Welcome to The World's Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc.
My name is Susan DuQuesnay Bankston. I live in Richmond, Texas, in the heart of Tom DeLay's old district. It's nuttier than squirrel poop here.
I am honored and privileged to know Miss Juanita Jean Herownself, hairdresser extraordinary and political maven. Since she does not have time to fiddle with this internet stuff, I type her website for her and you can read it if you want to. If you don't, she truly does not give a big bear's butt.
A lot of what I post here has to do with local politics, but you probably have the same folks in your local government.
This ain't a blog. Blogs are way too trendy for me. This is a professional political organization.
“More afraid of the NRA than ISIS”. The R-Klan in a nutshell.
1Enough is enough! No more of those self serving moments iof silence, thoughts and prayers. No more prayers. obviously God isn’t listening or is letting us stew in our man-made hell.
Re:Link from yesterday on general counsel for NRA worth reading though long. A murderer is the “bad seed” for the NRA position that everyone can have as many guns as they like. Scheeeech.
2The two faces of the NRA or the current NRA that represents the gun manufacturers versus the old NRA that used to teach gun safety. Many here remember the old NRA and were probably respected members. That all changed, when the NRA administration decided to grab a page from the old tobacco lobby playbook. Now down is up and bullets in the chest or head are our choices. Shopping is no longer a contact sport on just Black Friday.
Our Congress varmints have been down this road before, but most of them are suffering from one of 3 things or all three. They forget history, they never read history or they are as fond of NRA lucre as they are of Koch dollars.
To a certain extent the tobacco lobbyists were neutralized. The same can be done to gun nuts with our power of the pen/e-mail, if we inundate our Congress varmints with our concerns. Although in the cases of the NRA and varmints like Daffy Cruz, Jr. neutering may be more accurate a necessity that neutralizing.
3After every massacre, the cry goes up, “They’re comin’ for our guns!” and the ammosexuals rush out to buy even more guns. You’d think the gun makers and their shills the NRA were funding the massacres to sell more guns…..
4I am so tired of having my TV shows interrupted to share hours and days of terrorist activity, both here and overseas. I’m tired of the never-ending shootings of innocent people by others who believe they have some kind of right to indiscriminately kill whenever they feel like it. It is definitely past time to regulate our gun-owning citizenry and teach gun safety rules to those who insist that they need these arsenals for in-home safety. So far, kids left and right are being killed by having the guns easily accessible in their homes and vehicles. Time to end this insanity!
5Just read that in 2016 we will be able to buy guns in the comfort of our own homes. There is being planned a home shopping type network called Gun TV. Words fail me.

6Republicans are political mercenaries, paid by the NRA.
7What’s interesting and a little sad is that both the NRA and AARP sold out to corporate interests years ago, yet the NRA remains powerful.
This country values its guns more than it does its seniors.
8In the Surrendering to Fear Department, I just saw a person on Twitter say “If it’s true the San Bernadino shooters were radicalized, this means ISIS is in California. God help me, I will NOT be a sitting duck.”
9So the non-sitting-duck will run out to buy a gun, or more guns, or bigger guns. I’d hate to be a slightly-less-than-pearly-white person who stops Mr Duck to ask for directions.
10“More afraid of the NRA…”.
Of course they are. The NRA gives them monies. The NRA owns them. Uh… duh!
11Rhea, Mr Duck might wish to consider the possibility with all the terrorist ammosexuals running around with no visible proof of their sanity, someone “standing their ground” just might relieve him of his weapon and his life. Seriously. This is what the open gun toters have unleashed upon themselves and innocent others. Good guy or bad guy with a gun, if they scare you, just open the window and blast them away.
Or, they could do this the easy way and leave their toys at home, properly stored.
12Looks like the radicalization came from the wife, a Pakistani, who allegedly swore allegiance to ISIS and who met the guy on line. He was the original sitting duck, trying to find a wife. She was looking for anyone who could bring her here, and he fell for it. People who knew him said that he changed after he married her.
13Even if you are packing heat, you can be caught by surprise in seconds. The best defense is to always be extremely aware of your surroundings, possible exits or hiding places and have your cell phone with you. Sit near a fire extinguisher if possible.
Maryelle: I appreciate your cautious warning. I do. But I find it impossible to step out in the world with my fear hat on every day expecting some nut with a gun will open fire. I’m sorry I just can’t do that. And if that’s how I now have to live in this country, then I don’t want to live here. And… if that’s the way I have to live in this world, then there’s no reason to live.
14PKM- I too remember that NRA the one that used to conduct gun and hunter safety classes. Those days,I’m afraid are long gone. I feel you might be correct and there is a connection between the NRA and the lawyers and PR firms who represented big tobacco. That would imply some link between ALEC, the Koch bros., big oil, and the lawyers and PR firms.Interesting that oil has hired those same folks. At least we know some of their tactics. The days of that NRA were the same as when I started hunting pheasants and quail with an old JC Steven single shot 12 gauge break action.
15JAKvirginia, we could permanently pack the ‘fear’ hats in deep storage, **if only** Congress would act. Restrict the sales of assault weapons and ammunition; do away with “open carry.” Then the “good guys” are in uniform, have identification and badges, etc.
The rest of us have been safely carrying for years; just not to the supermarket, movies, and odd places. Never was a problem taking the guns to a proper places like a range, hunting etc. We don’t need more guns. What we need is fewer bed wetting ammosexuals with guns. Their combination of crazy & fear is dangerous to them and others.
Every state lege that thinks this “open carry” is a good idea needs to be down range, while the current bozos practice. Let them practice, until they are completely out of ammunition, then collect their toys.
16l’angelomisterioso, the interconnected evil webs begin with the tobacco companies from whom the other interests borrowed the tactics which are now used by the fossil fuel industry and gun manufacturers. Even the once innocent AARP was co-opted by big insurance interests, as were a few of the groups once saving the environment.
You are 100% correct about the Koch games. Their history dates back even further than the brothers. No doubt old Fred Koch and Prescott Bush either knew each other, or had some of the same lawyers. If you are interested in the history of all this, start with the John Birch Society and what was known as the “Seven Sisters” (the oil companies that emerged in the 1890s).
17South Dakota’s wingnut governor said he might expand Medicaid for the poor if they get jobs to be eligible. First he said no expansion, then he said only if the fed pays the state’s share for Indians. Now he is going after the poor, many of whom already work. His administration is awash in scandals where millions are missing and seven people, including four kids are dead. Make sure you disgusting pieces of dogcrap pile on the poor some more.
18It’s a vicious cycle. The more shootings, the more gun sales. The more guns, the more shootings. If big tobacco had only convinced people that the way to cure cancer and emphysema was more cigarettes, they would have never lost there footing. By now smoking would be protected by the Constitution and non-smokers would have to wear gas masks or just stay home.
I see once it was established they were brown, the California shooters were terrorists. If they were white it would have been an isolated incident of workplace violence.
19I guess it’s time to change the old Broadway musical’s name. Annie, Get Your Gun is now Ammy*, Get Your Gun. *Ammy is the nickname for ammosexual.
20Good news from South Dakota. According to the feds no state can attach requirements for Medicaid that are in excess of federal standards. Dakota’s punitive guv cannot force people to find work to receive Medicaid. The state wouldn’t fund the Medicaid for the Reservations so the one emergency room on the Rosebud Rez is being shut down by Uncle Sam. Patients will have to travel to another town in Dakota or a closer one in Nebraska.
21SD snacilbupeR are scum.
22EPO, what if . . . there was a mobile clinic financed by some really wealthy good hearted soul who wouldn’t miss the $$? Just sayin’…
23An early New Year’s wish: Here’s hoping that there will not be a tidal wave of hysteria and paranoia among the electorate that will snatch the presidency from Hill.
