Lauren Arthur, a former middle school teacher, just won a Missouri State Senate seat in a District that went for Trump by 5. She didn’t just squeak by either she beat the Republican by +19! This is the 42nd state legislative flip since Trump won — and the 26th won by a woman.
1Well, it looks like California came through the Jungle Primary okay, with no party shutouts, or possibly one.
And despite all the trash being talked about her, Feinstein made a very strong showing.
What di y’all think about Gavin Newsom for Governor?
2I noticed in Montana the assaultive nacilbupeR Greg Giantfart won his primary and the Dems settled on Kathleen Williams. Ms Williams needs world-wide Dem support in order to defeat this Giantfart fellow. Giantfart is white and male in a state where white and male privilege prevails. In addition Giantfart is unnaturally wealthy having sold a software company for huge dollars. And finally Giantfart aligns himself with the nacilbupeR party and Montana of late seems to vote overwhelmingly nacilbupeR.
Can Dems flip Montana? Prolly not. But it would be good for the overall politics of the country for Giantfart to have to campaign hard for this job that he was basically given a few months ago. (In spite of being an assaultive personality.)
3Well, Elizabeth Warren just scrapped by 1% in California’s 76th.
