Ding. Dong. The Witch is …

Y’all, Phyllis Schlafly went to the great beyond today.  That loud gasp you heard is Phyllis discovering that God is liberal black woman who wants to have a little chat with her.

Phyllis was 92 years old, proving once again that the good die young.

  1. Maybe those of a mind to react publicly to Mrs Shafly’s demise should follow Mark Twain’s advice, “I did not attend his funeral, but I sent a nice letter saying I approved of it.”

I vow to somehow do so.

  2. Yeah, she pretty much axed the ERA that I fought so hard for. But Karma knows her name and she had to live through stuff she thought was straight out of Hell: more girls and women involved in competitive sports and winning awards (Olympics); women in space (remember Sally Ride? She was just the first.) and more women making it in very demanding fields such as medicine, and O Lord, women as Attorneys General, Secretaries of State, women Senators (like Liz Warren), and Chiefs of Police like Kathy Lanier in D.C., and on and on! She actually might have thought she won, but time, tide and history was over running her smug, ignorant, just plain meanness. I can remember when Eagle Forum was one helluva big thing then it disappeared. People thought she had actually died long, long ago (including me). Tells ya lot doesn’t it?

When I saw her recently at a Trump rally I thought, Good Lord, that thing on her head has died. Now she’s joined it. Her stylist has to be soooo relieved! It’s great day in the neighborhood! Schlafly’s dead, Pence is gone from Indiana, things are looking up!

Frankly, I think she is in a particular portion of Tartarus, being escorted by the Furies, from pillar to post.

The idea, the conviction that women were full people, with all the rights and responsibilities, as men, in the early 70s was radical. Still is in some parts. But the U.S. was on a roll. Three more states … Until she came along.
    No tears.

I really detested that awful woman. And Rabble… good on ya. I wish I had been there, too. Thank you for sharing the story.

I propose taking up a collection of urine samples, renting a cropduster, and bombing her funeral cortège.
