Dude, MS Did Not Mean Mississippi

March 18, 2013 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Ted Cruz, the junior Senator from what is left of the Great State of Texas, voted against a resolution commemorating Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Week.

You wanna know why?

You don’t wanna know but I’m going to tell you anyway.

“Senator Cruz does not oppose the substance of the MS resolution, and he never did,” his spokesman said.  “Unfortunately, the sponsors of this resolution circulated their request for unanimous consent less than 48 hours before they wanted it passed.”

Cruz says his staff needed time to read it because who the hell know what manner of kindness and sympathy might be extended to the vultures who catch MS on purpose just to draw a taxpayer handout.

And look, I don’t want to be mean, but …. how long does it take to have someone on your staff read a non-binding resolution.  I mean, I understand that whole pointing at each word and sounding it out thing, but 48 hours?  Really?

But who is really to blame for Senator Cruz’s behavior?  Democrats.  Of damn course.   The member of his staff who doesn’t have time to read but can run her mouth on wind power said the fault lies with the …. “Senate Democratic staff, instead of working to ensure unanimous consent, instead decided to leak this story to try to malign Senator Cruz.”

Yep, the Democrats did it in the parlor with a candlestick.  Maligned this man.  For shame on them.

He’s a jerk, y’all.  A total jerk.

Be social and share!

  1. Sam in Kyle says:

Because there’s so much controversy about MS.

    1
  2. He probably thought it had something to do with saying Ms is OK, instead of using Miss or Mrs.

    2
  3. Because he’s going to blame everything on Democrats and vote against anything any Democrat is for. Can we trick him into voting against saying the Pledge of Allegiance? Can we trick him into throwing mud on the flag because Democrats say you shouldn’t throw mud on the flag?

The Devil’s Advocate strikes again. Too busy spewin’ at CPAC.

    4
  5. Why does Ted Cruz hate Ann Romney?

  6. Marge Wood says:

MS has a big group that works on these things. I sent this to my friend with MS. He is not going to be happy.

    6
  7. 6 more years of “Carnival” Cruz ahead of you. You have my deepest sympathy.

    7
  8. John Peter Henson says:

Carnival Cruz………bwahahahahaha thanks I needed that.

  9. Elise Von Holten says:

My big problem is he reminds me of the Pillsbury dough boy, why I don’t know–pasty, puffy half-baked…I am not sure who is in charge of choosing the repugs that run in Texas, but I would be ashamed to be one…six years–I am so sorry.
Maybe after that with a lot of truth telling, the older ones will be gone and the Dems can come up with someone great. I really hope so.

  10. Don A in Pennsyltucky says:

Wonkette suspects it is because of the phrase “expanded access to medical”…

    10
  11. Ninty nine Senators supported this resolution and the Democrats tricked you into opposition? Okie Dokey then.

    11
  12. OMG! I know someone battling MS. It is a miracle she has lived as long as she has but with Cruz and his mentality around, her days may be even more numbered than ever before. So he picks a resolution on multiple sclerosis to show that he is not at the beck and call of even a decent resolution, that he is such a big shot he needs all the time in the world to read and make up his mind on something like this? Wow! And he was born in the cabin he built hisownself! This guy is setting himself up for one helluva fall.

    12
  13. At Elise: I think he looks like a computer-generated avatar. It’s really good graphics, but he just doesn’t quite look human. And the smile doesn’t reach his eyes. And like any computer he has no moral system. Just 1’s and 0’s.
Another observation: Sarah Palin made a birther “joke” at CPAC. Do you think this might mean the Repugs don’t see Cruz going very far? Because his birth is the same as the president’s with one twist. American mother, foreign father (who fought with Castro therefore communist?), but *really* born in a foreign country. We can always hope.

    13
  14. No one has to TRY to malign Cruz, he’s already malignant.

    14
  15. What a pathetic, hate filled little man.

    15
  16. Somewhat OT, but since you brought up Cruz and Democrats:

I think we should keep hammering away at the fact that his father fought on the same side as Fidel Castro. If a Democrat were running for Senate with that piece of trivia, you know the right wing smear machine would make sure everybody knows it.

    16
  17. Elizabeth says:

I’m always aware of MS – I’ve got it. I wish the hell it were contagious. I’d go to D.C. and breathe on Ted.

    17
  18. Sam in Kyle says:

Isn’t his staff supposed to vet things for him? Is he missing a rod and a staff?

    18
  19. Shelly Allen in damn Tyler says:

I am tellin’ y’all he is Count damn Chocula! Sheesh!

    19
  20. Could somebody please tell Cruz that Democrats are strongly in favor of not juggling running chainsaws and not drinking rat poison?

    20
  21. TexasEllen says:

Carnival Cruz is likely to come out against school lunches, math education, and building codes when he finds out Democrats favor such.

    21
  22. Fred Farnsworth says:

Thankfully Cruz is peaking 5 1/2 years early!

    22
  23. Sometimes, there are no words.

    23
  24. Uncle Dave says:

A few years ago I attended a bar luncheon where Cruz had been invited to speak. My immediate impression was that he was a snake. Nothing Cruz has said or done since changes that impression.

    24
  25. MCPO Ret says:

I’m tellin’ you folks, Cruz is a plant by Wasserman-Shultz.

    25
  26. @Sam in Kyle, love your line “no rod and no staff”, hilarious. And, along with Fred, I hope that Cruz is peaking now, soon to be serving the rest of his term in disgrace.

    26
  27. Cruz wouldn’t support the bill because the sponsor, Bob Casey, is a Democrat, pure and simple.

EMoon: I like your suggestions for dealing with oppositional behavior.

    27
  28. gabberflasted says:

What is it about ‘non-binding’ does this fool not understand?

    28
  29. My wife says Cruz is an a**hole just for the sake of being an a**hole. I think that sums it up. @Elizabeth, my former cycling team captain, who has MS, was named Elizabeth. Everytime I hear about MS I think of her!
