Hey, Hey, Texas Republicans, Lookie Over At Mississippi – Don’t Look Toward Colorado. Remember: They Are All Stoned.

September 11, 2013 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Oh crap.  Let’s hope this doesn’t have legs.

Colorado voters ousted two Democratic lawmakers, including the state senate president, in a historic recall vote on Tuesday over their support for tougher gun control laws, handing a major victory to gun rights supporters.

The recall races, the first in Colorado history, are at the epicenter of the national fight over gun control in the aftermath of a series of mass shootings last year, and were seen as a test of the sway of lobbyists on both sides of the debate.

Let’s put a little more butter on this biscuit.  Why even have elections?  Just let the NRA run the country.  I mean, they seem to have everything under control.  You know, except for this innocent bystander thing.

  1. That article is so right. Colorado Springs is very conservative and I did my best by voting NO to the recall, thought we had a chance. The replacement candidates are really scarey, I didn’t vote for them and wrote in a name instead. We’re in deep doodo.

  2. I think I read somewhere that when we were still colonies there were fewer guns than there are now even though at that time the colonies were prosperous and had the surplus $$ to obtain weapons. What most folks had were hunting muskets mostly out on the perimeters going west. They ate what they bagged. Is there something that we didn’t quite learn from this?

  3. Bloomberg in NY was in support of KEEPING Morse and Giron, donated some $350,000 to keep them on board. However, being a “love thy gun” state by the RWNJs, the NRA threw in the same amount of loot in opposition to Morse and Giron … so, sadly, the NRA won and now we have 2 very evil Repukes for a year … Bernie Herpin and George Rivera … who love their guns more then people! Once folks realize Herpin and Rivera have no souls, hopefully, they will be replaced in the next election, but because of all the gun-toting cowboys and cowgirls up here, they will continue to have their supporters and continue to demand their assault rifles and huge magazines of ammo! They are all crying about losing their damned 2nd Amendment rights … they are just so damned stupid! Ugh!!!

  4. Oh … and we’re not all stoned … just the ones with guns and no brains!!

  5. Scary. Y’all in Colorado be sure and wear your dayglo orange hats every time you go indoors, or even when you’re in the dining room eating dinner.

  6. True Colorado story:
Guy walking thru the woods with his two sons running ahead of him. ‘Hunter’ shoots one of the kids. Other kid runs back yelling at the top of his lungs, “Dad! Dad! Jimmy’s been shot!”
    Bang!
    ‘Hunter’ shot the 2nd kid.

I grew up in CO, but ever since Colorado Springs invited in the crazies who then took over the politics, I avoid it.

  7. I think this election only proves the point that Democrats are basically lazy and generally stay home in non Presidential year elections. Hopefully, this will be rectified in a couple of years.

  8. Aggieland liz says:

Dear RayS did they check the insurance policies?! That sounds a whole lot like murder to me!

  9. Congratulations, Colorado gun nuts. You’re already remembered as the state with the Littleton and Aurora massacres. Now this. What’s next?

    10
  10. The only positive news regarding this travesty is that the NRA went after 4 Democrats, but 2 were able to withstand the gun money.

  11. This isn’t even gun control, it’s bullet control. The recalled lawmakers voted to limit bullet clips to 15 rounds. But voters didn’t want to, or couldn’t count to 15 to figure out when they’ve blasted through the clip. They need more bullets, ’cause, who wants to keep track of these kinds of things? It’s too much like math class.

  12. donquijoterocket says:

I had a long-time friend who once taught at a small school district on the plains east of Colorado Springs who related the existence of bumper stickers reading focus on your own damn family. This while the main campus of Focus in the Springs is so large it required its own zip code.Probably still does. There are , unfortunately, pockets of crazy sprinkled throughout the square state. Recently there was talk by some of the Northern Northeastern counties about secession.

  13. Umpty and donquijote … yes, the northeastern corner of CO is looking to secede from the state and Gov. Hickenlooper is actually considering their request! Just saw this on the Noon News! If it is allowed, I hope all the RWNJs migrate to that corner!

    14
  14. This recall sets a terrible precedent. Recalls should be for illegal or immoral actions, not how someone votes on issues.

    15
  15. Just be sure that you don’t tell anyone who’s afraid of the gummint confiscating their guns that the government doesn’t need to keep their own list of gun owners, the NRA does it for them. And the NRA will sell that list to anyone who can claim to be an advertiser or sponsor! Checking to be sure that they’re advertisers will keep that info out of government hands for sure, since the government never lies, as we all know. Although all they really need is a secret National Security Letter to get the NRA to hand over their members list, and not tell anyone that they did. NRA, NSA, what’s one letter in an acronym between friends?
