I am back from two weeks without much of an internet machine connection. Yes, it was fabulous.
First of all, I deeply and sincerely thank Primo and El Jefe for keeping the beauty salon open and the floors swept.
It is my desire that they continue to blog here whenever the spirit moves them – as much or as little as they want to.
I’m back. It’s the holidays. I am merry and filled with mischief.

My name is Susan DuQuesnay Bankston. I live in Richmond, Texas, in the heart of Tom DeLay's old district. It's nuttier than squirrel poop here.
I am honored and privileged to know Miss Juanita Jean Herownself, hairdresser extraordinary and political maven. Since she does not have time to fiddle with this internet stuff, I type her website for her and you can read it if you want to. If you don't, she truly does not give a big bear's butt.
A lot of what I post here has to do with local politics, but you probably have the same folks in your local government.
This ain't a blog. Blogs are way too trendy for me. This is a professional political organization.
I’m all for mischief, it’s very good for the soul. In that light, here is a website dedicated to giving hell via editorial cartoons. It is new, specifically as an antidote to the white supremacists and the Cheetoh-faced Ferret-wearing Shitgibbon Cocksplat who think they own the country now. RS is asking for slogans and several have been offered. I like the one from the woman in Iowa, can’t think of her name, in the 1930s, I think. She said, “Raise less corn and more hell.” It’s needs modified to “Raise less ‘Get Along’ and more Hell.” Or something.

14Primo and El Jefe have done a great job in your stead, but we have missed your voice. You are the best voice to come out of Texas since we lost Molly Ivins, and while those long, somber think pieces are great work we need your lighter touch to keep the black dog at bay.
Welcome back, J.J. I, too, have lost hope but am determined to do anything I can to fight the Deplorables. I was reading an article about the NAACP suing the North Carolina Governor and Co. of voter suppression. I immediately donated to the NAACP and designated the money go for voting rights. The Southern Poverty Law Center and the ACLU will need funds to continue the legal fight too, as will Planned Parenthood and Emily’s Fund to support Progressive women candidates in the coming years.
15Environmental causes and any organization dedicated to fighting the oppression which is coming will definitely get my donations as well. I used to feel so sorry for the good folks in Texas, Kansas, Michigan and other Republican controlled states. Now we are all living under that hateful yoke.

21For those who want to resist, and can’t get into the spirit of Christmas this year, may I suggest that you give gifts to progressive causes for all adults on your list, and give gifts to the children. That’s what I’m doing, and I’m feeling a lot better since making that my new policy.
