Here’s The Deal

October 19, 2014 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Okay, guys, early voting starts tomorrow in Texas.  I’ll be busy.

The following week I am serving from 9:00 – 5:00 on the ballot board.  The ballot board verifies the signatures on the mail-in ballots, opens them and prepares them for counting.  Since we have increased the number of Democratic mail-in ballots in this county from 60 to 4,000, it’s important that we have representation on the ballot board.

We need people on the ballot board who know the rules, know what they’re doing, and can stay sober for 8 hours.  I can generally fit one of those categories at any given time.

We do get an hour break for lunch so if I post, that’ll be when I do it.  Or when I get home.

Here’s the deal:  I can live with losing an election fair and square.  I cannot live with getting it stolen from us.  And since y’all raised a hunk of the money to do the mail-ballot program, I want to protect your investment.

So, if I seem inattentive a little, forgive me.  I will post an open comment section every day and y’all can discuss things without me.  I can have a friend approve the posts.

Be social and share!

  3. At least we know that all the ballots in Ft. Bend will be counted correctly.

What should we do when Loopy Louie says something stupid while you are counting ballots?

BarbinDC, we could really hurt Loopy Louie’s little fee fees and ignore him this week, or link to one of John Kwitkowski’s graphics which “say it all.”

  5. Please wear gloves and a facemask. Some of those ballots might have become cross-infected with Teabola,

  6. I’ll be voting early at the IBEW Hall in Pasadena.

If the E-slate counts the vote……

    we’re good.

Go get ’em! Here’s hoping that the early voting sets a trend that turns Texas blue.

  9. With the quick Fifth circuit of Appeals decision and then the guys hanging around The Supreme Court having better things to do than actually writing anything after disenfranchising many Texans in this election, thankfully the women on the court spent the entire night Friday writing and explaining just how wrong they were.

  11. I voted “early” this morning, JJ.

For what it’s worth….. I’m appalled at the lack of opposition to people running in my County for _______fill in the blank…… Judge.

Sometimes my choice was “Republican”….against….. nobody.
    “nobody” was my choice.
Sometimes my choice was “Republican” vs. “Green Party Candidate”…… Guess who got my vote.

Nobody pays me big bucks for my advice…. but here it is.

Unless the Democratic Party starts to build from the bottom up…… instead of from the top down…..nothing in this damned state is ever going to change.

We need people, in office, who know what the law is. And, it starts with the kazillion judges I had to decide for … or against this morning….. We need Democratic candidates …… writ…. twits……. who know the law….. to run for office….. JMHO.

    I VOTED…..

IF YOU DON’T….. SHAME ON YOU.
