Buddy, Can You Spare a Dime?

April 11, 2016 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Donald Trump says it’s not true that he never donates to charity.  He says he donated $102 million in the past five years and produced 93 pages of names, dates and amounts to prove it.

But, in that massive list, one thing was missing.

Not a single one of those donations was actually a personal gift of Trump’s own money.

They were donations from The Trump Foundation.  Donald Trump does not donate to the Trump Foundation.

“He’s using [the foundation] as a kind of checkbook, with other people’s money,” Leslie Lenkowsky, a faculty member at Indiana University’s school of philanthropy, said after The Post described the recipients of the Trump Foundation’s gifts.

And not all the donations were to charities unless, of course, Serena Williams just became a charity.  And some guy named Brian.

And then there were the sneaky transactions.

In 2010, a man named Martin Greenberg was playing in a charity tournament at Trump’s course in Briarcliff Manor, N.Y. A $1 million prize was offered to anybody who got a hole in one.

Greenberg did. But then, hours later, he was called back. The rules said the hole-in-one shot had to go 150 yards. But, according to court documents, Trump’s course had made the hole too short.

And even with all this baggage, he’s still a better candidate than Ted Cruz.

(>.<) Ted Cruz is still a candidate? Imagine that! Thought for sure with all the sturm and drang over Hawaii being the 50th state, that the Birthers would have landed in Calgary by now.

Then again, one does not need to be a Constitutional scholar to know that there is nothing natural or natural born about the Loathsome Ted Crooze.

Donnie Drumpf donates to charity in the same way he does business: with other people's money.

  2. I was actually hoping to see something like Wounded Warriors on that list, but nope. With all the gas tRump has released about making the VA better, you would think that he had already made some moves with his own piggy bank. This reminds me of Mitt$ list of charities. They were all pegged in some way with and for the Church of the Latter Day Saints. I would bet Warren Buffet does things differently, even if he ain’t running for office.

  3. Once a selfish scumbag, always a selfish scumbag. Maybe he needs to be visited by three ghosts on Christmas Eve. Anybody half-decent would be embarrassed by that list.

My mother’s obnoxious neighbors have put a Trump sign in their front yard. I didn’t see them, so my “You have GOT to be f****** kidding me” went unheard by anyone but me.

Rhea, a well-placed volley of paint balls might help.

PKM has it right: Donnie Drumpf donates to charity in the same way he does business: with other people’s money.

    Shouldn’t this end with a ? mark:
“And even with all this baggage, he’s still a better candidate than Ted Cruz.”

Neither are a good candidate … perhaps it should end with an ! … maybe several of them!!!!!

Does the Donnie put tip jars near cash registers and such asking for change? He probably finagles contributions from employees and contractors then has photo ops with giant cardboard checks.

  7. A house plant is a better candidate than either of them.

To Paul: So is that dessicated, green slice of year-old lasagna I haven’t thrown out yet.

    Less disgusting, too.

Yes, Warren Buffett gave over $2 BILLION to the Gates Foundation in 2013 and may have given more since then. He is also a trustee for the foundation. I believe he only takes $100K as a salary each year. He is in a class by himself and so much better than anyone in the GOP race.

  10. I’d take Greenberg’s suit against Trump in a heartbeat. The golf course was after all responsible for setting the hole.

Heh. Totally Trump’s MO. Just like he scammed his friends Jay Pritzker and Louise Sunshine out of millions of dollars. He was born a con-man and will die a con-man. There’s not an honest bone in his old, fat, pasty, orange & white body.

  12. I was just thinking about how Drumpf looks first thing in the morning when he wakes:

Pasty white, age-spotted face, enormous eye bags, mottled, blotchy skin, rheumy, pale eyes. Very long, greasy orange hair straggling from the edge of a bald and shiny pate, short spiky little hairs on top and sticking out of nostrils and ears. Croaking, garbled, mucous-choked voice. Harsh tremors in hands, arms and legs. Hunched over, shuffling feet.

Then the arrival of a small army of nurses, make up artists, hair dressers, tailors, various aides and a trolley of drugs, many illegal, few prescribed, get the old vermin started on his day.

    Whaddayathink? Does that seem reasonable?
BTW, that’s why Drumpf considers himself a charity.

    12
  13. Debbo, I could have done without that mental image, but points for “the old vermin”.

I see that “vermin” is based on the Latin for “worm,” which brings up a Will Cuppy quote: “We are all descended from small worm-like creatures, but it shows more on some people.”

    13
  14. Rhea, I love the quote. So fitting. And sorry for any nausea due to imagery of the real Drumpf. In this instance nausea is just as fitting as the Cuppy quote.

    14
  15. Image a Drumpf DWI mugshot. He’d make Nick Nolte look suave and debonair, a real Cary Grant type. Hahahahahahahaha!

How much of the $6 mil. he raised for the Vets. got to a vet.
Hes a con man.–But better than Cruz.

  17. Debbo, spot on.

    17
  18. I think that Trump would make a wonderful presidential candidate.

    For the Dems.

    18
  19. LynnN, What in the world do you have against Democrats?
