Hey, Lamar, I Have a Deal For You!
The Big Bloody Blob of the NRA has eaten Senator Lamar Alexander.
“I think video games is a bigger problem than guns, because video games affect people,” he told host Chuck Todd.
That is very cool. I did not even know that stuff.
So, here’s my deal. Come on over to my house. From 2:00 – 3:00, I will give you a video game to play. From 3:05 until 3:05 and a half, I will shoot you with a gun.
Then you get to tell me which one affected you the most.
Thanks to Ralph for the heads up.
Video games is?
1Fact: No one on this planet has ever been shot and killed by a game controller. The gun fetish is strong in this one.
Look! Over there! A unicorn!
2@publius
3No, the money fetish is strong in that one. They get rich on the backs of those they are supposed to serve, and it is not us.
JJ, this one made me spew coffee.
4@Bud Malone: A mistake from a former Secretary of Education. Priceless.
5I know exactly what he means. I played Pong so much that I now walk ever…. so…. slowly…. whenever I see a line on the ground. Having tile floors make me especially slow when making dinner. Maybe I should have stuck with pool and pinball.
6Uh, oh. I play “8 Ball Champion” on the Washington Post’s website. I feel a cue stick rampage coming on…
7Laughing. My guns are all lost on the ranch.
8Folks in Europe and Asia play these same games and manage to avoid going on bullet driven rampages every week. Of course, people in other parts of the globe don’t have to deal with the NRA pushing guns like a dealer pushes heroin to his users.
9Every single Congressman who votes against sensible gun control should be given the same choice.
10I remember a time when I thought his candidacy for the Republican nomination for President was a reasonably good idea. The stooopid not only burns, it’s at least as contagious as Pink-Eye in a 2nd grade classroom.
11Yeah. Bullets affect people too. Just ask Newtown.
12The gun industry laughs all the way to the bank and so do their mouthpieces$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
13“Would you bring a video game to a gunfight?”
14Have to say,
15When will these Fools get back off the Porch and into the Back room where they belong? Am getting Sooooo tired of being the Laughing Stock for the rest of the Planet. I know in hard times we all need a little Comic relief, but my sense of humor is starting to run real thin on these idiots. If it weren’t for JJ and Ya’ll here a the Beauty Shop, the Humiliation would be unbearable. We have got to get these folks off the stage and quit being the entertainment for the rest of the world. I don’t mind laughing with someone, but I just HATE being laughed at for stupidness…. just sayin
So basically what he’s saying is that video games are to blame for all of this. Of course the parent that pay for and allow those games into the home are fully responsible for their children until they are emancipated or until they turn 18. Therefore performing background checks on people who want to purchase guns is silly – we need to perform background checks on people who purchase video games and make it a FEDERAL crime for anyone under 18 to play those games (parents go to jail if they are caught too)
If they would just legalize pot, congress could fire up a ginormous doobie, chill and just come to an equitable solution.
16I don’t remember: When was the first (last) time someone was killed by a video game?
17LOL HILARIOUS! Indeed your post made me laugh out loud.
It is amazing (and embarrassing) just how many asses from Texas we have “representing” us. Could they possibly be dumber? I don’t think so.
18So video games are responsible for the murder of the #1 Navy Seal at the shooting range?
19We (Democrats) will OUST Lamar “Kamikaze” Alexander in 2014 – he is a dinosaur and it one of the wealthiest people in Tennessee – through his way too many years in politics. Sickening. There is a fight abrewin’ between Tennesseans wanting Ashley Judd to run against him here and Kentuckians wanting her to run against McTurtle in Kentucky – Ashley was a Democratic delegate for Tennessee in 2012, she can run in either state and would beat either one of these old geezers~
20And comic books caused gang wars in the 50s. And it was dime novels before that. The lunacy continues. Sheesh.
