But Lindsey, I Thought The South Would Rise Again
Lindsey Graham, the most proper senator from South Carolina is not a hypocrite. He is simply a bad rememberer.
Sen. Lindsey Graham is asking for federal aid for his home state of South Carolina as it battles raging floods, but he voted to oppose similar help for New Jersey in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy in 2013.
When asked why South Carolina deserved the disaster relief money but New Jersey did not, Lindsey did the charming trick of riding a bicycle backwards.
“I’m all for helping the people in New Jersey. I don’t really remember me voting that way,” Graham said.
Pressed further, he said: “Anyway, I don’t really recall that, but I’d be glad to look and tell you why I did vote no, if I did.”
Okay, Honey, but we won’t hold our breath.
Jesus has a word that described these people perfectly: Hypocrite!
1Juanita: I think you meant “New Jersey did not.” Or was that a Freudian slip…..;-)
2Judi – thanks for the heads up. You’d think I’d learn not to post before my second cup of coffee. I have baseball hangover this morning.
3I wonder if South Carolina is still interested in secession?
4Graham: “Anyway, I don’t really recall that, but I’d be glad to look and tell you why I did vote no, if I did.”
Palin (7 years ago): “I’ll try to find you some and I’ll bring ’em to ya,”
5————————————–
I, for one, won’t be holding my breath waiting on either of these worthless diptwits to get back to us.
Miz Lindsey would have been perfect for the Prissy role in “Gone With the Wind:” “I don’t know nothin’ about birthin’ babies, Miz Scarlett.”
6Gubmint is big, bad, ugly, and wasteful, and ought to be abolished, except when *I* need help or want a handout. (Some folks in Texas have sung this song too.)
7Miz Lindsey protects his complexion with oil, the snake oil he has all over himself. He slides through life and thinks the rest of him should just let him slide on his own records. What he doesn’t want to realize is that the oil leaves a trail!
8Hey Lindsey, this is Gawd speaking. When I saw the North had burned your state to the ground, I sent water. Sorry it took so long to get there.
In all sincerity, we will do everything we can and should to help the people of South Carolina. Condolences to all the families who have been affected, especially those who have lost family and friends.
Now, back to my regularly scheduled program, messing with Senator Graham.
9The right-wing creed: Small government for everyone else, big government for me (but no taxes).
10I say Lindsey needs to beg the northeast for forgiveness before the request is even considered…
Hey I’m trying to keep it clean here…
11http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2013/01/29/1510041/sandy-aid-republican-hypocrites/ 31 wingnut senators and 37 wingnut representatives opposed Sandy aid.
12Miss Lindsey, how you put on airs. Kinda like a skunk.
13On another TWMDBS post, a commenter asked, referring to A-butt if someone had to water him once a week. In this case, that comment could be posted here with no loss of meaning. What a potted plant.
14Federalism is bad unless it pays local bills. Are you sure his name isn’t “Dick”?
15It’s important to make sure that Lindsay gets not one thin dime of any money that goes to South Carolina. After Katrina, Bush promised Trent Lott that HIS shorefront Mississippi home would be restore…at the same time nothing was being done for the poor, mostly black, people in New Orleans and Mississippi whose homes had been destroyed.
16epo, thanks for the laugh! The odor of hypocrisy is mighty like a skunk…
17Elizabeth Moon: Sadly he does get money. He’s a Congresscritter so SC and all of us pay his salary. Why we should continue to do that is beyond me.
18I’d forget it too if I were him.
