Welcome to The World's Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc.
My name is Susan DuQuesnay Bankston. I live in Richmond, Texas, in the heart of Tom DeLay's old district. It's nuttier than squirrel poop here.
I am honored and privileged to know Miss Juanita Jean Herownself, hairdresser extraordinary and political maven. Since she does not have time to fiddle with this internet stuff, I type her website for her and you can read it if you want to. If you don't, she truly does not give a big bear's butt.
A lot of what I post here has to do with local politics, but you probably have the same folks in your local government.
This ain't a blog. Blogs are way too trendy for me. This is a professional political organization.
I can’t believe it. At Bing, TX is leaning towards Biden at 7:15 CST. May it turn into a win for Bident!
1Polls soon closing in the west. Ms. JJ. Thank you for keeping the WMDBS open. Not sure how sound you sleep, but should Texas turn blue the honking horns will be awesome. If we have a Biden/Harris victory in the next couple of hours, we double dog dare you to even try sleeping through the celebratory noise.
2ABC is just reporting MJ Hegar and Lizzie Fletcher with nice leads. Hope that holds.

5I been down this road once or twice before. Goodnight, Dog bless, see ya on the 5th or 6th or next month.
6ABC is floating the idea that Trump is somehow skimming off black male voters, or at least maybe enough of them. Seriously? I really don’t think they’re that stupid.
7Yeah, I know Biden is the lesser of two evils. Well actually the choice between democracy and fascism. But still…
8The Teachout tweet a few replies back is about the Democratic leaders pushing McGrath in Kentucky. I guess I should have done more research on her and saved my money. Although I do say that it’s too early to call anything given all the mail-in ballots, except in the states where they were allowed to be counted before election day. Actually I don’t know if Kentucky is one of those, come to think of it. I just know I hate McConnell.
9I’m nervous as hell. You folks need to talk me off the ledge.

Remind me not to move to Tyler. Gohmert with nearly 75%?
13Know we are supposed to remain calm, but this is beginning to feel much like 2016.
14Worrisome, is the polling which shows that 47% of folks thought the handling of the corona virus was okay.
Thank you so much for the link to the Tribune reporting. There is a state board of education see that the Democrats did not even run a candidate for?? What’s up with that??
15There were Texas house districts were the Democrats did not run a candidate???? What??
16Vic @13, Use this link and you’ll find a lot of Texas red counties that run 85-95% Repuke, many more at 70-80%. Waiting to see mine.
Something that really really sucks is to see how many 70-99% Hispanic pop [my old homeplaces] counties are voting ~40-47% Repuke. So much for all that Hispanic sucking up by Democrats. That number should be below 20%, 15% tops.
https://apps.texastribune.org/features/2020/general-election-results/
[Whoever programmed that link should be electrocuted. The incredibly stupid, utterly useless lower ‘popup’ steals ~1/3 of the usable reading area. Even zooming down it’s a major pain in the ass. These cretinous ‘webpage designer’ scriptkiddies drive me effing nuts.]
17Correction.
“are voting ~40-47% Repuke” should be 40-52%. Like Nueces County.
18Nick C.- I’ve been trying to stay positive but I’m like you. Seems if Biden can win 3 states Trumpf won in 2016 and hold everything else HRC won, Trumpf is in trouble. That’s like a +6. So far that’s not being projected, but it’s early still.
19Don’t see us knowing in the next hour, but I’m hoping..
There’s already the Trumpf campaign court filings that will muddy the water for at least the next 48 hours.
Damn
Well I appreciate that Texas Tribune link. I’ll use it as a reference for where not to move to.
20The AP is ahead of the networks. They’ve called it for Cornyn and McConnel and Texas is leaning red. Ohio is as well. Pennylsvania and Minnesota are leaning blue. Hopefully, that will be enough.
21The independent just tweeted an article about best places to move to if Trump wins. Yeah right. Only if you have lots of money.
22Let us all not forget the role voter suppression is playing in all of this. Republicans only win if they cheat. In most places. Maybe not deep east Texas.
23Cornyn and now Miss Lindsay!
24Damn the stupid people to Hell!
Lindsey? Oh no no no no no.
A little antidote here?

I don’t know why I’m even watching this. With all the mail-in ballots and all the different rules in different states it’s not going to be over until at least tomorrow.
26The Texas Tribune rules. Thank you to the person who gave me the link. That’s journalism.
27Oh my gosh look at that gerrymandered mess for Texas 22. I still remember making phone calls and getting a splitting headache for Nick Lampson where I had to drive way over to somewhere near NASA.
28Oh my God it gets worse. Look at Texas second and the gerrymander. This gerrymandering and voter suppression in corporate media garbage is the problem.
29Corporate media should not just be blindly talking about this while they display those disgusting Maps. They should be talking about how the districts are gerrymandered.
30Cornyn shut up from what I saw on your ads you are scuttling away from Trump as fast as you can. And I have no doubt you’ll Scuttle back if God forbid he wins. Interesting how none of the Republican ads that I saw said they were a Republican. But they’ll Scuttle back if Trump wins. And if Trump wins it will be by cheating.
31And I still want to know who are the incredible jerks who will vote for Trump. They’re either racist misogynistic homophobic, or put their self-interest above everything else. If I’ve forgotten anything let me know.
32The only people profiting from this circus are the same people who profited from the Gold Rush. The merchants.
33A calming voice of wisdom.

34On the one hand, I have all my kids and all but one of my grandkids concentrated in the DFW area.
4 years ago tomorrow, on the way to the office, I decided to retire because dealing day in and day out with Tea Partiers had always been iffy, but I knew they would be insufferable in victory.
Following 2016 election, my little bride and I discussed, seriously, leaving Texas for a blue state, but the aformentioned grandboys scattered around DFW scotched that idea.
I am genuinely concerned that as both of us are 67 with underlying health conditions, either or both of us will not survive another 4 years of Republican ineptness.
I feel like dropping out for a while and drinking enough coffee to get further through the grief cycle. I find myself stuck in anger, seething.
35Oh that’s a terrible Gap in the cornyn race. I can’t afford to move back to California, but I’m really looking at the places in Texas where they had only a Democrat running.
36There are idiots in California too. Just not so many of them. Try East San Diego County.
37By back, I do not mean back where I was born. I was born in Dallas. I do not mean where I was raised either. I was raised in East Texas. But you go with the odds if you can afford it. Unfortunately I can’t.
38Another piece of good news
https://www.lgbtqnation.com/2020/11/taylor-small-will-vermonts-first-transgender-legislator/
39We’re doomed.
Trucking Fump is ahead in the e-college (similar to e-coli, it gives us the sh*ts) count.
40Wait until all the votes are counted. The early mail-in votes are mostly for Biden, and some of those won’t be counted for days. Trump may declare that he’s the winner, but we know he’s a liar.
41MI says they’ll be counting til Friday. Buckle in for a long haul, but I think we’ll get there.
42A thought that has been banging around in my head for a good loooooong while now, like maybe say at least four years — if cheating to win is OK why do we even have referees for sports? Why do we even have rules of play? Why not just let the games/events be free-for-alls and the team/person who cheats the most wins?
Ah, America of the double standard and rank hypocrisy.
43Back to the past. Yesterday was the last day of voting. The first time all states voted on the same day was 1848.
The reason was new technology. When votes were reported at the speed of horses or (at the fastest) by railroads there was no particular reason to synchronize voting. It was the spread of the telegraph that led the country to adopt a uniform election day.
Now our communications are much easier but the need for synchronizing elections has almost disappeared (and I am not even thinking about romanticists who propose using cell phones so everybody can vote on every issue, true democracy).
44My thoughts are not pure at the moment. NV district 2 appeared to be awakening, but somehow Mark Amodei kept his House seat. The Senate results soap, and Orange Foolius did not receive the “get out of town” message in the overwhelming numbers it should be. Do people not care?
45I’d forgotten this anecdote from the ’70s but back then, an MD/rancher in Corpus Christi mentioned illegal immigrants down there were often turned in by legal immigrants because they were all competing for the same jobs. If true, wondering this morning if that conflicts with our assumption that since republicans border policies would turn legal immigrants anti-Republican.
46John @46, I meant,
If true, wondering this morning if that conflicts with our assumption that republicans border policies would turn legal immigrants anti-Republican.
47At the moment, Biden is ahead of tRump in votes and electoral college count. I’ve never seen so many states too close to call. Digits twisted regarding the uncounted votes all over the place.
48Even if Joe wins, the country is still going to be a dangerous place to live what with all sorts of “militias” sprouting up like dandelions in the spring. Can’t wait for Canada to open its border! I would breathe easier just knowing that.
