FAIR WARNING: Rules Change
I need to give you guys a heads-up about the quilt.
A customer here at the beauty salon all the way from Illinois has offered a bid of $2,000. However, he wants the quilt before November 6th and the benefiting Democratic parties need the money before the election.
So, I am changing the rules.
There is currently a bid of $2,000 on the table. If we do not get a higher bid in 72 hours – that’s Friday at 10:00 am Texas time – the $2,000 bid will be the winning bid.
You have been warned. Jump on this sucker if you want it. It’s a bargain at any price.
Uh, Maybe It Was From Eating Roaches
This is not very political, but I am fairly sure this guy is a Republican.
Broward County authorities say the winner of a roach eating contest died shortly after eating dozens of roaches and worms.
Several contestants ate insects to win a python, the grand prize of the Friday night contest at Ben Siegel Reptile Store in Deerfield Beach.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office says the winner of the challenge, 32-year-old Edward Archbold, became ill soon after and collapsed in front of the store. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The sheriff’s office said Monday it was waiting for an autopsy report to determine a cause of death.
Let me save Broward County some money. He ate damn roaches. He was probably going to eat the python, too.
Push ‘Um Back! Push ‘Um Back! Push ‘Um Oh Holy Night Back!
Texas Cheerleaders 1; Trivialization of Jesus 17.
A Texas judge has given cheerleaders in Kountze, Texas, two more weeks to display Bible verses on banners while he decides if they are violating the First Amendment.
So, the football team will continue to enter the football field smashing through paper banners with scripture on them, like (seriously, these are the actual scriptures they use) “If God is for us, who can be against us, Romans 8:31.” Uh, the opposing team? Or, “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens! Phil 4:13.” Except make a first down on 3rd and 14.
I know Jesus is so proud.
Thanks to Brian for the heads up.
Warmed Over Death on a Cracker. Seriously. A Cracker.
Okay, it’s Arkansas again. The state who has declared war on Texas for the title of Holy Crap It’s Crazzzy Here.
I need to be honest with you before I start to tell you this story and admit that in raising three boys, I often told them that the only thing that kept me from killing them from time to time was the nasty headlines.
Charlie Fuqua, an Arkansas Republican candidate for the state house, doesn’t mind nasty headlines. At all.
He wrote a book.
The maintenance of civil order in society rests on the foundation of family discipline. Therefore, a child who disrespects his parents must be permanently removed from society in a way that gives an example to all other children of the importance of respect for parents. The death penalty for rebellious children is not something to be taken lightly. The guidelines for administering the death penalty to rebellious children are given in Deut 21:18-21:
When my boys were little a wise friend once told me, “It’s okay to want to whack your kid upside the head. It’s not okay to actually do it.”
Charlie. For the love of all that spins on the realm of sanity, give it a break. Back away from the edge, Charlie.
On his campaign blog, Fuqua highlights his service on the Children and Families Committee while a member of the Arkansas Legislature in 1997. He also describes liberals and Muslims as the “anti-Christ” and says he believes they are conspiring to create a “bloody revolution.”
Back away, Charlie.
Oh hell, jump. The gene pool will thank you.
Thanks to Barbara and Norma for the heads up.
