Can’t Wait Until Friday Toon
Donald Trump met today with insurers to ask them to work together to replace Obamacare. Yeah.
The meeting included leaders from Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Humana, UnitedHealth Group, Aetna, Anthem, Kaiser Permanente and the industry lobbying group, America’s Health Insurance Plans.
Hellfire, there’s enough evil, greed, and slime in that room to burn a hole the size of Montana all the way through the earth.
And, it the largest collection of old white guys in the White House since … well, the last time Trump held a meeting there.
Thanks to everybody for the heads up.
And the insurers said “no problem, we’ll just go back to the way it was before the ACA. We still have the death panels at HQ and they’ve also had ongoing training as to the few people we’ll cover (barely) and who will be turned down for coverage due to pre-existing conditions. And we can raise our premiums again because we need to make sure our executives get their million dollar bonuses every quarter.”
1Republicans, fiddle with the Affordable Care Act at your own peril, then deal with the consequences, you fools.
2President Trump said Monday that “nobody knew that healthcare could be so complicated.”
I’d like to come up with a clever response to this, but I have to say at the heart of it Trump is just a plain old stupid shit. But we knew that after the debates when he couldn’t answer even basic questions.
3You know what else is hard? Civics! One has to be able to understand hard words, and hard constructs like “separation of powers” “emoluments” and other big words that require thought. Holy moly, nice save, what an idiot. Things are hard. That’s why we Dems hired a smart man twice, and voted for a smart woman.
4“Nobody knew that health care could be so complicated.”
Translation: “Everybody but me knew that healthcare was complicated. But hey, what else is new?”
5Jim Wright has a photo of Donnie’s tweet:
https://www.facebook.com/Stonekettle?fref=nf&pnref=story
“Great meeting with CEOs of leading health insurance companies who provide great health care to the American people.”
Comment:
Jessica Bordua DeMay: Insurance companies do not provide healthcare. Doctors and nurses and other healthcare professionals provide healthcare. In fact, insurance companies do all they can to AVOID paying for care.
(And whoops, a black guy snuck in. How’d that happen?)
6So far, Trump has successfully found the best fox, or group of top foxes to put in charge of every hen-house in the nation.
What could go wrong?
7There it is ladies and gentlemen. It’s the best description of the Republican part evah! The first two words of the quote, “Nobody knew.”
The party that’s been bitching about the ACA for the last EIGHT YEARS has got nuthin. Squat. Nada. Zero. Zip. The truth is finally out. Even #45 who rallied around Repeal & Replace has nothing up his sleeve. No great plan. No fabulous alternative.
If ANYONE tries to smooth talk me about Republicans ever again, I will pull this out of my hat and shove it so far up their butts I can do a puppet show in their open mouths.
8@Rick – that’s a feature not a bug: Bannon has said that he and Trump picked their appointees based on their abilities to destroy the departments they were chosen to run.

9And, of course, there was not one doctor in the room. Nada. Nil. Not even the Surgeon General. Ummmm — has 45 gotten around to appointing one yet? Didn’t think so.
10two crows @ #10:
Does Trumplethinskin even KNOW he is supposed to appoint a Surgeon General? Remember, he didn’t know he would have to hire staff for the White House until he found out President Obama’s staff was not staying.
11Anybody not watching Rachael Maddow right now needs to watch this episode in it’s entirety. Seriously.
12Who knew? His opponent. She learned that lesson 25 years ago, but didn’t give up on it.
13Dems need to start buying t-shirts right now that say
“Replacement for Obamacare?
Medicare for All.”
This could be a powerful issue in 2018 for Dem politicians if they’re not too scared of the health provider industry.
14Hey, I was just wondering . . .
Does anybody know if ISIS has been totally defeated yet?
‘Cause Trump knows more about defeating ISIS than all the generals put together.
15If it’s not directly affecting him, meh.
16God I hate the Orange Whore.
I stand in awe of someone who can get elected president without knowing anything about government, sociology, finance, the military or healthcare.
Damn!
17Well, who woulda thunk it! Yeah, deconstructing health insurance is hard and complicated. The insurance industry helped big time to make it that way. Yeah, they are greedy weasels. If you can get past that, you have to deal with state insurance commissions, commissioners, and state insurance regulators. When you do, bring an extra set of brains cuz this kind of experience will fry the brain you already have. All that considered I am still in awe of the number of people who actually managed to get coverage and the applicants that still keep coming! And I also keep hoping that eventually this will all morph into something at least similar to what Canada and Great Britain have. The latter,by the way, is highly rated.
18The insurance companies will sooner or later out-price themselves on every level. Soon they’ll have no one that can afford to buy their overpriced trash policies. Greed will get them in the end..jmo.
19Mr. Trump and employees don’t understand that US Voters will vote as they will==they don’t care anything about you or your bottom-line.
