On a Personal Note
One of my personal Texas heroes, Bob Armstrong, picked Texas Independence Day to go to that great rodeo in the sky.
Bob will be missed, but we were all blessed to have him.
Happy Trails, Bob.

You question Hillary Clinton’s “loyality.”
You know how President Obama is an illegal alien Muslim from Kenya?
Well, it appears that Hillary Clinton is an Algerian sympathizer.
The Clinton Foundation accepted money from Algeria after the Haiti earthquake. The entire donation was spent on Haiti.
That gives Rick Perry an idea …
“I think it falls flat in the face of the American people when it comes to, are you going to trust an individual who has taken that much money from a foreign source? Where’s your loyalty?” Perry said in an interview that aired on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
Rick Perry, the world’s biggest pay to play goofball, is questioning someone else’s loyalty. That’s so cute.
Thanks to Kyle for the heads up.
North Carolina’s Ethics Commission has just come out with a statement that lobbyists can hire prostitutes to service politicians and don’t even need to report the expense–because sex has no monetary value. Seriously.
Truly, how would you suggest we assign monetary value to sparking with this guy —
Or this one —
Maybe this one —
Honey, I know approximately 20 million woman who say they wouldn’t do that for damn free.
I know this information is going to come as big news to the good folks at Miss Maudy’s Bawdy House in Reno, Nevada. I don’t think they have a North Carolina Free Friday on their fee list.
Thanks to Elizabeth for the heads up.
Texas Republican State Representative (start cringing) Tony Tinderholt was madder than a wet hen about a Texas judge letting two lesbians – who had been together for 30 years – get married.
So mad that he filed a complaint at the Commission on Judicial Conduct.
There were a couple or seven problems with this – other than a State Representative not having a typewriter.
First, he filed it against the wrong judge. Second, it was not a final judgement; it was a TRO. Third, he applied the law the wrong way. Fourth, Texas Attorney General was notified and chose to do nothing. So, basically this is the dumbest thing ever written by someone allowed to have a sharp object in his hand.
And in a roadtrip to Ironyville, you can discover that Republican State Representative Tony Tinderholt, a defender of the sanctity of marriage, has been married five (5) times. Five freekin’ times. He defends it by saying that he was married to one of the women twice. His latest wife is a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader.
Thanks to Brian for the heads up.
Last week, we chatted about how Fayette County, Texas, politics is heating up what with male dirty dancin’ and all manner of evil right here in Texas.
The county seat of Fayette County is LaGrange, home to the most famous little whorehouse in Texas.
There’s a mayor’s race in LaGrange and it appears that good and evil have squared off. (Click the little one to read the big one.)
The name of the highway? Martin Luther King, Jr.
I love yew, Texas.
Thanks to Vickie for the heads up.
Wisconsin Freshman Republican Congressman Glenn Grothman has been in Congress for six weeks, has met President Obama, and has some idea for making American great.
… he told a crowd of 10 people at Oshkosh City Hall that he’s eager to dig into challenges like welfare abuse, immigration and cutting federal spending.
“The three biggest problems that have be solved are welfare, the debt and our ridiculous immigration system where we’re becoming the welfare magnet for the western hemisphere,” Grothman said.
Because nobody knows more about immigration than some guy in Wisconsin.
I have been told that there is a Hispanic person in Wisconsin but I cannot imagine why.
As far as welfare abuse, Grothman has a solution.
Grothman said he hears stories about seemingly able-bodied people receiving disability payments, Social Security payments and Food Share benefits. He told the people in attendance to keep an eye on the types of things people on Food Share buy at the grocery store or ask people for more information if they boast about being on disability.
Oh yes! That’s what we need! We need the grocery store check-out police making citizen’s arrests.
And hunt down those folks who are disabled because Lord knows they’re living in a mansion boasting about pulling down $733 a month.
And, dammit, we citizens need to start making people prove they are over 65 when they ask for the senior discount, no matter how thick their glasses or how their walkers roll.
Yeah, what’s wrong with this country is that we are not mean enough to grandpa, crippled people, and poor people. Sic ‘um, Glenn!
Thanks to Mike and Larry for the heads up.
