Fun With Guns: Florida Hotel Lobby Edition
Five people were injured in the lobby of the Marriott in Clearwater, Florida, when a patriot with a concealed handgun license reach in his pocket for his wallet and discharge his .9 mm Glock instead.
Among the injured was a two year old and five year old.
Apparently there was no good guy with gun present.
If we’d arm two year olds this kinda stuff wouldn’t happen.
1And why weren’t those children dressed in Kevlar diapers, shirts and shorts?
What kind of parent allows their young child to wander around Florida without the appropriate bullet-proof clothing?????
2Saw a photo online of a recent Florida newspaper– big headline “Shock, Anger After Shooting” is partly obscured by an ad sticker, “GUN SHOW This Weekend.”
CDC has made a map of distinctive death causes in each state– not the top causes, but the cause highest above the national average. To my surprise, “Accidental discharge of firearms” stood out in Alabama and Tennessee, not Texas (TB) or Florida (HIV). “Discharge of firearms, undetermined intent” stood out in Arkansas and Arizona. (Louisiana’s is syphilis– just saying.)

3I’m sure the guy was just standing his ground. Two year olds can be annoying.
4At least a charge of negligent discharge of a firearm was filed – don’t know whether the shooter was arrested or not.
Honestly, do these people carrying guns everywhere really think they live in a war zone? (If they get their news from Fox, probably so…) Here’s an uncomfortable fact: once the bad guys adapt to a gun-carrying population, they’ll shoot first and rob later.
5To my mind, having a gun for “protection,” whether on your person or in your home, is like invading Iraq–instead of protecting you, it puts everyone in greater danger and has incalculable costs.
6This makes me feel really safe. NOT!
75 with one shot. Even John Wayne never shot that good.
8I think we should pass a law mandating that all weapons be holstered or carried with the muzzle aimed at the responsible gun owner’s responsible head.
9Glocks, proof that sometimes new is not better in the hands of incompetent ammosexuals. Considering the number of “accidents” and the relatively too few who manage to neuter themselves, I’m beginning to suspect that the teeny organ they are attempting to embellish is much tinier than we originally suspected.
Suggestion for parents who are beyond apoplectic with gun humpers endangering their children and the authorities handing out less severe penalties than the average library fine for an overdue book: sue the gun nuts in civil court for the trauma they visit upon you and your children.
10daChipster, reference your “responsible head” please clarify the intent, is it to neuter or lobotomize said responsible people? Or, perhaps that is all one and the same action with the Wayne La Pierre crowd.
11Glocks do not have a safety. If loaded, all you need to do is pull the trigger. The irresponsible ass should have had the thing in a holster.
12how many people are going to be shot and killed before some decent and safe laws are passed?
13yellowdoggranny, for us ‘Mericans, none of us will ever live that long.
14PKM, I am stealing the term “gun humpers.”
15Oh I had a long conversation Friday with a friend in Florida who worries about the takeover of the country. I doubt she has a gun but still. I like her so I’ll just keep pointing her toward important things like renewable energy and related topics and hope something sticks.
16Right, PKM, that moron should be sued for everything he’s worth, which is probably not much!
17PKM … the reason the ammosexuals can’t manage to neuter themselves is because they have a very tiny target.
