Coming Apart At The Seams
Looking back, you’ve really got to hand it to Richard Nixon for holding it together so well there at the end. I mean, he went around crying and talking to the pictures on the wall in the White House but hell, that’s nothing.
“If the Democrats are successful in removing the President from office (which they will never be), it will cause a Civil War like fracture in this Nation from which our Country will never heal,” Trump tweeted, adding his own parenthetical to a quote from Robert Jeffress, a Southern Baptist preacher speaking on “Fox & Friends Weekend” on Sunday.
It’s gibberish, I understand that. If America is not successful in removing Trump, then what the hell is this warning about?
He’s threatening Civil War? Civil Damn War?
If Robert Jeffers and his evangelical mob think civil war is the answer, then they are not very evangelical. Jesus, after all, is the prince of peace.
These are some creepy damn people, y’all, and the civil war they are talking about won’t be north against south, it’s be neighbor against neighbor.
Besides, most of them will retreat to their survivalist bunkers and eat the pails of food they have stored up because they are anxious to use that stuff. I say we lock them in there for about two years and then let them out one by one – in Mexico.
There will not be a civil war.
There will be (and already have been) multiple acts of right-wing terrorism. Trump and Jeffers are clearly trolling for more such, using that as a mobster threat:
1“Nice little civil order you’ve got here; be a shame if some lone wolf decided to shoot it up.”
Wait until they are all inside their bunkers, then padlock them from the outside and pour cement over all the vents. Problem solved.
2fear!
Fear!!
FEAR!!!
They are coming to take you guns and (racial/religious/gender) animus away from you.
Ignore the thieving con artist behind the curtain, though…
3Jeffers and other mega church moguls threaten civil war because they know that when the democrats take over the white house and senate, their tax exempt status will disappear.
4J.J.
Mexico? Don’t we have some empty chain-link wall cells in Guantanamo? It would be cheaper. No S.S. needed.
5Hard as it is to believe, FOX just might pull our nuts out of the fire.
I’ve been reading, all over the place, that FOX is about ready to throw in the towel on Trump and run the other way as hard as it can. Because, like Trump and the Republican Party at large, they’re ever-ready to put their paychecks and their power ahead of anything they might have declared allegiance to in the past. So, Trump goes down and FOX does an about-face and becomes the loudest voice on the scream-team against him. Problem solved.
And, since FOX tells his followers what to think, and because they will stand to attention and salute, the vast majority will say, “Never voted for that traitor! Nope. Not me!”
Civil War averted.
We must all remember to send thank you notes.
6Well, no.
I suspect they will call FOX the traitor and find some other rabid right wing site to follow. (I hope I’m wrong.)
7Tim Snyder who wrote On Tyranny was on Rachel Maddow’s show Friday. It made me go back and re-read it. I would advise anyone with four bucks and who has the stamina to read about 80 pages to get it and read it. It’s scary but it puts a lot of Trump’s attempted reign in context.
8Speaking of “pails of food,” watch the short video below as
Jim Bakker hocks his “bucket loads” of survival food! It’s a friggen hoot!

9Accusations of Trump’s manipulation aside, let’s not forget his pure reptilian narcissism, that he believes there are billions of staunch Trump lovers all over the globe that would throw themselves into flames wearing gasoline underwear rather see Trump insulted in any way.
10I just got hold of the book “Arrogance of Power” by Anthony Summers, about ol’ Tricky Dick. When Nixon was talking to the paintings in the White House, he was drunk and possibly cranked up on other drugs. Trump has no such excuse, except for being under the influence of Reverend Cratippus the Bloviator.
And that alleged religous leader has talked to “thousands and thousands of people” in the past week. Maybe if he was giving a sermon in a megachurch, but no way he talked WITH that many people. That’s at least 24 people an hour, 7 days a week, 24 hours each day. WTH don’t reporters ever call out these ridiculous claims?
11Besides, most of them will retreat to their survivalist bunkers *with all their guns and ammo* and eat the pails of food they have stored up because they are anxious to use that stuff.
FIFY
12Firearms sales used to jump every time Obama’s name was mentioned, but business has been slow since January 2017. perhaps this will move more firearm product.
13If there’s another Civil War, I hope Trump calls his side (with the white supremacists, again) the Counterfeit States of America.
14First – Trump doesn’t literally say there would be a civil war, he says he thinks he’s such a big deal that he’s worth causing a civil war over. You know. Like slavery. Trump ain’t as big a deal as slavery. Hell there hasn’t been anything else as big a deal as slavery for this country.
Second – Jeffers. When talking about him and evangelicals in general keep in mind their Christianity is not the religion OF Jesus (who, after all, was Jewish), it’s a religion ABOUT Jesus. You know. That blond, blue eyed guy in their paintings that rode a T-Rex into battle against the Romans and all them other non-believers and dictated the Constitution to George Washington.
15Fred Farklestone: thanks for the link to Bakker’s show: it was too much for me. I only watched about a minute and then gagged on my avocado toast.
