Boehner’s Kissy Face
Those who saw Boehner’s kissy face can understand why this is happening.
As of Tuesday morning, 60 congressional Democrats have said they are skipping the controversial speech. Among those boycotting are Sens. Tim Kaine (D-Va.), Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) and Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). Vice President Joe Biden is also missing the speech due to overseas travel.
No, seriously, would you go anywhere where their might be a chance of having to look at this again?
Not me, that’s for sure.
Orange is the new treason. Israel is dictating ‘murrican foreign policy in the Middle East. No Dem should attend this speech. It will give wingnuts partisan ammunition to attack Dems with whether they show or not.
1Oh, and the Boner has caved. He is going to bring up the Homeland Security bill without the noxious Immigration rider. The Gopers are talking coup.
Please pass the popcorn.
2From Eugene Robinson at the WashPost (sorry it’s long, but it’s good):
We’re supposed to feel sorry for him. We’re supposed to boo-hoo about the fact that his majority refuses to fall in line — and might even take away his gavel if he dares to face reality. Mr. Speaker, would you please get over yourself?
When Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) held that job, she faced a similar impasse in 2007 over a funding bill for the Iraq War. Pelosi and most Democrats in Congress were, at that point, vocal opponents of the war. However, it was unthinkable to leave the troops without adequate funding. Democrats managed to push through both chambers an appropriations bill that specified a timetable for troop withdrawals. George W. Bush vetoed it.
So Pelosi swallowed hard and did what was necessary. She ended up bringing a funding bill — with no timetables — to the floor, and it was approved with the votes of Republicans and moderate Democrats. Pelosi voted against it, knowing it would pass.
“I am the speaker of the House,” she told reporters that day. “I have to take into account something broader than the majority of the majority of the Democratic caucus.”
When do we hear words like that from Boehner? Never.

3Boehner needs to be locked in a room and forced to watch every moment of Jon Stewart summarizing his “leadership.”

4I felt a hate-filled rant coming on about Speaker Boehner. Rather than sending a heavily redacted post, I’ll say this…
5Candidate Boehner should never have been elected. That he was proves clearly that the minimum standard is just that, a very low bar. A Representative should be capable of more than fogging a mirror or pi$$ing a hole in the snow.
Mr. B, hold onto that kissy face while I drop my pants! Hold on…
6Just when you thought he couldn’t be more disgusting….
7Rep. Benjamin Netanyahu (R-Israel)–our newest red state.
I support Israel. I do not support its neo-con leaders nor our own. They seem determined to start another war even after the abject failure of their last two.
Netanyahu is an agent of a foreign government who is attempting to sabotage U.S. foreign policy and Boehner is his accomplice.
8Our young, bright, second-term Congressman Beto O’Rourke from El Paso has said he will not attend Netanyahu’s address to Congress. Good for him!
9Kissyface just caved on the funding for DHS. He will go for a clean bill. That means no “if” “ands” or “buts” about the immigration Executive Actions, as if it never happened. This has engendered a helluva lot of noise from his opposition. There is even a chance he will lose his Speakership. You are now free to ponder who a successor might be.
10I have no need….. and no desire….. to watch some one from a foreign country…. speak in “The People’s House” of the United States of America…..
Who has nothing but contempt….. for my country….. and for our President…..
No thank you very much.
11NuttyYahoo can speak in the House, but progressives don’t have to listen. Remember, the Pope is also scheduled to speak later this year, so it’s probably fair to let Nuttyyahoo. Besides, the Israelis will probably vote him out of office in another two weeks, anyway.
12Just more reasons to get rid of the Republicans in our Congress as soon as possible.
Right, PKM. To summarize Stewart’s point: The House Republicans are a huge t*rd stopping up the plumbing of the U.S. Government and Boner shows nothing but disrespect for them and for American citizens.
13It is all about protocol and respect for the office of the Potus,W.C. Boner understands neither and respects neither. He deserves to be tried for treason right alongside that wingnut from Israel who is pushing America closer to another Middle Eastern war, this time with Iran. We need to cut Israel off at the knees and the US taxpayer tit now! Sorry Mama.
14JAKvirginia wins the internet today. Pucker up,Buttercup Boner.
15🙂
Oh I think he’s kind of cute. Just don’t make me look at him too often. He needs to get unelected and go back to Ohio and shovel snow.
16He looks like a dead fish (orange roughie).
17One – more – time!!!
“I don’t really have anything to add. I just like it whenever a topic includes Boner because I like to write it. Boner is how I always pronounce Boner. Do you pronounce Boner as Boner too, Micr, epo, and Maryelle?
Boner, Boner, Boner! Nyah, nyah, nyah. (Do I win the WMDBS Maturity Award for today?)”
18Debbo, I make it a practices never to say his name out loud, but in my head, it’s BONER.
19What a photo. Whenever I see it I get this compulsion to moon it and glue it to my hind end.
20Sorry, JAKvirginia – you beat me to it and I didn’t see that!
21… And with a sucker face like that, betcha he could raise a hickey on every Tea Party bum in the House.
