Has He Tried Reading Inside the Newspaper?

February 03, 2021 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Tommy Tuberville is becoming the Senate’s answer to Louie Gohmert. Or, come to think of it, any other senator.

Get a load of this.  Tuberville was asked about the outrageous statements from Majorie Taylor Greene.

It’s too cold to read?

You only subscribe to skywriting news services?  Even so, I think they were covering this.

Did the Jewish space laser block your internet service?

Honey, was the sun too bright to read in Alabama?

Thanks to SGray for the heads up.

  1. “I have no clue about what’s in the news. Well, that’s what I want you to believe, anyway. And I can’t even make up an excuse about why. So elect me again!”

    Oh, yeah. I’m sold.

  2. Coach right? Everyone knows coach is what you get when you can’t go first class.

  3. i have a feeling when Senator Tommy wakes up in the morning, looks out his window and realizes it’s readin’ weather, his day can’t get any worse.

    3
  4. “…the bad weather has prevented him from reading the news”

FFS, what is that even supposed to mean?

    4
  5. It’s the smirk.
That answer was the same kind of arrogant bulls**t they feel like makes them look like adults dismissing children who should be seen but not heard. “Tell the insolent children something to shut them up because it’s so absurd that it’s fun to see the children confused as to whether the adult was just kidding them or not. That’ll shut em up. Boy, owning libs sure is fun.”
And sometimes I wonder why I get the urge to break the nose of somebody that arrogant.
    Not today though.
    It’s definitely the smirk.

  6. Condescendingly arrogant.
    Definitely the smirk.

Here’s how Tuberville’s brain works 24/7, no matter what is going on outside it!

I wonder if lindsey graham had the same weather problems when he said he wouldn’t take a stand on taylor greene because he hadn’t seen or read about her dangerous and totally bonkers conspiracies? Tuberville needs to work on his “I know nothing” answers”. It shouldn’t be too hard for him to just play stupid like a seasoned repugnican politician.

  9. el lagarto says:

can’t blame him for not trying. I mean, look what happened when he tried to answer an actual question about an actual law-type thing that was actually relevant to his State:

“You know, the thing about the Voting Rights Act it’s, you know ― there’s a lot of different things you can look at it as, you know, who’s it going to help? What direction do we need to go with it? I think it’s important that everything we do we keep secure. We keep an eye on it. It’s run by our government. And it’s run to the, to the point that we, it’s got structure to it. It’s like education. I mean, it’s got to have structure. Now for some reason, we look at things to change, to think we’re gonna make it better, but we better do a lot of work on it before we make a change.”

as another old coach used to say, you could look it up…

  10. Perhaps this will elucidate Mr. Tuberville regarding Marjorie Taylor Greene.

And do so melodically and brilliantly. Thank you Randy.

  11. Okay, even though it’s almost sacrilegeous for this to follow that from the amazing Randy Rainbow, final edit for #5.
    Derisively, condescendingly arrogant.
    And then the smirk thing.

He knows he’s got a six year gig, whether his team wins or loses. That’s as far as his political strategizing goes.

  13. Nick Carraway says:

Reminds me of the time when Newt Gingrich was confronted about not being a regular church goer that he said there was not a baptist church in his congressional district. First, of all, it’s the south. I can’t swing a dead cat without hitting a Baptist church. Secondly, is there some kind of rule I’m not aware of that says you can only attend churches in your congressional district?

This is not unlike any of the others that pretended not to pay attention to the former president’s tweets. They know what’s going on.

  14. Are there staff positions in Congress for offensive and defensive coordinators? If so, his DC will need better compensation.

As a former Pensacolan myself, I gotta go with Morning Joe on this one and be very, very thankful he never coached ‘Bama.

  16. Can Sen Tubby read ? At least beyond X’s and O’s

  17. john in denver says:

    Sen. Tommy
… thought WWII was fought to free Europe from Socialism.
… explained the 3 branches of the Federal Government as the President, the Senate and the House. And
… had a sense of place in his description of what should happen in late January: “We probably could have had the swearing-in and done an inauguration a little later on after we got this virus behind us a little bit,” Tuberville said. “Again, we’re talking about Washington, D.C.”
…finally, he seems a bit confused about science and theology: Tuberville addressed climate change. “There is one person that changes climate in this country and that is God,” he said.

He may or may not be a dumb jock in real life, but he definitely plays one on TV.
