Holy Damn Crap

January 15, 2021 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Okay, so I wake up late this morning after the disturbing news last night that the historic courthouse in my hometown – a block from my home – is being closed to the public today through new Wednesday. They didn’t given any reason for the closing but I suspect it has something to do with the domestic terrorists who might get some ideas about courthouses next, which meant I did not sleep well last night.

And then this morning

Federal prosecutors offered the most chilling description yet of rioters who seized the Capitol last week, writing in a new court filing that the intention was “to capture and assassinate elected officials.”

The bullhorns and face paint guy told the FBI that he hoped to return to the capitol for inauguration to, you know, register his displeasure.  His lawyer broadly hinted for a Presidential pardon.

Nuttier than squirrel poop.

And a guy from Texas, retired Air Force Reserve who was turned in to the FBI by his ex-wife, was carrying around restraints that were intended to be used on elected officials.  Get this —

A magistrate judge on Thursday released Brock to home confinement with electronic monitoring and limits on interacting with others involved in the riot and barred him from possessing guns or accessing social media.

I just sent my magistrate judge a note that said, “You do this and you’re gonna have an ex-wife, too.”

When I think how close they came to actually pulling this off, I cringe knowing this is the same DOJ, Homeland Security and FBI guarding the Capitol until noon on inauguration day.

Holy damn crap, y’all.

Be social and share!

The face paint guy is not alone. It seems everybody wants a pardon these days. There is a guy in Indiana who was out on bond involving a four year sentence for drug violations, who took it on himself to travel to Washington and demonstrate. He faces up to 10 years additional for violating the terms of his bond, but he is now begging for a presidential pardon.

  2. I doubt Trump will issue pardons to the failed coup plotters – they failed, and Trump doesn’t pay for failure. Ask Rudy.

That said, if Trump wanted to send out a big (frack) you to the country, he might try issuing such pardons. It would be very stupid – but we’re talking Trump.

I haven’t been this anxious since 9/11. I had hoped that after Biden was declared the winner in November, calm would be restored. In fact the heat was turned up, not only by the RWNJs in our neighborhoods but the ones in Congress. I was glad to see political contributors (even Koch) say no more. But we need to know who funded this, who directed and participated and then make sure it can’t happen again.

  4. I wish whatever cooler heads in exist in the White House would just chloroform this guy for the next five days, so he can’t do any further damage.

I honor Officer Goodman for his actions in keeping the bad guys out of the Senate…but maybe if he hadn’t, the Senate would have already acted on the impeachment–maybe they’d be more scared of immediate threats than the Trump’s and McConnell’s.

There were people ready to kill ALL of Congress (“They’re ALL traitors!” yelled some) and this shilly-shallying that the Senate’s now pulled for over a week is disgusting.

Grandma @ 3 for the big question of the day, who is funding this?

Can’t provide specific names yet, but some of them are located in Utah. One billboard meh. Lining the area around Salt Lake City and Provo with billboards isn’t chump change. One example: Resign RHINO Romney! Those are the signs ringing the neighborhoods of the well funded and organized white Far Right reactionary groups in that area. Some insider taped a Wanted for Treason sign to the DC congressional office door of John Curtis (R-UT).

We’ve felt some of that Utah corporate money here in NV, too. Many of you saw some of the same money sources go to CA to attack Proposition 8; that’s still happening. Ms JJ and her Judge would probably advise against it, and especially not at her professional political organization unless there are certified copies of documents that she can review first. Not to worry, Ms. JJ – not in the market to have my butt sued nor yours. Again not ready to name names.

Anyone interested in doing independent research in Utah or elsewhere. Look to the property records. Who owns what and how much is a starting point.

  7. Reputation, thanks. I have been wrong about pardons, too, but I think you’re right: the orange 1 doesn’t reward lowers– he throws Rheem under the bus. Confer: sighing Rudy.

Barb in DC, could they just claim it was to be sure he didn’t get the virus again?

Now, let’s not rush to judgement. Zip-tie guy said he found them on the floor in the Capitol building, and just picked them up with no intent to use them for anything. Probably he’s a neat freak, or just did not want any of the congressional folks tripping over them. I bet it was Antifa that put them there to trick Fine People into looking bad by picking them up.

As for money, it seems that $500k worth of bitcoins were distributed to various right wing groups like the Poor Boys, just before the insurrection. European intelligence agencies said it was likely state actors (cough, Putin) responsible for it.

In one sense the terrorists have on: they have intimidated the national and state governments.

In another sense, they appear to be nitwits, operationally.

I am knee-deep in Richard Rovere’s “Senator Joe McCarthy.” Replace McCarthy with Trump almost anywhere in the book and it makes perfect sense. Except one. Rovere wrote that McCarthy ‘had no program.’

I think that is true of Trump, personally, but unlike McCarthy trump does have people around him who do have a program.

  11. Am I the only one who sees these morans and hears “just the good old boys, never meanin’ no harm”?

    11
  12. I think I remember Lawrence O. on The Last Word saying that being Impeached prevents any more pardons!

    12
  13. Keith Olberman said that the President has the power to pardon, except in cases of impeachment. I do not think he can pardon these dolts.

    13
  14. G Foresight says:

The U.S. Constitution, in Article II, Section 2, grants the president the power of executive clemency [pardons] but a president can’t use this power to intervene in impeachment proceedings. Asking for a friend: are the the domestic terrorists intertwined with the impeachment proceedings? If yes, Bison et.al are seemingly not eligible for a Federal pardon.
