Because, You Know, Health Care is Just Like Cocaine. You Get a Little and Then You Can’t Stop.

It’s Ted Cruz again.

Oh, y’all, he is such a gift.

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz has come home to Texas to promote his long-shot bid to defund “Obamacare,” warning Tea Party activists Monday that they have only a few months to stop the health care reform law before people get “addicted” to it.

Yes, addicted to health care.  Addicted to be able to buy insurance with a pre-exisitng condition.  Addicted to heart medicine or asthma inhalers.

Oh, the shame of it.

Thanks to Andrew for the heads up and John for the graphic.

  1. How fitting that the Cruz Cruise should be aboard a garbage barge. Everybody better wear hip boots what with all the crap in there.
The doctor on board will provide methadone to help all those healthcare addicts to kick their craving for affordable care. Of course, his fees are outrageous and must be paid out-of-pocket. Those who can’t pay will walk the plank.
Protesters at one of Ted’s town-halls were shouting, “You have healthcare,
why can’t we?” Right to the point.

  2. Why is a Canadian citizen allowed to represent Texas?

I think Rick Perry forgot which programs he is against!
Oh yea – just remembered it is Obamacare.

Joan – just read a little article saying that Perry is now asking for $ from the feds to help with healthcare here in TX
I can’t wait until 8/1! I work with Medicare people and will also be a rep educating people about the AcA here in TX. I get a hard time from so many when I talk just Medicare options, get screamed at because there is a communist in the White House. It will be interesting now trying to convince people that the ACA is actually a good thing. Let the fun begin!

  4. It’s become clear that the 2016 Republican primary has already started. I suspect that what Cruz is doing is positioning himself perfectly by pandering to the base. The fact that he is 100% wrong will be a plus to those voters.

  5. Bernard, I also read that article, he seems to be doing this quietly, I think it is funny because it won’t be quiet for long.
On daily KOS today there are a couple of people who have written about their experience already with the health care law, you would be interested!

Good luck with your work and thanks for doing it!

Would link the two articles on KOS but I am not good with links.

That’s why Obamacare is the Repugnicants nightmare; if they can’t find a way to stop it, it will work! And if that government program works, people might start to get the idea that — in contrast to what Saint Ronny told us — government can provide solutions.

  7. Ted Cruz has health insurance, as a United States Senator, that the rest of us could only dream of.

As a Canadian/American with dual citizenship. He has universal health care as in Canada.

Should he ever feel the need, since his daddy is a Cuban. Universal health care …. there….. also.

Damn (sorry momma) we should all be so lucky.

But, Senator Cruz would, if he could, deny the rest of us…. access to affordable health care.

    Sweet.

  8. W C Peterson says:

You should have seen Hannity’s insanity last night. He was bloviating about Obamacare premiums skyrocketing. But he never mentioned that it was in Florida, where the Republican-controlled State government passed a law forbidding the Insurance Commissioner from doing anything to hold down the cost of insurance premiums. You see, they were convinced that the SCOTUS would strike down the ACA. Wendell Potter has a great article on Huffington Post about this subterfuge. Hannity lies like a rug, and he offered a classic example of it last night.

Let’s write Cruz lines epitaph early and often. Normal, sane, average, real ‘mericans don’t want and aren’t buying tickets to Ted’s ill fated maiden voyage into the future. His ideas of floatation devices are beneficial taxcuts to float the wealthy and anchors for the rest. Curiously,he is counting on the fact that his flagship is so full of holes it won’t hold water and that then explains to him the reason it won’t sink, either. Faulty logic has doomed smarter weasels.
