“Free Speech for Me; Not for Thee”

March 13, 2024 By: El Jefe Category: Holy Crap, White Supremacists

Don Lemon of prior CNN fame, did a deal with Elon Musk in January to stream “The Don Lemon Show” on Twitter X doing basically what he did on cable Teevee before getting canned last year.  Well, it’s the shortest run ever, as Lemon reports that he’s already been fired for asking questions of Musk during an interview on his first episode.  No explanation was given and Musk hasn’t said anything so far about what happened.

Musk describes himself as a “free speech absolutist”, but anyone paying attention knows that’s complete bullshit.  After taking over Twitter and working 24/7 to wreck it, he started allowing back thousands of new-Nazis, white supremacists, propagandists, and insurrectionists back on the platform turning it into one gigantic open sewer of lies, hate, threats, and all-around insanity.  He even allowed the Insurrectionist in Chief back on, but he’s too busy vomiting his own bile on Truth Social.

I’ve always found Don Lemon to be mildly annoying myself and never found him interesting so it’s not surprising to me that he’s having trouble finding a new broadcast home.  Having said that, though, a total series run of only a few hours has to be a new world record for rapid failure.  He announced on X that Musk, apparently pissed about the interview, abruptly fired Lemon today with no explanation.  Lemon announced it on X:

Despite what he says, Musk is not actually a “free speech absolutist”.  Far from it.  Musk is all about free speech as long as he agrees with it.  He’s well known for banning reporters, social media posters who are negative about him, and others.  He even falsely labeled NPR as “state affiliated media” like it’s Pravda or something.

One can only hope that Twitter X continues to drain Musk’s wallet and relegated to the dustbin of digital history with past stars like Betamax and 8 track tapes.

Be social and share!

Time for this CHUD to look into the true cause of the Titanic sinking. In person.

El Jefe, hope your last paragraph comes true. Like another extreme narcissist we know, people only exist for their benefit. Everyone else is dispensable. (Un)Truth Social would be a perfect fit for Musk.

  3. Musk is a perfect example of how money doesn’t make you likeable or attractive. He is mostly inexcuseable.

We should start tweaking Musk’s interest in the Titanic, as he apparently doesn’t intend to go to Mars in person.

  5. I don’t know that being annoyed by prying, gossipy questions about One’s personal life (that have been asked a thousand times before) is exactly being anti-free speech.

“What’s your favorite color? What’s your sign? Why did you (owner of rockets/space ships funded by the US Gov’t) meet with a person who might someday be US President?” Duh….

How about asking an intelligent question about an interesting subject? Like “Have you considered starting a colony on the Moon? Or maybe your own Space Station?”

For something to watch early this morning, try a Starship launch that is happening this morning, from Boca Chica Beach* in Deep South Texas!

This should be awesome! The most powerful rocket yet flown, this launch should fire all 33 booster engines. This is an unmanned test flight, the previous two tests ended in ‘constructive’ RUDs [self-destruction], hopefully this will do better.

Liftoff scheduled from 0700h CDT, window lasts until ~0850h or so.

    * I used to wadefish Boca Chica. And sailed off of it from SPI down to the Rio Grande River, back in the ’70-80s. Sometimes hunted the flats too.

Now there’s a freaking Spaceport there.

  7. That was an awesome fantastic Starship launch. Launch sounds just too much, 33 Raptor engines lit up and screaming. The most powerful stages ever launched, with Starship as the biggest vehicle to touch space from earth yet [flight was planned to end before a full orbit].
These are test launches, failures are expected.

This one had a lot of successful milestones. Glitch 1 was the Booster [Stage 1] re-entry, as it descended the engine burns didn’t sequence correctly, so the intended splashdown was harder than planned, about 1000kmh instead of 0kmh.
Starship did great until the re-entry sequence, it lost attitude control, missed retro-burn, and apparently broke up from the heat.
But there was actually video showing the RUD beginning and the massive heating of the Starship, beyond what the tiles could protect from [only has tiles on half of skin].

You can re-watch the stream from Everyday Astronaut’s 4K video stream link:

BTW, he’s actually scheduled to be on an ‘average citizen’ launch in the future. Don’t know the details, but anybody getting a ride like that has my ‘envy’ twitching.

If you want to read Little Bubba (a/k/a Mark Bankston)’s tweet to Aaron Rodgers, it’s here and it’s glorious:

Ya little Bubba, those responses just about cover Aaron Rodgers as a person. Of course now AR is saying he never said what he said. Next he’ll be claiming he got his fat head hit a few too many times. I say hit him again only harder this time. Wonder how many dead Covid victims followed his lead and now how many families are dealing with measles because they listened to him.

Thank you Aaron Rodgers and RFK Jr. I guess your message is having the impact you wanted.

  11. Nick Carraway says:

I’ve often wondered where that 66 billion came from. I’m guessing that Musk is simply a front man for interests that wanted to see X tank. You take your pick. Russia seems to be an easy answer. It could be any of those oil moguls in the Middle East as well. Nothing quite explains the extra cost or the incredibly stupid decisions he has made since buying it. So, it’s a multiple choice of scumbags that are using Musk to tank what was once a fairly popular social medium.
