Holy Crap: Holy War Edition

November 15, 2015 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Okay, so in this far right corner we have Jeb! Bush, a man who has been trying desperately to just slide into the oval office without anyone noticing.

He blew his cover.

Jeb!Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush said over the weekend that the U.S. should respond to the terrorist attacks in Paris by carefully screening out Syrian refugees who are not Christians.

Okay, that’s one of the most unChristian things I’ve ever heard.

The first question has to be: how will we know if they are Christians?  Some people lie about that, you know.  And most of those who do lie are running for President of the United Damn States of America in the Republican primary.

So, what’s the test?  Must they walk on water and promise to herd Mexicans back to Mexico?

Jeb!’s reasoning is that Isis is “slaughtering” Christians.  Well, Jeb!, if that is true why did Isis pick on France, where President Hollande is an atheist and a damn socialist?

And he’s the smart brother.  Go home, Jeb!, you’re an idiot.

Be social and share!

  1. “They will know we are Christians by our love….”. I guess that means he thinks we should maybe initiate the love part, like feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, housing the homeless, visiting those in jail….Then if the Syrians have documentation that they too take these actions, then we can take them in?

    1
  2. I think clueless sociopathy runs–wait, make that “gallops”–in the Bush family.

  3. Aggieland Liz says:

Um, and yeah, there’s that part about LOVING (?!??) your enemies too, which all these “Christians” just forget or gloss over or are leaving clean out of their New-and-Improved-Exceptionally-American-Revised-Calvinist-King-James-Prosperity-Lite-Version-of-the-Holy-Damn-Bible starring
Ra-mammon-bo Jesus on a velociraptor and ably backed up by Wayne LaPierre, Worthing, and Remington, with Smith&Wesson singing the chorus…
I’m gonna hafta start drinking, y’all 🙁 it sounds like I’m already there!

  4. Does Jeb? really think that terrorists are going to tell the truth on their application forms?

On a side note: how many of these terrorists were radicalized by having friends and relatives become “collateral damage” during previous bombing campaigns and/or invasions.

What we’re seeing is the result of easy international travel and ready access to weapons. How much training does it really take to shoot up civilian targets, once one has smuggled the weapons and ammunition in?

  5. e platypus onion says:

What do you people want? Wingnuts are always willing to feed, klothe and komfort the koch bros. If that ain’t kristian kompassion with a small k I don’t know what is.

OTOH and if ol’jeebus h christ showed up in wingnut ‘murrica he wouldn’t be allowed to vote because he’d look like a durn furriner and a hippie to boot. Plus he would sound like a socialist.

  6. Go find some teenagers and help them with their homework. Buy them some chicken strips and chips with queso, and school supplies. We can work on govt policies and should, but we have kids who need our attention right now. They’re trying to decide if it’s all worth the bother. Make it worth the bother. They hold an awful lot inside. You should see some of the grotesque, creepy art some of them make. They want to be loved and respected. Listen to them. I gotta go stock up on all of the above.

  7. JAKvirginia says:

Thank you Juanita for ruining my Sunday. I guess I’ll go and watch the Washington footbal team lose again just to make it complete.

Aggieland Liz… pour me a stiff one, too.

  8. Ralph Wiggam says:

I remember that story about the good Samaritan and how he always asked the victim’s religion before he offered help. Or maybe not.

    8
  9. JAKvirginia says:

And, oh yeah Jeb?, because christians NEVER do anything bad. Uh huh. Yeah. Right.

    King of the Morans.

    9
  10. Here’s a basket full of hugs. Pass them around.

    10
  11. About Jeb! and the rest of the Republican Party.

May I quote one of my favorite bloggers….. Jim Wright ?

    Look away Momma.

    “These F**k**g People.”

    11
  12. Polite Kool Marxist says:

Jeb(?), listen to your mama, “no more Bushes in the White House.”

Dubya and Jeb(?) are the ones they allow out in public. How st00pid are Marvin and Neil?

    12
  13. ISIS has slaughtered a lot of Muslims – even more than the Christians.

    13
  14. Topical Bush conclusion. Wrong again. Who’s gonna keep you safe, Jeb?

    14
  15. Typical not topical. Spell autocorrect strikes again.

    15
  16. JAK it could be worse, you could be in Detroit watching the Lions.

    16
  17. Marge, can I include and envelope full of self-adhesive boot straps with your basket of hugs?

    17
  18. First, prayers and sympathy for the victims of these fools. That includes the 1000s of innocents that are legitimately trying to escape the carnage in their home countries. It also includes the forthcoming victims of mindless fear of “those other people”.

I live ~6-7 miles from the Boston bombing site, and I’m glad to say that MOST of the locals aren’t quivering in fear of anybody that looks like they came from the Middle East. Most of the locals have met and known the almost absolute number of people (from that part of the world) that want to get along with everybody else. Making us afraid of the good folks is exactly what the terrorists want.

    Hope for the best

    18
  19. Yall are just too unappreciative of what Jeb? has given up to run for higher public office: tobacco, alcohol, cocaine, thinking…. the list is long.

    19
  20. This election season is the best reason yet to eliminate religion from out politics. All those fools thumping their bibles and hallelujahing their personal invisible sky demons never seem to have any clue what said ISD’s told them the last time around. Somehow they keep hearing what they want them to say.

    20
  21. Jeb! has more in common with ISIS than he does with Jesus.

Both Jeb! and ISIS are fanatical about religious purity and are willing to use extreme violence to achieve it. Neither care about human rights and neither have any empathy.

    21
  22. This is just as politically and ethically incorrect as Jeb!’s suggestion, but I’m going to throw it out there just for fun.

If you really want to screen out refugees who might be prone to violence, use testosterone as your criterion.

Of course the fact that young men are the most likely to be ISIS terrorists in no way shows that all young men are ISIS terrorists. But then, neither does religious status.

    22
  23. Susan on the Left Coast says:

The Paris killers were not Syrian refugees but then the powers that be won’t be bombing Belgium for harboring terrorists since Belgium doesn’t have oil fields for us to rape & pillage as there are in Syria where we trained & armed ISIS in the first place.

The Paris horrors were perpetrated by Belgian born brothers, one dead, one arrested & one on the run….and one French born whom are already identified….armed to the teeth with Russian AK-47s. It is being reported that the Belgians entered into France with throngs of refugees in October.

Via news: (reiterating my own rant of the last few days)

“The war on terror without end launched 14 years ago by George Bush, is tying itself up in ever more grotesque contortions.

On Monday the trial in London of a Swedish man, Bherlin Gildo, accused of terrorism in Syria, collapsed after it became clear British intelligence had been arming the same rebel groups the defendant was charged with supporting. The prosecution abandoned the case, to avoid embarrassing the intelligence services.

The defense argued that going ahead with the trial would have been an “affront to justice” when there was plenty of evidence the British state was itself providing “extensive support” to the armed Syrian opposition.

That didn’t only include the “non-lethal assistance” boasted of by the government (including body armour and military vehicles), but training, logistical support and the supply of “arms on a massive scale”.

Reports were cited that MI6 had cooperated with the CIA on a “rat line” of arms transfers from Libyan stockpiles to the Syrian rebels. (ISIS) ….all so the ‘west’ could take control of Syrian oil.

A year into the Syrian rebellion, the US and its allies weren’t only supporting and arming ISIS they knew to be dominated by extreme sectarian groups; they were prepared to countenance the creation of some sort of “Islamic state” – despite the “grave danger”…..This US and western habit of playing with jihadi groups, which then come back to bite them, goes back at least to the 1980s war against the Soviet Union in Afghanistan, which fostered the original al-Qaida under CIA tutelage.

It was re calibrated during the occupation of Iraq, when US forces led by General Petraeus sponsored an El Salvador-style dirty war of sectarian death squads to weaken the Iraqi resistance. And it was reprised in 2011 in the Nato-orchestrated war in Libya

Endless western military interventions in the Middle East have brought only destruction and division. It’s the people of the region who can cure this disease – not those who incubated the virus.”

Side note: In the late 70’s to early 80’s I dated a ‘land developer’ with vast holdings. He came to US after WWII, has accumulated his wealth in the EU ripping off art & treasures from bombed out homes with a few other teens who buried the goods until war was over and split the bounty. He is Jewish (or was, if he’s no longer living)

Sitting in a restaurant one night….he gave me a big box gift. I opened it and (seriously) inside was a gold plated girly sized machine gun he had made just for me…I was livid and refused to take it. I asked “what the hell?” … he said he owned a weapons plant in South America that exported to Arab nations and a weapons plants in Israel. When I ranted how twisted that was…and how could he sell to anti-Israeli and at same time be so devotedly Jewish …he said…”Susan, don’t be stupid….war is nothing but money” That was the last time I saw him…dumped him at that restaurant table.

    23
  24. I don’t know if Jeb:( believes that bullcrap or is just licking the boots of the Murrican “Christian” Taliban, but he’s pond scum either way, and that’s being insulting to pond scum.

By the way, as I write the Washington team is winning 🙂 and the Packers are losing ? 🙁

Lots of good comments got in before me, and I agree with pretty much all of them. Why don’t more people think the way we do?

    24
  25. Does he think there is some kind of test to prove you are a Christian?? Because if there was such a thing….I think Jeb would flunk it.

    25
  26. Dear Republicans,
If you want to keep out Syrians who are not Christian, do you plan to apply that same test to Mexicans?

    26
  27. JAKvirginia says:

    Rhea: Washington won… decisively!!!!
    I AM STUNNED!!!

    Jeb? still sucks.

    27
  28. Aggieland Liz says:

@ left coast Susan-you can console yourself that he was 1) smart, and 2) honest with you, although not as a habit, apparently. And that’s the real problem we are suffering from in the early 2000’s USA: since the 1980s, possibly starting in the 1970s, we, collectively, decided to accept fairy tales full of patriotic rainbows and magic flag waving unicorns as preferable to the TRUTH. So we are doomed to continue trying to solve real problems, both here and abroad, as though we were acting in a melodramatic B movie Hollywood fiction. And we will fail. Until we grow the hell up and stop pretending we live in a nice little world that follows a feel-good Disney rewrite instead of the original Grimm fairy tale-most of them had sad endings and a life lesson. Life lessons are harsh and true. We prefer glib lies.

    28
  29. e platypus, check your map. If the real jeebus h. christ showed up, he’d prob’ly look a whole lot like…a Syrian terrorist .

    29
  30. It is time for another crusade! just as the Christian knights journeyed to the “Holy Land” in the middle ages, Christians from Europe and America should meet in Europe and journey to the “Holy” Land and fight the infidels.

    30
  31. Dan Mozer, I don’t remember that working out terribly well the first (second, third, fourth) time. Not to mention the times when they said, “Why go all the way to the Holy Land to slaughter infidels when we have plenty right here!” and massacred all the Jews in their cities. I hope you were joking but it’s often hard to tell these days.

    31
  32. @Dan Mozer
I’m fuzzy on the whole fight infidels in the Holy Land thing. What do you mean?

    32
  33. Yeah, because we all know that no Christian has ever committed a violent act.

    Oh, wait – – – –

    33
  34. Rhea, it wasn’t just the Jews. Read up on the Albigensian Crusade. A group of Christians called the Cathars in southern France came up with some ideas that the Catholic Church found heretical. Because of that, and because the King of France wanted more control over the south, a crusade was launched to convert or kill the Cathars. The Massacre at Béziers was the source of the phrase, “Kill them all, God will know his own.”, when both Cathars and the Catholics sheltering them were slaughtered.

    34
  35. JAKvirginia says:

Aggieland Liz: So true… so true.

    35
  36. Aw, frick!!!! The damn crusades were a way of rounding up all the thugs we now call knights, organizing them, training them and getting them the hell out of the neighborhoods they were terrorizing and send them elsewhere to do more terrorizing only this time with a damn blessing! Origuy is right. When the money ran out to fund far-flung crusades, the pogroms began at home! That last little bit of info should be taken seriously, more so maybe than the preceding stuff, by people in high places who are really pushing for their own type of jihads. The truth is, it all comes home to roost!

    36
  37. Ralph Wiggam says:

    Dan Mozer, (expletive deleted)

    37
  38. JAKvirginia says:

I’m with you Maggie! My personal historical interest is European culture from around 900 CE to 1900. That thousand years is so jam-packed with politics, wars, duplicity, and just about every level of assholery one could imagine. It is the preamble to every thing we see today. Truly enlightening.

    38
  39. John Ellis Bush (JEB!) is a Bush. A recent adv. from jeb says we should protect Christians in the Mideast from persecution. Is that only the Mideast? What about the Christians in any number of African nations that routinely capture, rape, enslave, torture and kill Christians? What about Boko Haram, who has no home country, but is supported by other-than-Christian religious organizations? jeb is as discriminatory as his brother was/is a drunk/junkie the Bush criminal enterprise bought (thanks SCOTUS) the presidency for. E N O U G H! The repubs do not have a credible candidate for any office. never mind the presidency.

    39
  40. Indiana is FIRST state to say no to shelter for any people from the Mideast……….once again our governor has made our state look like the discriminators of all things/all people……..unless of course one should meet his VERY narrow view of Christians…..he makes me beyond embarrassed for Indiana.

    40
  41. He’s an idiot and a low grade one at that.

    41
  42. WA Skeptic says:

One consolation for the Muslims during the Christian Crusades: they were able to rip off the invaders when they were buying souvenirs to take back to Blighty. Rug Dealers were the main line of revenge!

I just wish there were more common sense politicians.
