Hanging Chad Testifies That Florida Elections Are Perfectly Safe

August 05, 2020 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Holy cow, this one is a doozy.

Finally, someone told Trump that without Ballots By Mail, he was gonna get his butt beat in Florida.

So, like damn magic, Florida is suddenly the only state in the nation where voting by mail is safe and nobody can crack the secret cheating code.  Wanna know why?  Because they’ve had two consecutive Republican governors who got it all fixed. That’s what the man said. I heard it.

Honey, Texas has had three consecutive Republican governors who have served for a total of 25 years.  How come our elections can’t be trusted?

Hummmmm …

And I have a follow up question. Did Jared help you come up with that answer?

Well, Miss JJ – look at the governors we’ve had! I intend to vote by mail because I’m eligible and I want to live to see his majesty walk the plank away from DC.

  2. There’s also the fact that he ‘lives’ in Florida. So he would also have to head down to vote. Which means the local government could rightly claim Margo Lago is a residence, and have it covered under different regulations. Personally, I’d revoke the business license since it’s in violation of an agreement to never be used as a personal residence in exchange for a bigger dock.

  3. I wonder if Trump’s crony, Postmaster DeJoy (now there’s a name for you) will intentionally speed up delivery for him in Florida. He has slowed it down everywhere else. In the past several months when I check tracking on USPS for items I’ve ordered, they often languish for days in one spot because DeJoy has done away with overtime for postal employees who stay to make sure that day’s mail has gone out. So it sits. Initially I thought it was because of Covid, but now it’s been revealed that it’s because of DeJoy’s new policy. Funny how that will work out to Trump’s advantage.

19 year incumbent (get off my lawn) Lacy Clay goes down after more than half century of corporate fealty by Old White Guys named Clay

Edit: Ferguson activist Cori Bush on Tuesday unseated Rep. Lacy Clay, whose family has represented the St. Louis-area congressional district for more than 50 years.

Also: Have you ever heard a Briggs & Stratton lawnmower? Look up a CNN interview with Mercedes Schlapp today, in which she says mail in ballot fraud being committed everywhere while barely allowing the interviewer to trash her lies. I had to turn it off ‘Lawnmower noise’.

  5. Isn’t the US Postal Service a federal agency, because as far as I know Florida doesn’t have their own state operated postal service. If they use the same USPS as the other 49 states then the mail is secure, it’s just a matter of how state election officials handle the ballots.

If that’s the case I suggest that Florida officials outline their entirely safe and secure mail-in-ballot system as a model for other states.

  6. Buttermilk Sky says:

The other day he said voting by mail is no good but absentee ballots are fine. Somebody tell him it’s the same thing.

Also, didn’t he win Utah, which has had mail voting for years?

Brian @ 2 Rep. Steve Watkins loses Kansas primary after voter fraud charges

Yee Haw! AH Voted! Politics can be so ephemeral.

Edit: The lawmaker was charged in July with interference with law enforcement, providing false information, voting without being qualified, unlawful advance voting and failing to notify the DMV of change of address.

Slicker-n-snot – I don’t know, the guy was in here then he just ran out the door.

Watkins reportedly registered the address of a Topeka UPS store as his home address for the 2019 municipal election and allegedly voted in the wrong city council district.

Hanging Chad? I don’t get the chad bit necessarily, but I’m all in when it comes to Trump and hanging.

  9. Steve from Beaverton says:

As far as Florida, he’s just pre-empting questions about why it’s ok for his entire family to vote by mail but not the rest of us. He’s planning to sue states elsewhere and already started in Nevada. After the election he will attempt to hold up results with lawsuit in an effort to delegitimize the election. He’s a frantic crazy lunatic that’s running out of campaign messages.
I’m waiting for his postmaster general to jump right on board with claims of potential voter fraud soon, before the first states begin with early voting. Today he refused to discuss administration efforts to damage the post office prior to the election.

  10. Lyntilla says:

Teh Gerg @ 9 “Hanging Chad” is a reference to the 2000 Presidential election, where poorly designed ballots in FLORIDA caused the election to go to the Supreme Court. Basically, the poor design and some shenanigans put Bush I into the presidency instead of Gore. (The design involved punching out chads (paper bits) to mark who you wanted to vote for. A hanging chad is one that is not completely punched through so is still partially attached.) For those of us around at the time, the idea of Florida’s system being held up as really good seems laughable.

Good Lord, every day is crazier than the day before. On election night 2016, when spouse came in and told me Trump had won I thought maybe I’d just stay under the covers for the next 4 years. I think it’s time to head back in.

  12. @ Martin 6
Calling out the Guard is a good idea, but Kentucky Governor Andy “You can’t be doing that” Beshear beat him to it. Kentucky used the Guard for the primary in June.

    13
  13. Hey yea, Oregon has had vote by mail for over 20 years, Washington not far behind. I think we can qualify for holding valid elections by mail. Colorado, Utah and Hawaii also have vote by mail. As for Florida, ugh, I’m still pissed about 2000 and how SCOTUS and Republican forces (“Brooks Brothers” busting into vote recounts). The butterfly ballot. Elderly Jewish women being upset that they had voted for Joe Lieberman (for VP) and instead were confused by the ballot and had voted for Pat Buchanan. Jeb Bush the governor of FL, brother to W Bush, and corrupt Katherine Harris, FL Secy of State. It doesn’t seem like 20 years ago. Imagine if Gore (who won half a million more votes) had been president. I’m still angry. I don’t suppose you can tell though, right?

    14
  14. @Lyntilla: truthfully, I’m aware of the meaning. I watched the whole sorry mess unfold. I was concentrating on the idea of Trump hanging for the crimes he’s committed against this nation.

    15
  15. LOL, when I saw “Hanging Chad” the first person that crossed my mind was Chad Wolf, despicable illegal Acting Sec of Homeland Security (his appointment expired 6/20).

    16
  16. And then there’s the Floridian who committed Medicare fraud and, instead of going to jail for it, went to the governor’s mansion — as a stepping stone to the Senate.
    Only in Florida, folks.

Meanwhile, I sold my car last week [hey, I’m 72 years old! It’s the law down here. Well, no — it’s not — and Florida streets are a lot less safe because it isn’t.]

But, galloping back to the point here [you knew there was one hiding in here somewhere, right?] since I no longer have all those bumper stickers out in front of my house declaring, for all the world to see, who I’m voting for, my ballot is probably safer on my front porch than it would have been last month. Even so, though, I plan to take the bus to the nearest mail drop to mail it in.
St. Pete doesn’t have a lot of Trump followers but the ones we’ve got are fanatics.

Can Texas elections be trusted? Hell to the NO. There is no way that Texans would vote for Bush, Perry (for God knows how many times), and now Abbott without there being some kind of fraud going on. Texans are not stupid…..are we?

    18
  18. Hannah @ 14,

Both Jeb and Harris were crooked. There was a rumor that was quashed quickly by Jeb’s press team that he and Harris were doing the horizontal Hokey Pokey. Imo, that may have happened, given that Jeb’s wife went to Europe and humiliated him when she intentionally didn’t declare thousand of dollars in designer clothes with customs.

  19. Magasoid, Lacy Clay isn’t an old white guy. He’s an old black guy.

  20. Another incident brought to mind by Two Crows, I spend part of the year in a redneck area on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State. I sent a request for an absentee ballot up to Alaska, my state of residence, and several days later it was back in my mailbox, marked undeliverable to this address. I double checked. It was the right address for elections in Alaska. However, the stamp wasn’t cancelled, there was no stamp indicating it even got processed through the post office at Quilcene (They call themselves Quilbillies around here), but there was a forwarding yellow sticker as if it actually did go to Juneau and was forwarded back to me. So it obviously got to the post office here at least but did not go anywhere except returned totally unmarked. I sent another application but mailed it in another town, and I got my ballot just fine. Now I don’t mail anything political here. I don’t trust the local p.o. at all. And like Two Crows I get so much mail from Democratic candidates and organizations when I’m here, that anyone can figure out where my loyalties lie.
