Here Ya Go
Houston Republican Congressman John Culbertson has his town hall today.
If you have Facebook, you can probably see this. It’s my friend Katy, who is at the town hall. Over half the people there did not get in.
A screenshot from inside:
The crowd was 95% pissed off.
That’s a frog that should definitely be boiled. Hope they made it hot for him.
1“The crowd was 95% pissed off.”
Oh, good. Maybe they’ll rush him. He’s brave to be standing there without a stage or something to slow them down.
2Rhea, what is not shown are the police behind the Congress Critter ready to shoot dead the first person who stands up to ask a question.
Speaking of cowards and critters, for anyone living in his district, it’s fun with Louie time. Here’s the deal. Send him an amendment to submit to Lyin’ Ryan. Given all the harassment the snacilbupeR have legislated to prevent schoolchildren from using the restroom, they’re obviously eager for a little Title IX discrimination time. Recommend that Louie add Gender Confirmation Surgery to their next repeal/replace the ACA debacle. Louie and the other st00pid snacilbupeR will be certain “confirmation” means issuing potty passes for entry into the restroom. They’ll love it, until the Congressional Budget Office sends them an explanatory note along with the bill.
3It is so gratifying to see Americans standing up to the Republican bullies.
4jane & PKM, I should have said “brave, arrogant, or stupid.” Can be hard to tell the difference at first.
5Houston is one up on us here in Florida. Widdle Wubio hasn’t held a town hall since he ran for the Senate again after promising us, last year, we’d seen the back of him after he lost his bid for the presidency [thank God.]
That’s the bad news. Want to know the good news? One of the Indivisible groups in Tampa showed up at his office every Tuesday since January 3 and, about 2 weeks ago, when his lease was up, his landlord refused to renew.
All Rubio had to do was show up for ONE TOWN HALL and he would still have an office in Tampa. Just one was all it would take. But NOOOOOOOOOO, he couldn’t be bothered. Or, more likely, he just grew a yellow streak down his back.
Wimp.
The big bad people would’ve **gasp!** asked him where he stood on – uh – health care! And Planned Parenthood! And help for retired people living on a fixed income! Because, you know, Florida.
6JJ, only 95% pissed off? What? They didn’t eat their Wheaties?
7My congress critter did an actual town hall. He thought he had obtained the best, most capacious space available – and I would have to agree with him on that – and there still wasn’t enough room for everyone. He has some class and he apologized for the people who were outside. He is looking for yet another venue the size of an airplane hangar but National Airport is not interested. The only other venue large enough would be the field house at the local state university. Only one problem. It is outside of his Congressional district. The airport isn’t. Next best thing is to wait for the weather to go totally spring and do an outdoor event in a public park in his district. In the meantime he is doing what he can with phone town halls, and his staff is handling ALL calls, emails, faxes, letters. None rejected for any reason. But then the guy was an ambassador to two different countries. He tends to know his Ps and Qs and is a staunch Dem.
Maggie’s congress critter is also mine and he has enormous phone town meetings when he can’t find an empty park. He answers every message and his staff is wonderful. I sent him a ‘thank you ” email and plan to send a card. Staunch Democrat and in politics to serve the people he works for.
8To the best of my knowledge Virginia Foxx has held/hosted only small group fund-raiser type events. That hasn’t stopped us from visiting her offices. Same for those cowards Richard Burr and Thom Tillis. There is a group who visit Ptomaine Thom’s High Point office every Tuesday, calling it Tuesdays at Ten with Tillis. We’re trying.
