He’s Going to Make A World Record Attempt At Trouble

August 05, 2015 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Texas attorney general Ken Paxton is now in more trouble.  More.  Seriously.

His butt may be headed to the pokey for contempt.

ken-paxton-mugTexas Attorney General Ken Paxton and a top state health official were ordered to appear before a federal judge in San Antonio next week to determine if they should be held in contempt for violating a court order prohibiting enforcement of the state’s ban on same-sex marriage.

So, h’s going to court to show why he should not go to damn jail for violating a court order.

Y’all,this smug old goat neeeeeds to go to jail.

    But then again, fashionistas tell me that orange jumpsuits can be a flattering wardrobe addition, if you accessorize properly. Who knew?

    I dunno. Back in my young days, orange jumpsuits were worn by volunteer EMS personnel, and no accessories (not even official patches, stethoscopes, bandage scissors sticking of a pocket) seemed to brighten them up. I called mine a pumpkin suit, and wore it over pajamas often enough.

    I would very much like to see Paxton in jail for telling county clerks they could disobey the law if they wanted to. And for securities fraud. And for anything else they can stick on him.

  5. Oh, please, put him in jail! And the gubbiner, too!

  6. According to Netflix, OITNB.

    6
  7. Evidently he took the “disobey the law if you want to” a little too far.

    7
  8. the man is totally looney tunes.

    Have they checked yet to see if he had brain damage from that stroke?

  10. RepubAnon says:

    Yeah, Republicans feel that only the laws they approve of, and which only affect folks they do NOT approve of, should be enforced.

    Imagine if the California State Attorney General ignored a court order regarding open carry…

    Reminds me of the Chad Mitchel Trio “Ballad of Billy Sol Estes”:
    “Now they’re going to take Billy away to the clink
    And the ways things look now, it appears;
    For all of the wheeling and dealing he’s done;
    He’ll get three million four hundred years!

    And as they lead old Billy off to the clink;
    Why, each Texan will take off his hat.
    For who, but a Texan, in all this wide world –
    COULD PULL DOWN A JAIL TERM LIKE THAT!

    Perhaps Ken Paxton is seeking to break that record…

    11
  12. I dunno. Sending Paxton to jail would definitely lower the tone of the joint. Aren’t Texas prisoners already being punished enough?

    A face you would love to slap. Can’t wait for his cell mates to have their way with him.

  14. Elizabeth Moon says:

    Reading the statement from Paxton’s office..when was the “complex legal case” of amending a death certificate to show persons as married argued in court for heterosexual marriages? Hmmm? Because unless such amendments were done only against the protest of the state, and required a higher court’s decision to make them legal, then amendment for a gay marriage should be just as automatic. A marriage is a marriage. There aren’t two levels of marriage.

    (Picking up a cluebat and swinging it.)

  15. Even those gorgeous women of Orange is the New Black are not desperate enough to want anything to do with him. Ugh.

    You know this is going to end up with him/them claiming a Ghandi/King mantel, right?

    “We must preserve the God given right to oppress the heathens/sinners!” Even if the Law MUST remain secular…

  17. RepubAnon, Paxton’s behavior reminded me of this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NFSjZYc8eH4

    I don’t know Republicans even bother to make laws. They never follow them anyways.

    Good Grief.

  20. Corinne Sabo says:

    I hope he goes to prison but not in San Antonio. The air smells good here right now.

    20
  21. Republicans make lots of laws, but they only apply to other people.

  22. two crows says:

    Where do the red states [and I include FL, my current home, among that number] dig up these people? What rock do they crawl out from under?

    I’ll trade you Rick Scott for this guy. Maybe he would even go to prison for all that Medicare fraud if ya’ll would just take him off our hands? Please?

    To LynnN: Right you are. It’s all that small gubmint they’re always going on about. Make laws that apply only to others. Lots for thee, none for me. And CERTAINLY none for corporations!
