While not typically within the purview of a County Commissioner, I believe that every elected official must do all that they can to help solve our current water crisis. Without water, industries leave, citizens relocate, and our County literally dries up.

Literally?  That’s amazing, Jeff.

So, now he’s got his panties all bunched up because his Democratic opponent, Catie Robinson, filed a request with the Texas Ethics Commission last month for an advisory opinion on allowing all Texas candidates to use campaign funds for child care expenses.  This is Catie and her family.

Texas candidates are currently restricted from using political donations for personal purposes, but the commission can provide guidance through an advisory opinion.

“A political campaign is a full time job, and one that is unpaid,” Robinson said.

Robinson was a stay-at-home mother with two girls. She began incurring child care expenses while campaigning so she started working as a barista at Starbucks.

I have known my own county commissioners to spend campaign funds on “campaign clothes,” a “campaign pick up truck,” baseball and rodeo tickets, and a “hunting trip to entertain donors.”

This Ethics Opinion will reverberate across the state, so Catie added …

“It’s not a question of being able to personally afford childcare,” she said. “If the cost is directly related to the campaign, then campaign funds should be allowed to be used.”

Robinson said, “I really believe that this might be the deciding factor for lots of other Texans out there who may be on the fence about running for office, so I am really happy to be a part of it.”

Yeah, Momma.

Anyway, Christian Jeff is opposed to it.  I suspect he’s also opposed to women running for political office.  Or, you know, being sassy and such.

Well, lookie right here.  Trump is firing the people who got him elected.

80% of the community of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, voted for Trump.  The new tariff’s are going to put 500 of them out of a job.

The company says that in the past they were able to fight the Chinese imports by filing dumping charges, but oops …

After doing all this, this administration comes in and slaps on this tariff and is able to do something that the Chinese were never were able to do; which is put this company on the brink of extinction,” he accused.

Trump is threatening Harley-Davison.  Those dudes have motorcycles and leather jackets and such.

Okay, so now Trump doesn’t believe in free enterprise.

He [Trump] alleged that Harley-Davison’s Monday announcement that it would move some more operations outside the United States was long planned and that it was using Europe’s new tariffs as an excuse. He threatened to hit the company with an unspecified tax if it attempted to sell motorcycles in the United States that were made outside the country.

So, Trump’s trade war is certainly costing jobs in the United States as everyone predicted it would, but if a private company says that out loud, Trump will Twitter them to death.

Harley-Davidson had long planned to open a new plant in Thailand, a decision that predated the trade war between Trump and the leaders of a number of other countries. But the firm said Monday that it was shifting more production overseas specifically to blunt the impact of the tariffs imposed by Europe.

Somebody please tell Trump that he’s a loser in the trade war.

Manafort’s lawyers have filed papers asking that Donald Trump’s name not be used at all during his trial.

Paul Manafort is being tried for conspiracy against the United States, witness tampering, fraud, altering documents, and 30 other counts, not even including his daughter’s text message that said her father had people killed in Ukraine.  But, the mention that he and Donald Trump even know each other is hurtful to Manafort’s reputation.

Damn.  That’s low.

Plus, isn’t this kinda like being charged with arson but not letting the word fire be used at your trial?
