Bernie Endorsed Joe

Bernie endorsed Joe but the hard part comes next:

The two said they had agreed to form six task forces to work on policy matters. Those working groups will cover the economy, education, criminal justice, immigration, climate change and health care.

The hammering and nailing in those 6 groups should be loud enough to keep us all up nights.  On the other hand, Trump can barely count to 6 or even name 6 issues the government should have ideas about other than making money for the president.

  1. Rick Perry couldn’t count to three and Trump put him in his cabinet, so your point is well founded JJ.

  2. Joan @16 of the Oxford Vaccine post a couple days ago suggested an article in U.K. Guardian. Pretty sure it’s “U.S’s global reputation hits rock bottom over trump’s Coronavirus response”. A good read. IMHO, this situation is just the icing on the cake. The world has been shown since 2017 that any agreement made with us is a crapshoot every 4 years. And since the Senate didn’t convict after impeachment, we’ve shown the world repugnantcans will condone any corruption to retain power. Now the world sees that all applies even risking our own citizens in an immediate emergency. Doesn’t inspire loyalty.

  3. 1) Do NOT repeat mistake of the Obama administration of passsing over the crimes of the twits admin, and the bankers criminal looting of the economy, by claiming to want “to move forward” special fund and task force for nothing else but an in depth review of all actions and strong criminal prosecution of anything including skipping on parking tickets. These people do NOT have diplomatic immunity.
    2) In depth investigation of every judge appointed by this group with no prosecutorial discretion. They find a crime, perjury, they prosecute it with no deals.
    3) Support creation of new judicial seats of a ratio of 1 to 1 for every thug appointed by this or the twits admin. Including SCOTUS
    4) Active support of abolishing the filibuster at the Senate of ensuring that the rules are like the Texas rules on filibuster, no leaning -no resting on desks or chairs.
5)Active support of dumping Hoyer and other corporate D’s in legislative positions. This includes dumping shumer.
    6) The progressives name every official on the national level for the DNC, DSCC, DCCC and other affliaited orgs.

Neither of these guys were my top choice but I will still dress up in my virus protection outfit and vote for Biden. His majesty as well as his full court need to go. And as this goes along I’m sharing K’s opinion that there need to be some prosecutions. But nothing will happen if we don’t get rid of McConnell – we have to remember to vote down ballot in every race!

It is an odd world where the loser demands and gets negotiations. And Bernie is the loser. He is lucky Biden would even meet with him.

  6. I’d like to suggest another good read. From npr, “What Coronavirus exposes about America’s political divide”. A lot of it we all know and have talked about. But it puts things in a perspective I haven’t quite seen before. One stat that caught my eye was that using these metrics, a majority of Americans are in areas small enough to be represented by 18 senators. And 18% of the population is spread out in rural areas represented by 54 senators. I’ve oversimplified I know. But it’s a valid concept, and npr tells it a helluva lot better. My point is that a major task force needs to be devoted to getting more of the rural vote back that we’ve lost or given up on. For the presidential election, and to take back the Senate. Because mcconnell has shown us, and the world that unless Democrats get back in power, repugnantcans will have attained their ultimate goal. Permanent majority. And not to sound too alarmist, but if that happens, given the actions of the current justice department, joints like this lovely establishment might be dangerous to visit.

  7. this misadministration is asking for necessary congressional approval to delay census and reporting the results for approx. 3 months.
    Not a totally unreasonable request.
D’s approval must be contigent upon
    1) Census targets low income communities
    2) Remove any hang over from thuglicans aAllowing the Census to gather data and have official results include demographic models that include projections of populace that did not or were not included in returns. Last time around thuglicans included caveat of eliminating these and demanding only any results only include documented “face to face” data.
    3) Ban the use of this data by any state or municipalities for gerrymandering. Ban gerrymandering as a matter of law
    4) mandate mandatory vote by mail nationwide.
    5) That failure on any of these issues and enforcement (i.e signing statements) prohibits the reallocation of any congressional seats between states. No loopholes.

Remember the failures of the census will harm red states more since it will not capture population growth in red states hence states such as florida, texas etc will not get any extra congressional seats.

  8. Bob Boland says:

Ralph Wiggam @ 5 – no surprise. Remember, these were the primaries. Biden is going to need all the votes he can get, whether from the Centrist wing or the Progressive wing of the Democrats as well as from as many Independents as he can scoop up to beat Trump and begin the expulsion of the Fascists from our government. Think of it in a Parliamentary sense. The Centrists, with Biden as their leader, need the Progressives, with Bernie as their leader, to form a coalition “government”, since neither group is strong enough on its own to win the general election.
