Biden Spokespersons Saying He’s Still in, Union Support Starting to Fray

July 19, 2024 By: El Jefe Category: 2024 Election

Through talking heads, Biden is still vowing to stay in even with major party leaders, donors, and now unions starting to back away.  Local 3000 of the United Food and Commercial Workers, with a 50,000 person membership, is now calling for Biden to withdraw.  Even Shawn Fain of the UAW is expressing doubts, and the president of the Association of Flight Attendants is voicing concerns about his candidacy.

According to Nate Silver, Biden’s chance of winning the Electoral College has dropped below 26% and betting platform Polymarket are now handicapping him at a whopping 6% success.

Among likely candidates to replace Biden, Witmer has interestingly begun rising to the top.  Another betting platform, Manifold, is handicapping her at 55% to beat TFG in the general, but there’s obviously a lot of noise in all the numbers, especially since Biden continues to insist he’s still in while the calls for him to step aside are growing louder.  There’s now some talk of a floor fight if he doesn’t yield, but I’m not sure how that can happen since his delegates are obligated to vote for him on the first ballot, unless the final convention rules get amended at the start.

This shit show is most certainly going to turn into a shit festival if this is not resolved, and soon.  Every single poll, every single number, every single risk factor points to a Biden withdrawal, yet he’s hanging in.

Tick, tick, tick.

Be social and share!

So, AOC is correct and there’s no plan other than get rid of both Biden and Harris, and have a big floor fight?

Ratings gold for the media – but I’d bet whoever ended up as the nominee would lose support from other Democrats (say, Kamala Harris supporters angry at the snub), and suffer a historic loss in the election. Imagine Trump with an actual mandate.

    NO!

You haven’t written here in ages but now you’re all in trying to destroy our chances to win this election. The stakes are too high for these games. you need to respect our vote. This push to undermine Biden/Harris directly helps Donald Trump. I remember how you helped Donald Trump win the first time by undermining Hillary Clinton at every turn. Learn from your mistake because we cannot afford to let it happen again. Joe Biden is our nominee with Kamala Harris as our running mate even if you don’t think the primary is binding, it was a legal election and elections still matter.

If you are worried then use your voice make democrats stronger.

Stop hurting our party. Start helping.

  3. What did all y’all clamoring for Biden to withdraw think was gonna happen?

The debate was awful. Rather than figuring out what happened ,why and dealing with it, it was Biden should withdraw.

It was too late by then. This shitshow is 1968 all over again. Prepare to live in a Trump world.

Clinton, progressive do to learn from their mistakes, they poison the well. Every damn time.

We all seem to think we have the answer. We don’t. It feels more and more like the 1st Friday toon from July 12 where we’re battling each other with swords while trumpf is breathing fire.
It’s up to Biden to decide, not us.
I’m pretty sure we’ll all vote for him if he stays in and Democrats in all races.

  5. Such brilliant advocacy for the forte of our Democratic Party:

Snatching Defeat from the Jaws of Victory…

Yeah, WTF, let’s go and do it one –last– fucking time. Because there goddamned won’t be another time after this.
When tRump’s looming Fourth Reich takes over in January 2025 it’s all fucking over: future democracy, the economy, personal freedoms (particularly for he and his minions target groups),. Followed by concentration camps, mass deportations, show trials, secret trials, mysterious disappearances, total surveillance society, ‘neighborly’ spies, etc, etc.
Everything previous dictatorial regimes have done, on mega-steroids; thanks to modern technological means.

Some around here plainly can’t envision the clusterfuck coming, due to the insane idea of dumping a (formerly) winning team.
Over a totally chicken shit, media and rethug drummed and hyped-to-the-max up minor issue.

JFC on a tortilla, we are going to be reamed to the max.
And very few of y’all are going to be able to get the hell out of Dodge.
When tRump got in the first time I looked at emigration. The financial requirements to emigrate to virtually any –desirable– other countries are prohibitive for around 98 per cent of people. Those countries have very stringent and upscale parameters for becoming citizens, or even long term residents, of their nations.
Of course there are a bunch of relative hellhole type nations that will welcome y’all with open arms. Just long enough to drain every asset that you have, once you’re feeling settled in.

Go ahead, blow the last damned chance we have of avoiding tRumpmageddon 2025+. Our Democratic ship of fools will be going to the bottom with all hands on deck

    Should have included a quote:

“To summarize: Biden is a successful incumbent president and a lot would have to go wrong for him to lose. If he is forced to leave the ticket the plan B should be to have Harris assume the presidency and take his place. An open convention would absolutely be the way for Democrats to lose. He absolutely eviscerates Democrats calling for Biden to step down. Everybody needs to watch this. Especially those who insist that Biden needs to withdraw.

I love his line “Republicans have no principles and Democrats have no spine.”

He does worry that Biden may be forced to withdraw, but I don’t see how that happens. Unless the party is going to”

Not sure who is being noted as not writing here in ages but doesn’t really matter. I think everyone on this article has posted frequently. Anyway, I hope we can all respect the opinions of patrons. It’s Joe Biden’s responsibility to make the decision and all we can do is support that decision, y’all. I know I will. Let’s not eat each other up. Let repugnanticans do that. They don’t all agree with trumpf.

  9. Sandridge’s post may sound extreme. But IMHO I think we all agree a second trump presidency will be the outcome he’s talking about. We just disagree on which road’ll get us there. Jefe, from what I remember you’ve got experience in politics, polling and whatnot. But what Sandridge is saying is something I’ve thought too. Joe is the only person to beat the Weaselheaded fucknugget since he slithered down the escalator. And I remember everybody befuddled by his 2016 win because the polls didn’t show it. So what I want to know is what the polls showed all during both primaries. Were they wrong all along? Cause I think I remember EVERYBODY ready to call it for Hillary. Even fucking trump. I’m just saying that maybe the whole science of polling has been changed by social media and maybe we haven’t figgered out how or to what extent.
And I know I’ve mentioned before, but I’m still not seeing anything like the MAGA yard signs and bumper stickers.
    Or flags. NOTHING like before.
    At least yet.
But that’s just my opinion and I’m just as full of shit as anybody else.
