Florida Wins!

Take a few minutes out of your busy day because you may never get to see anything this damn weird again.

In Florida, Rick Scott refuses to debate Charlie Criss because of a small fan under the podium.

Only booing brings him out.

  1. Wow… That’s going to bring some fallout, huh?

    1
  2. Maybe he thought he’d be up-trousered? Ventilation makes him…um…excited?

What did he THINK would happen when he threw a snit-fit, the crowd would cheer?

    2
  3. And the winner is: The Fan.

    3
  4. Blowing hot air, certainly. The difference is that Crist required a fan to do that; Scott does it with no mechanical assistance.

  5. Unbelievable!!! I saw this on the TV and for the life of me I couldn’t understand what Scott was trying to do, especially to himself! But then, hey, he governed the same damn way as he handled this situation.

  6. This Texas Florida connection disturbs me. Both have Bush sibs as former governors and pRicks as current governors. Rod Serling should be alive to script this for Twilight Zone.

    6
  7. Finally, what the voters have waited for. A debate that both blows, and sucks.

We really know how to stage a debate round here. On a lighter note – windows open and A/C off for second time since April.

  9. Rosemary said that she understood that the debate rules ban “electronics.” I’m not sure a simple electric fan qualifies as “electronics,” which are understood by most of us to be such things as cellphones, recorders, etc., not simple electric appliances. Mr. Scott would seem to be a craven coward. At least he doesn’t live in Texas. We have enough of his ilk here as it is.

  10. Rick wins the guffaw award.

This was pretty dang stupid on Scott’s part. That said, I really feel for Florida voters as they definitely have to choose between the bad and the bad candidates. I read a book by Crist’s DEM leader for Florida and it did not paint a pretty picture of Crist at all. Terribly sad to have no one worth a vote!

  12. The fan! My fan, which is sitting on the low table to my left, is electric, but not electronic. The air conditioner in the window a couple of feet above it IS electronic. It even has a remote control.

  13. On a different note, I hear that voter registration in Texas has
increased tremendously, do any of you guys know if it is
    mainly dem or repub?
Perhaps there is no way of telling, but I hope that Wendy could
be getting a lot of it.

  14. Old Mayfly says:

In defense of Crist, as Florida gov he set up a state-wide simple voting system with a paper-trail.

No more 2000-style elections with counties using different methods. And no new-style “just trust the Diebold machine” elections with no way to verify or recount.

An easy-to-use, verifiable voting system for the whole state is a laudable accomplishment.
