Last night, Jake Tapper of CNN finally got enough of SCROTUS’s insults and “fake news” twitter attacks on the media. He let loose with a comparison of conspiracy theories and actual facts. It’s pretty entertaining.

In the wake of KellyAnne Conway’s illegal hawking of Ivanka’s cheap crap from China on national television, Stephen Miller, former attack dog for Jeff Sessions, is the new apparent television propagandist for Cheeto Jesus. He made his debut appearances on MTP, Face the Nation, and This Week, and boy, were they doozies. He spewed more lies in a few minutes than most people do in a lifetime, and tried talking over his hosts, but Chuck Todd and George Snuffleupagus, both who, having recently grown actual spines, were having none of it. The most outrageous thing he repeated, though, was that the president’s authority over immigration is “unquestioned”. Well, actually, no, it’s not. That’s why we have three branches of government – the president’s authority is continually questioned. That’s the way it works.
The most striking thing, though? It was the physical similarities to a certain former propagandist that sent chills up my spine. Josef Goebbels was Hitler’s chief propagandist during his rise beginning in the 1920’s until it’s destruction in 1945. Goebbels was a master at “enlightenment” and used that mastery to convince Germans to submit to the worst dictator in the modern era.
I’m not big on the whole Nazi parallel thing, but this is pretty creepy, yes?
Oh, and one more comment, directed at Miller – buy a history book, sonny. Sit down, shut up, and READ.
In the most recent issue, Judith Thurman of The New Yorker interviewed by email retired novelist Philip Roth about his 2004 book The Plot Against America. Given the “absolute disaster” (Cheeto Jesus’ words, not mine) that has been unfolding before us on national television, Roth’s work is especially prescient. The setting of the novel is 1940 through 1942 where American icon Charles Lindbergh, with the aid of Nazi meddling in the election, defeats FDR who was running for a third term. Because of the meddling in the election, it is feared that Lindbergh was susceptible to blackmail by the Nazis.
The historic Lindbergh was a strong isolationist, was the first to coin the “America First” motto that CJ borrowed, and publicly admired Hitler. His (more…)
CNN, MSNBC, and the New York Times are now reporting that both Supreme Court nominees are going to be present in the White House for Cheeto Jesus’s network announcement tonight of his choice. Yes, you heard that right. Apparently, His Orangeness thinks he’s hosting a big television game show, and is planning some kind of Celebrity Apprentice style rollout of his nominee.
Holy Jesus. It is absolutely humiliating to be an American with this cancer infecting the White House.
Today, Susan Q. Yates, an Obama administration holdover until Cheeto Jesus gets a new bigot attorney general confirmed, announced that the Justice Department would not defend the new Bannon Muslim Ban enacted last Friday. CJ promptly fired her, accusing her of “betraying” the administration. Yes. She certainly “betrayed” the administration by upholding her sworn duty to uphold the Constitution. Yates, a 27 year veteran of the Justice Department is well regarded in legal circles. So, obviously, she has to go from the worst presidential administration since Richard Nixon or Andrew Jackson. Your choice.
