Cleaning the Gene Pool: Two Wheeler Edition
It’s Florida. What can I say?
A cyclist died after accidentally shooting himself on Thursday afternoon, police said.
After reviewing video from nearby businesses and talking to witnesses, detectives determined that Smith was riding his bike when the handgun he was carrying in his jacket pocket discharged.
The good guy with a gun was riding a tricycle.
What happened to the first rule when you handle a weapon?
Treat the gun as if it’s loaded and ready to fire!
I have no sympathy what-so-ever for those people that shoot and kill themselves! The way I see it, it’s mother-nature’s way of culling out the ignorant!
1Same here. No sympathy what so ever. One less stoopid ammosexual. Just so glad he didn’t kill an innocent.
2My momma always said, either do one or the other but not both at the same time.
65 years later she’s still right.
3A possible Darwin Award winner??
4Reminded of a phrase from a book by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle – “Just think of it as evolution in action…”

6Thanks for posting on Friday a tale with such a happy ending.
Definite Darwin Award candidate. I hope he didn’t breed first.
7Fred Farklestone, I’m afraid they do treat the gun as if it’s loaded and ready to fire. For them that means showing off and aiming it at something, whether on purpose or by accident is irrelevant. Guns function for some people the way jewelry does for others.
8If it wasn’t the gun that killed this guy,it must have been the bullet. Guns don’t kill people, guns with bullets kill people. Ban bullets. Or motorcycles or maybe it was the cobblestones.
9His relatives will probably try to sue the bicycle manufacturer. It must have been the bike that created a situation causing the gun to discharge. It couldn’t have been the gun, or the gun owner.
How can we let our children continue to ride these dangerous contraptions?
10Locked and loaded to ride a two wheeler? How in God’s name does that make any sense????????????????????????
11I gotta go with e platypus onion on this ‘un. Handguns are absolutely safe. It’s them d*mn bullets going off that causes all the problems.
12It was a bicycle not a motorcycle. And to some extent, I can sympathize with the guy. When I was an avid bicycler I used to carry a BB pistol in my handlebar bag because once you get out of town, the dogs are more fierce and less restrained. Non-lethal force was justified. But a loaded fire arm in a jacket pocket is still stupid. No matter where or when.
