Behind the Curve
About a decade ago, I came up with an idea for a book. It was going to be about a guy who runs for office in Texas and uses Texas’ lack of campaign spending enforcement to support himself. He buys himself cars, meals, vacations, you name it out of campaign funds. While that’s illegal, no one has ever been prosecuted for it.
Things got in the way and I never wrote the book but now I’m behind the curve. It’s a thing now.
Scampaign- a political campaign whose primary purpose is not to garner votes and elect its candidate but to fleece contributors and enrich the consultants or even the candidate him or herself.
Donald Trump is spending money to make money. Yeah, he’s spending his own money but he’s spending it at his own companies.
And Ben Carson’s friends all got rich off his campaign.
They stole my idea.

Write it and I will definitely budget the price out of my Social Security $$. I’m with you on this idea. What has been going on for some time in campaigns is soooo obvious and the spammers don’t even bother to hide their greed!

6There’s a South Dakota medical doctor who’s made scampaigning an art form and her suckers are chiefly the evangelical types. Her name is Annette Bosworth. She’s so bad she finally was convicted of a felony for cheating and lying on her election petition. The SD AMA revoked her medical license. (Maybe she wasn’t that good at it after all.) SD is so corrupt you have to be explicitly terrible to ever have to pay for it, but a fierce band of independent citizens and their blogger/leader were relentless enough that the snacilbupeR government finally had to act against a fellow snacilbupeR. It was a thing of beauty.

A quick interweb search of Dr Annette Bosworth turns up a bunch of really odd stuff. Does SD not do some sort of mental vetting before they allow someone to become an MD?? My fav of course was the candid/posed shot of her in the black Che t-shirt. I presume she hasn’t a clue who is Che Guevara.
8Trump… spending his own money… um, no, he’s not. From what I’ve read, most of what he’s spent so far is campaign donations NOT his own bucks. Hey, this is The Donald! He uses other people’s money on his projects, never his own! Just cause Donald says it doesn’t make it true.
