Hello, Rudy. Payback Day.
I thought y’all would be happy to know that Rudy Giuliani had visitors today.
“Executing a search warrant is an extraordinary move for prosecutors to take against a lawyer, let alone a lawyer for a former president, and it marks a major turning point in the long-running investigation into Mr. Giuliani.”
I wonder if they found the shoe polish he uses on his hair? I mean, face it, that’s gotta be criminal.
The part that struck me hard was this from Giuliana’s lawyer, who was not happy about the raid.
“What they did today was legal thuggery,” Mr. Costello said. “Why would you do this to anyone, let alone someone who was the associate attorney general, United States attorney, the mayor of New York City and the personal lawyer to the 45th president of the United States.”
So, all men are equal under the law except those who got elected?
But there is light at the end of the tunnel. Investigators for the FBI tried to execute these warrants last year.
Under Mr. Trump, senior political appointees in the Justice Department repeatedly sought to block such a warrant, The New York Times reported, slowing the investigation as it was gaining momentum last year. After Merrick B. Garland was confirmed as Mr. Biden’s attorney general, the Justice Department lifted its objection to the search.
The big wheel keeps on turning, Rudy.
I wonder who’s next?
1This headline wins the day.
“Is There A Four Seasons Federal Penitentiary?’: Rudy Giuliani’s Home Was Raided By The Feds, And The Jokes Are Running Like Hair Dye On A Hot Day”
2I’m not a lawyer so I don’t know the answer. Perhaps a lawyer could answer this for me.
Rudy practiced law after he left the New York Mayor’s office. Attorney-client privilege protects him from being required to answer questions about his clients. But what happens if, in the course of executing the warrant, the cops find written evidence of one of his client’s misdeeds? Does it get ignored or can it be used against the client?
Lookin’ at you, Drumpf.
3Rudy’s son Andrew was ranting to the press earlier today. Apparently, he thinks lawyers for the former president should be above the laws that apply to the rest of us peons. He might want to talk to John Dean about that. He also carried on about Hunter Biden’s laptop. A little behind the times, is our boy Andrew.

Not next. Same time. Victoria Toensing.
Former federal prosecutor. Federal prosecutors really really do not like people who make federal prosecutors (or even former ones)look like corrupt, conniving jackasses.
5Rudee is such a scuzball, there might be all sorts of surprises on his electronic devices. Understand this is all about his potential financial crimes related to his work for Trumpf in Ukraine but doubt it will end there. Obviously there’s a strong connection with Victoria Toensing and her hubby. Hard to imagine there won’t also be evidence of his (their) involvement in the Jan 6 insurrection.
6I just have to wonder if, during the search, they might have come across Rudy’s honor, soul or integrity. If he ever had any.
7@ Bob Boland: The crime/fraud exception to the attorney-client privilege comes into play if the attorney gets involved in the crime.
8Thanks, RepubAnon.
9With any luck, this could be the beginning of a delightful, schadenfreude filled time. Giuliani, Toensing and di Genova!
“What they did today was legal thuggery,” Mr. Costello said.
What Rudy, Donald, et al did for four years was administrative thuggery. That’s about 1460 days of thuggery by my count.
10Awwww. Poor baby.
11Administrative illegal thuggery.
12They took his phones – I wonder if he knew Matt Gaetz?
13Judging from his role in the Borat movie, It looks like Rudy may keep some sort of electronic device in his pants

15Next DoJ raids at Mar-A-Pendejo, tRump Tower, 666 & 767 Fifth Avenue…???
16This sounds so much like a replay like all the stuff that happened to Manfort et al! But, hallelujah! At last!
17Put the newest Borat on a loop……
18Given Giuliani’s penchant for drunk-dialing, there may be a lot of numbers for perfectly innocent people stored in his phone. I hope the FBI take this into consideration.
19I am delighted
20Rudy’s son Andrew is not doing his father’s defense any good…he was on camera again later, unable to answer the question whether his father would help convict Trump for a deal…he stammered around uttering random phrases that made ears prick up and expressions sharpen. It’s YES or NO or I DON’T KNOW (he did finally end up there, on the grounds it was a theoretical question (hypothetical being the word he couldn’t think of.) He’s very fair-skinned, and I think a suddenly flush and ebb of color to his face is a tell.
