Do What I Say, Not What I Do

August 10, 2018 By: El Jefe Category: Alt-Right Racists, Alternative Facts, Trump

From the very early days of the campaign, His Orangeness has railed against all things not White American Male – all dark skinned people, especially women, ALL women, for that matter, and immigration, both legal and undocumented.  His rhetoric is continuously over the top, hateful, and racist.  He loves to dehumanize migrants with inflammatory terms like “illegals”, “animals”, and “aliens”.  His favorite pejorative, though, is “chain migration”.  The actual term is “family reunification” which has been allowed by the US government for decades where a documented migrant to the US could sponsor their spouse and children to join them in the states.  In some cases, a migrant’s parents are admitted into the country to join the family.  It’s humane, decent, and, I might add, very difficult.  It takes years to unify families through our broken system.

But in Trumpland, “chain migration” has been weaponized and is now used by Trumpists to be bigots in polite society.  Trump has repeated the falsehood (even during the State of the Union) that “chain migration” allows immigrants to bring “unlimited” people to the United States.  The statement, in short, is simply a lie.  It’s not true, and has never been true, but the term is in high repeat in conservative circles.

Trump’s problem, though, is that the very system he rails against just allowed Melania Trump (You remember her, right?  She’s the nude model from Slovenia who is now our First Lady.) to bring in her parents through “chain migration”.  AND, said parents, Viktor and Amalija Knavs, became US citizens yesterday.  That’s right, folks, the very system that Trump demands that Congress end just allowed his in-laws to become American citizens. Now, the Knavs are probably perfectly nice people who are fortunate to have friends in high places who could grease the skids for them attain US citizenship, which millions of others have been waiting decades for.  That’s not the problem.  The problem is the now-familiar hypocrisy.

This kind of hypocrisy shouldn’t be surprising.  Trump’s entire personal foundation is built on lies, cheating, and hypocrisy.  Rules apply to everyone else, but not Trump.  He’s immune from common decency or common sense.  Worse, the White House refuses to address any of his hypocrisy, including the “chain migration” lie, and the invertebrates in Congress, terrified of losing their power, do nothing to stop it.  That’s why it’s up to us to shine the light on Trump’s lies and fight fire with fire.

There is a place for anger, and THIS is it.

Be social and share!

  1. Of course The Con is a hypocritical racist.
But with most things Trump—-it’s personal.

Some might claim he is just being his old hypocritical self and is reveling in the hypocrisy of his wife’s parent’s (chain migration) to this country.
Because–you know– they are white and from a place that is non-shithole in his estimation.

I say he is even more vitriolic about the subject because he hates his wife’s parents and gets a dig in every time he can.

  2. If it weren’t for double standards, he’d have no standards at all…

    2
  3. OK.

If that’s such a problem, let’s start by sending back all of 45’s wives’ families…

    {*snark/*}

  4. Hypocrite and Trump are interchangeable terms.
He’s totally devoid of morals, ethics, and any principles.

  5. If chain migration is so wrong it should be wrong for all. Hypocrite, as well as pence and how his family arrived in the USA. A lot of families are here by being sponsored. Nothing wrong with that as I see it. trump thinks only bad people are immigrants, thank you very much we can grow are own bad people. Timothy McVay is the guy who always comes to mind as our own home grown terrorist! That being said, to Melania’s parents Welcome.

  6. Dump’s brain is so deficient that he may not be able to connect the dots between his wife’s parents being given citizenship and other families seeking the same kind of reunification. He latches on to a catchphrase weaponized by the far right and shouts it to the heavens to please his low information base, smiling and laughing and so pleased with himself. Besides, the Republican
Congress does nothing but enable this lunatic, so who cares?
People with conscience and intelligence care and will show him the consequences in November.

  7. The thing that disturbs me about 45’s wife’s parents, is that Melania’s father had close ties (and still might, who knows?) with the Communist party. That used to be an automatic disqualifier for US citizenship some time back.

  8. Lunargent says:

I saw Melania’s parents on TV, and her father has a passing resemblance to Trump, and seems to be about the same age. So a bit of an Ick Factor there.

  9. Maryelle:
I have to disagree. He knows exactly the comparison between his in-laws and everybody else who isn’t connected to him or anyone else devoted to rape our country.
    Malignant Narcissist.
    Just sayin.

    9
  10. Chain migration is when other people bring family members to America.

Owning the libs is when Trump marries a foreigner, and brings their family members to America.

If, in the 1950’s Americans had discovered Senator Joe McCarthy was a communist while he hunted other communists, and his supporters found that acceptable, it would be a close comparison to Trump’s incessant level of MAGA approved hypocrisy.

  11. Pertinent to the communications re: hate, hypocrisy and so on, there will be a memorial in Charlottesville, VA this weekend which will hopefully send a counter message on hate, hypocrisy and such. I had hoped to retire to that area and the constant rain of circumstances on my life has delayed that venture and produced some teeth grinding. However, I stepped back to get an almost long view and will base any further movement to that area on what happens this weekend and on into next week. The revolting development of last year falls not only on the racist actions (and racist reactions from tRump) but the failure of the city police as well. Ditto the state Homeland Security office. Did you all know that every state has one of those? Check them out. It could be really eye opening.

  12. Buttermilk Sky says:

I assume the Knavses (?) were able to prove their pure Ayran blood going back at least four generations. So what’s the problem? Look for them in Charlottesville.

  13. So what’s mom doing headed for a Marine helicopter, to where, and aboard which aircraft? Remember the repugnant assaults on Michelle Obama’s mother living in the WH?

  14. two crows says:

“[T]he invertebrates in Congress, terrified of losing their power,”

are actually going to lose that power because they refused to stop the corruption they know tRump is not only engaging in but growing.

    Oops.
