  1. how soon can we have Gov. Hidalgo?

  2. I watched American Experience: The Vote, on PBS about the women who fought for their rights, who campaigned and marched so they could participate in American politics.

It took long enough, too long, but thank God for the 19th Amendment and Lina Hidalgo because the men (above) sure ain’t getting it done.

Forgive the proofreader in me, El Jefe, but that should be “Whose,” not “Who’s”, which is the contraction for “who is.” On the other hand, they’re all the problem. Otherwise, spot on.

    Spot on!

This is such a national tragedy. Already passed the Vietnam war, and closing in on WWII. You could add several others to the pictures of Trump, Pence, Abbott and Patrick- like DeSantis, Ducey (and several others). Thankfully we have Governors and others that have stood up to Trump. The school reopenings could be even more catastrophic if states follow Trumps demands. Some will. This had become what Trump thinks is a campaign issue. It’s a death wish for any governor that goes along with it. Would hate to live in those states.

    Steve from Beaverton @ 5:
Florida is cursed. Not just DeSantis is getting in on the act but our education commissioner, as well. He has declared that ALL Florida schools MUST reopen next month — specifically on August 18.

Hey! It’s not fair to ask only our oldsters to die for the economy! We’ve got to let the kids do their part, too.

  7. Off topic, but how about we rename Fort Hood, changing it to Fort Alexander Vindman?

    7
  8. Excuse me Ted @7, I think someone has already called dibs on Fort Vindman for Fort Bragg. đŸ˜‰

  9. Opinionated Hussy says:

If I had kids in school, they would be home-schooled next year. Herod was one of those who thought sacrificing children to his own political goals was okay, and we all know how he ended. Maggots.

    9
  10. Can Vindman be reinstated and promoted under President Biden?

  11. Gov. Hidalgo, YEAH – rock on !

  12. Brad in Dallas says:

Re: renaming Fort Hood, how about Fort Granger, after the Union general who announced the end of slavery on June 19, 1865, in Galveston?

  13. Alyssa Burgin says:

You guys do realize it was an old dude, almost 80-year-old Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff, who concocted the scheme—along with input from H-E-B, to have businesses require masks, right? Your county judge is younger, but ours is schooled in gubernatorial manipulation, having been a member of the Texas legislature. His scheme worked, and thanks to it, we got Assbutt to pretend that was they key to the friggin puzzle, the way to pull the sword from the rock. Thank goodness for County Judge Wolff. He and Mayor Ron Nirenberg have been kicking butt since Day One of this disaster.

Abbott and Patrick have blood on their hands. They could have taken action to save Texas citizens; instead, they pimped for trump. Unforgivable.
