is not still under copywright, you can access Nat. Geographic, Smithsonian, old HBO etc., steam punk… It will deny you if its still monetized. with an error. I-Tunes with the coveted visualizer still works even though Apple discontinued it for the most part. same rules apply for music downloads.

Christopher Walken has psychic abilities and sees Greg Stillson (Martin Sheens) Earth destroying future as president. While trying to kill Stillson at a political rally. Walken is recognized in the balcony. Stillson grabs a baby from its mother’s arms and holds it up as a shield from the shots fired at the dais. A photographer captures the cowardice and thus ends Stillson’s political career.

    megasoid @17, et al,
RE: having older, ‘going obsolete’ computers [or phones, see bottom]– you can pick up excellent, very low cost, nearly current ‘refurbished’ [and new ones] at Newegg ” newegg.com “.
One of Newegg’s sales channels [they have several, it’s confusing]:
    https://flash.newegg.com/

You can get a decent refurb computer as low as ~$60, the more ‘state-of-the-art’ models start around $120 and up.
If you watch Newegg’s many sales&specials, you can get fantastic machines for $150-300; machines that cost $1000-3000 new just a year or three ago. They will serve you well for years.

They are often business-class lease returns that get ‘refurbished’. That means the machine has its’ old software wiped, a new licenced operating system installed [usually Windows 10 Home/Pro], sometimes a new HD/SSD and/or memory added, everything cleaned up and checked.

They sell all the big names, HP, Lenovo, Sony, Asus, etc., both desktops and laptops, tablets, smartphones, all at unbeatable prices.
Amazon also has some, but Newegg seems to win usually in this market, IMO.

I recommend the HP business class machines, HP maintains excellent online support and documentation for many years on these machines. You do need to compare the specs, you often find better machines priced below less well-equipped ones.
    .
Although I just bought a -new- replacement smartphone from Amz [old one has a swollen lithium battery], since Newegg didn’t carry the top model:
A [Xiaomi] ” Redmi Note 7 ” 4GLTE/128G, almost as good as a grossly overpriced $1000+ Samsung 10 or Apple, for just — $211 — [and no shipping or tax charges ;] ]. About 1/5 the price of the ‘flagship names’ ones.
And almost all the features, etc, not quite the compute speed or screen resolution, but I can’t tell [fantastic screen 2K HD, vs. the S/A are ~3K]. It has a 48MP main camera, 13MP selfie. And standby hybrid ‘dual SIM’ too, that means you can have 2 phone lines active on it, instead of carrying around 2 phones [wtf, I have 5 lines]. 128G memory means you probably don’t need to add an extra MicroSD memchip to it.

Holy crap, the price went down to just $204.
You’re not going to find a better unlocked GSM 4G-LTE smartphone around. I know, I spent months looking.
Anybody thinking of getting a new/replacement/upgrade phone, check this out. Don’t stay locked into your rapacious cellphone company stuff [I worked in the biz]:
Search Amazon for, look it over, no better deal around, a fantastic phone:
    Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 128GB
[+ 4GB RAM 6.3″ FHD+ LTE Factory Unlocked 48MP GSM Smartphone (Global Version, No Warranty) (Neptune Blue)]
Not the 64G version, unless you want [64k is about $20 cheaper]!

  23. Old Fart says:

Just to throw it out there: A Windows 7 class computer, with maxed out RAM, and Linux Mint gets you a safe and secure computer with almost all the media bells and whistles. The software is all free and a decent 5-7 year old laptop with USB 3.0 has plenty of future to it. Other distributions purposely veer away from proprietary software like media codecs, but Mint goes for ease of use a an option. Even older 1st gen 64 bit computers (core 2 duo) will perform adequately for web surfing and streaming, with 8 GB of RAM, and the ridiculously inexpensive SSDs to speed up loading time.
A 64 bit computer will be supported under Linux for the foreseeable future, with ~4+ years between upgrades for LTS (long term support) versions of Linux. That means constant security updates and all the free software to fiddle with as you wish, with searchable blogs for support of the infrequent problems. Windows software can even be run in emulators, or dual booting to the old and insecure Windows OS when required. Scenarios of multi-booting are covered frequently. I would recommend Mint because the XFCE version can deal with truly old and slow hardware, and more powerful hardware has other more modern desktop environments, but all are geared to just work without drama and robustness…

  24. Something just occurred to me. I’ve always thought it strange that the far right supported anti-Semitism with one hand, while simultaneously beating the protect-Israel-at-all-costs drum on the other.
But when I think about it in a different context it makes total sense.
The anti immigrant fear mongering peddled for decades here by conservative infrastructure and utilized with brutal efficiency by Donald f**king Trump is the same concept used by his buddy Benjamin Netanyahu.
Anybody see the false equivalency? America, the safest country in the world, surrounded by oceans, Mexico and Canada.
compared to a country surrounded by countries who don’t acknowledge their right to EXIST.
I know I’m probably pointing out something that’s already been talked about.
    But just in case.

Given that they’ve spent at least a decade gerrymandering the country to a fair-thee-well, suppressing the vote of anyone who doesn’t look just like them [old, pasty white men] and who might, possibly, perhaps vote Democratic, all in order to grab and hold onto power, why would they do the right thing now?

    29
  30. twocrows says:

And now we know why the shenanigans.

1] The neo-nazi who killed Heather Heyer in Charlottesville 2 years ago was sentenced while all this was going on.
You know —- the “very fine person” Trump thought the press was being WAY too hard on back when it happened? That guy.

2] And as it turns out, ALSO on the same day, guess whose trial began for working on a certain *resident’s transition while being an unregistered agent for a foreign government and lying about it to Congress?

And no, it wasn’t Michael Flynn. Believe it or not there was SOMEONE ELSE who did exactly the same things he did.
    Oh goody.
This guy’s name is Bijan Keion and his trial started yesterday.
    Oops.

I don’t know which of these [though I’m guessing both] spurred Trump to attack 4 congresswomen but hey, guess what received absolutely no coverage in the news today:

1] The sentencing of the man who drove his car into a crowd of people who were counter-protesting Nazism in this country and
2] The opening of the trial of the guy who, while working on the Trump transition team and picking new cabinet members for this administration was simultaneously working for a foreign government and lied about it when he got caught.

Gee — do you think that maybe, perhaps, possibly, Trump was trying to drown out news of these two stories?

    Uh huh. Me, too.
    And it worked.

  32. Again, it is so obvious that he is out of control but the R’s and his so-called base are fine with that.

To somebody like me with a grad degree in psych, his actions are technically called “spiraling”. My conclusion is paranoid schizophrenia. Just like so many other tyrants in history. Look at what happened to at least a few of the infamous ones: Hitler -suicide; Mussolini – execution. None of them end well.

As for Trump aiming at the imaginations of his base, let me rephrase that. He thinks they are as crazy as he is and is depending on that.

    32
  33. Lunargent says:

    twocrows –

Actually, both of those stories were covered yesterday on MSNBC – I think on Maddow, possibly other shows too.

I’m sure not everyone has the time or patience to watch a 4-hour block of news programs like I do (Hayes/Maddow/McDonnell/Williams). But I’m a night owl, married to a Republican who can’t even tolerate having MSNBC on when he’s in the room. So I record everything, then time warp through it late at night, which reduces it to under 3 hours without commercials. Alternatively, they’re available as podcasts the following day (not sure about Williams).

I like MSNBC’s coverage. Though they have a definite political slant, they report on real events, instead of created “news” like the War on Christmas and such. And they have a stable of guests that I find very knowledgeable and credible. They also bkmanage to entice a few over from the other side, most of whom make total fools of themselves.

Anyway, their evening programs are a good source of the major events of the day, not just whatever mechanical rabbits the administration releases for everyone to chase. I can’t speak to their daytime coverage, since I don’t watch it.

    33
