I am extremely grateful for Alaska’s Congressman Don Young. Wanna know why? He makes Texas congressmen look relatively sane.
Young wanted gray wolves taken off the endangered species list because he wants to kill a few, I thought. I was wrong. Arguing his case, Young spoke to the House Natural Resources Committee.
“We’ve got 79 congressmen sending you a letter, they haven’t got a damn wolf in their whole district,” Young added. “I’d like to introduce them in your district. If I introduced them in your district, you wouldn’t have a homeless problem anymore.”
Well, that’s one way to look at it, I suppose. Not a sane way, but certainly a way.

Jeb Bush, who is waaaaay different than his brother and father and you know that because he says so, adds another Bush relic to his team.
Oil and gas attorney Gaylord Hughey Jr., the top GOP bundler of East Texas, said in a Thursday interview with The Texas Tribune that he will round up Piney Woods money for Bush.
I dunno how Bush will do in the Land of Louie Gohmert, but Gaylord sees Babyest Bush as — “I think he’s pragmatic. I think he’s thought a lot about his positions.”
Hughey said he is a big fan of former President George W. Bush, but he did not know his brother well until recently. Jeb Bush and Hughey met in Dallas about a month ago.
Well, that ought to tell you all you need to know. The guy who loves W also loves Jeb.

Rick Perry, the first and the loudest to criticize Hillary Clinton’s private email account, also used …. yep, a private email account.
It was discovered during a House Transparency Committee investigation of the turmoil at the University of Texas Board of Regents.
Joe Larsen, a First Amendment attorney, called it hypocritical for Perry to criticize Clinton for apparently skirting email disclosure when he was frequently criticized for doing the same as governor. Perry’s office took heat over the years for deleting emails every seven days, a period Gov. Greg Abbott extended to 30 days immediately when he took office in January.
Hey, his defense is that Hypocritical is his middle name.

Rick Perry in New Hampshire. Honestly, I didn’t know there were that many old white people anywhere.
Live free or die, Mofo!
And here’s the one where he claims that he grew up without running water in his house.

Rick Perry’s father was a county commissioner. He probably made enough in kickbacks to dig three damn wells. I ain’t buying that story.
You cannot even imagine how much fun it will be to watch Rick Perry fall on his face. Again.
The boys and girls at the Texas Observer re-wrote the Gettysburg Address after Perry claims that Abe Lincoln was a big states rights guy.
Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent a new loose federal compact, conceived in joint appreciation for family values and corporate power, and dedicated to the proposition that the states, the laboratories of Democracy, know how to create jobs better than some bureaucrat in D.C., I tell you what.
Now we are engaged in a problematic period in which both sides are at fault, testing whether that loose federal compact, or any loose federal compact so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle-field of this unfortunate mutual dispute. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that this nation may continue to create jobs long into the future.
In fact, Ted Cruz has an absolutely abysmal record on Politifact for telling the truth. Out of the 36 comments they’ve fact-checked on Cruz, an astonishing 67 percent of them have been rated as “Mostly False” all the way down to “Pants on Fire.” And out of all 36 of those comments, only one has been rated as “True.”
I kinda suspect they’re not a big fan of his either.
Welcome to The World's Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc.
My name is Susan DuQuesnay Bankston. I live in Richmond, Texas, in the heart of Tom DeLay's old district. It's nuttier than squirrel poop here.
I am honored and privileged to know Miss Juanita Jean Herownself, hairdresser extraordinary and political maven. Since she does not have time to fiddle with this internet stuff, I type her website for her and you can read it if you want to. If you don't, she truly does not give a big bear's butt.
A lot of what I post here has to do with local politics, but you probably have the same folks in your local government.
This ain't a blog. Blogs are way too trendy for me. This is a professional political organization.
