Does Anybody Want To Guess Where Hooks, Texas, Is?
Oh yeah, deep in the bowels of East Texas, where men are men and sheep are scared, comes just the kind of school board member you want making decisions for our children. Hooks, Texas, is a small town where the population is 86% white and the mean household income is $32,085 a year.
Chris Harris, a school board member, took to Facebook and posted this lovely picture of a KKK member all gussied up in drag with the comment, “I’m dreaming of a white Christmas.”
When the three Democrats in town complained, Harris responded that it “was meant as a joke,” and “I am by no way racist as this got taken way out of context.”
Hummm … pardon me while I ponder, what the hell other context is there?
Maybe you can explain the non-racist way that picture is meant.
Once again, I am sure you can appreciate why I have great difficulty in believing that the three wise men came from the east.
Thanks to everybody and Aunt Matilda for the heads up.
Once again, I am speechless.
1Huh.
2I think maybe the three wise men came from a lot further east. A LOT.
And yes, that is creepy.
3No one knows how many wise men there were. There were three gifts.
4🙂
Why sure, of course, how could we mistake the Klucker in the pointy hat for anyone other than Caspar the Friendly Ghost?
5Lookie there, Louie Gohmert! That there dunce cap is too big for that fella’s haid.
6Interesting choice of words…MEAN household income. Double entendre intended?? 🙂 Pretty clear from this post that there is at least one mean household in Hooks, TX.
7The report that the mean annual household income in Hooks is $32,000 suggests that past references to “$20.000 a year millionaires” should be updated a bit, to say, $30,000 a year millionaires. The profits from the manufacture of meth and from arson almost certainly contribute to the mean. Hooks is located in the northeast corner of Texas identified by TV stations in Shreveport La. as the Arklatex, but Oklahoma is close enough to share the blame. For all that, we have a place there, and love it.
8Maybe it’s just because I am one of those north-east librulls, but I can’t separate the name “Hooks” from “hookworm”.
9When I was in school, wearing a pointed hat meant you were a dunce. I guess a pointed hood means the same.
10Sigh.
11If the context is Texas then I have no difficulty believing that the three wise men came from the east. Also, all the other smart people came from the east. Which explains who is left in the east of Texas.
12Since these guys are wearing hoods does that mean the cops get to shoot them? Or does that only work for hoodies?
13With apologies….. to Momma.
I don’t give a damn where Hooks, Texas is. Where ever it is…. It is populated by idiots.
14I’m with PKM. This is more likely a Halloween pitcher not a Christmas pitcher. faithful followers of Brother John Birch
15who belong to the Antioch Baptist Church. do not tolerate racism.
What really clues me in to the fact that this guy is absolutely a racist -I mean apart from the post itself – is the way he directed his apology to the African-American community, as though they are the only people who would be offended by this. The idea that there might be white people who were just as deeply offended never entered his mind.
16There is only one context for the KKK.
17If Chris Harris likes a White Christmas so much, all dressed up in that white outfit with matching white hat, he might consider making it even whiter.
Chris, and I say this in the same spirit of the season as your “Christmas” card, go flock yourself.
(Mama, of course I mean that fake snow stuff they spray on trees)
18Baby Jesus wept.
19Ever notice how racists are always being taken “way out of context”? They always seem to be the victims of some kind of misunderstanding.
20Not only is he a racist, he is also a coward attempting to lie his way out of the message he was sending. Of course, men who wear white hoods are intrinsically cowardly and ashamed to let anyone see just who the devil they are.
