Question

July 21, 2016 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Okay, here’s the deal.  Every damn time Donald Trump is asked how’s he’s going to make American great again, he answers that he’s going to hire real smart people because President Obama hired dumb people to solve our problems.

That seems to be his answer to every question asking for specifics about his economic and foreign policy plans: I will hire smart people.

So, my question is this.  Where the fool tarnation are all those smart people he hired to run his campaign and this convention?

Hell, the man can’t even run a four day convention without screwing up everything to South Siberia and back.

Verdelia has a theory that he’s screwing things up for a reason, and that reason is to keep people from noticing that he doesn’t have any plans.  Last night, the theme was “making American work.”  Obviously his jobs plan is the burgeoning of the locks industry to house Hillary Clinton.

His foreign policy program is to send Hillary to southeast Hell.

Do not be fooled.  Donald Trump does not know any smart people and he’s just proven it.

The end.

Hell Yeah

I could not go to bed tonight without tell you how cool it was to see Ted Cruz getting booed.

Ted signed a pledge that he would endorse Trump in exchange for a speaking spot.  Republicans have learned that Cruz cannot be trusted.  We knew that all along in Texas.

Well, Damn, It’s a Nakkid on the Back Porch Kind of Day!

The 5th Circuit just struck down Texas’ highly restrictive voter ID law.  I am shocked.  Thrilled, but shocked!

More to come.

Important:  Texas has to fix it before the November election!

For those who didn’t know – the Fifth Circuit is the most conservative court in the nation.

Our friend Kyle says he’s betting on Abbott calling an immediate special session to remedy this by doubling down.  Texas has already spent over $3 million in legal fee alone fighting this losing battle.  Both Kyle and I imagine that Abbott will call the session during the Democratic convention.

Another alternative is secession.

No Wonder Christy Cried When He Didn’t Get Veep

Oh yeah, NOW they tell us.

It seems that when John Kasich was bowing out of the Republican coronation of Donald Trump. Don Jr asked to meet with Kasich’s top guy.

It went like this —

But according to the Kasich adviser (who spoke only under the condition that he not be named), Donald Jr. wanted to make him an offer nonetheless: Did he have any interest in being the most powerful vice president in history?

When Kasich’s adviser asked how this would be the case, Donald Jr. explained that his father’s vice president would be in charge of domestic and foreign policy.

Then what, the adviser asked, would Trump be in charge of?

“Making America great again” was the casual reply.

Grab something to hearty to drink, my friend, when you realize that Mike Pence will be in charge of foreign and domestic policy.

Trump will be in charge of making the hate list?

Thanks to Bryan for the heads up.

The Bold and the Bellowing

Hats off to a Houston Republican precinct chair who is as disgusted by Donald Trump as the rest of us.

A longtime precinct chairman for the Harris County Republican Party announced his resignation Tuesday. The resignation came as the party nominated Donald Trump as its Presidential candidate.

“How can you work with a guy like that?” said William Morris. “He’s a racist, a liar.”

Bravo.  I have taken William’s name off my Goofy Old White Guy list.  I know he’s celebrating that today.

I cannot let Wednesday morning start without mentioning that I made strange noises last night when Chris Christy said …

“We have a man who judges people based on their performance regardless of your gender, race, ethnic or religious background. We do not need to settle for less.”

That’s nice.  Where is that man?  Does he have a name?  How’d he get into this convention?

And our friend, Shiela Kennedy, has passed along the apt phrase “The Party of Cultural Resentment.”

Trump began this political cycle with his embrace of birtherism–a stance firmly grounded in the conviction that an African-American could not possibly be a legitimate occupant of the Oval Office.

Trump’s Presidential campaign has been upfront and unembarrassed about its anti-Mexican, anti-Muslim positions; it has been somewhat more covert in its appeal to white supremacists and anti-Semites, but not much. David Duke remains positively euphoric about Trump’s candidacy, as are a number of other avowed racists.

So, if you’re wondering why they cannot bring themselves to admit that Melania’s speech was stolen from Michelle Obama, remember that they cannot even admit that they are racists.  They have rung the bell at Delusion Mountain.

Thanks to Mazie, Bernard, and Shiela for the heads up.

I Certainly Hope So

George Bush fears that he will go down in history as the last Republican president.  Yeah well, he certainly contributed his fair share to the destruction of the Republican Party.

The 43rd president of the United States is concerned that Trump’s ridiculous and racist rhetoric is tearing apart the fabric of the GOP — and he had no problem voicing his concern at a reunion for staff of his administration in April, Politico reported.

It is kinda amusing that he’s blaming Trump.  Dubya, the sack ‘o crap has your name on it in big red letters, too.

Does Dubya not remember that he sat silently while Dick Cheney lied, cheated, stole, tortured, smirked, and threatened people?  Somebody needs to go remind Doofus Boy that he was not a whole lot better than Trump.

Okay, maybe a little.  Maybe just a little.

I hope he’s right, y’all.

Thanks to Alan in Austin for the heads up.
