Oh Rick, Say It Ain’t So!

April 10, 2012 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Okay, I want to know who is responsible for this travesty of unentertainment.

Rick Santorium is dropping out.

Now what’s the Texas Republican Party supposed to do with their strongly worded resolution?  You cannot eat a strongly worded resolution, you know.  It’s not going to just disappear on a meaningless piece of paper.  That sucker has gravitas!  You cannot serve up warmed over gravitas.

You know what that means, don’t you?  It’s just Mitt and Newt and Ron now – the Three Candidateteers!

So, if you’re looking for employment, might I suggest being a door-to-door Bible salesman on election day in Texas?  Everybody who wants one will be at home that day.

I’d Like That Thing in the Vatican Where the Pope Stands

Glen Beck built himself an oval office to broadcast from.

Yep.  Well, he didn’t actually build it himself.  He bought it from a movie production company.  It was originally used in the movie JFK, wooo, weeee, wooo, that’s surely a conspiracy.

The LA Times rightly put this news in their Entertainment section, where Beck has long last found his home.

He will give “pretend” Presidential speeches from his new set, and chase interns around it at night.

You know, we kinda need to put a limit on goofy.

Thanks to Ralph for the heads-up.

Scott Walker Can Kiss My Big Blue Butt

April 10, 2012 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Can somebody please explain to me what special kind of crazzzy person doubles down when facing a tough recall election?  Scott Walker is giving the keys to Wisconsin to the steeple people.

You know, I kinda feel bad for the Super DeLux Brand Christians.  I mean, none of their core beliefs are in the Bible.  That’s gotta hurt, not to mention making Sunday Sermons mighty short.

But what they lack in Biblical foundation, they make up for in buying politicians.

Not only did Scott Walker repeal the state’s enforcement mechanism for pay discrimination lawsuits, making paying women less not only easier, but highly encouraged, he also went after women’s health and sex education.

What is it he doesn’t like about women?  Have we hurt his feelings or something?  Has he watched too many Father Knows Best reruns?

And here’s the clincher.

Scott Walker’s campaign, asked for comment, replied, “Governor Walker is solely focused on sharing his pro-jobs, pro-growth message and his plans for using the foundation that has been laid to move Wisconsin forward.”

What is pro-jobs about paying women less for doing the same job as a man? That seems pro-Neanderthal employer, but hardly helpful to single moms.

No matter how much they want to go back to the 1950’s with no birth control, women mopping the kitchen in high heels, and …. whoa, that’s it.  It’s that whole mopping the floor in high heels, ain’t it?  That’s what he wants to see.

Oh yeah, by the way, the war on caterpillars just launched a Walker missal.

Thanks to Ralph for the heads-up.

Hummm … Now Here’s a Thought

April 10, 2012 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

It seems that a new study has shown that homophobes are more likely to be repressed homosexuals than we originally thought.

A research team from the University of Rochester, the University of Essex, England, and the University of California in Santa Barbara found that “[h]omophobia is more pronounced in individuals with an unacknowledged attraction to the same sex and who grew up with authoritarian parents who forbade such desires.”

I have three things to say about this.

1. Duh.

2. DUH.

3.  DDDDDDUUUUUUUHHHHHH

Thanks to Brian and June for the heads-up.

Sam’s Joke

April 09, 2012 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Sam from Pearland just sent me a joke.

This just in:  In anticipation of Romney’s win of the GOP nomination the party has decided to change its symbol from an elephant to a dolphin.  The new party anthem will be, “They call him Flipper, Flipper, Flipper.”

The Show Me State Meets Having Your Cake

April 09, 2012 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

They say you cannot have your cake and eat it, too.  That’s true, unless you are Republican Missouri Congressvarmint Vicky Hartzler.

At a townhall meeting, Hartzler went all off on President Obama’s birth certificate because, you know, not near has been said about that.

Oops, I accidently said "birth certificate" five times. I hate it when that happens.

“I have a lot of doubts about all that,” she said at the town hall. “But I don’t know, I haven’t seen it. I’m kind of, I’m just at the same place you are on that. You read this, you read that. But I don’t understand why he didn’t show that right away. I mean, if someone asked for my birth certificate, I’d get my baby book and hand it out and say ‘Here it is.’”

However, the next day, a man had to translate for her.  Her press secretary, Steve Walsh, translated what the congresswoman really meant, “the congresswoman is focused on job creation and the economy — not on the birth certificate controversy.”

You know, I gotta get me one of those man things to translate for me.
