Welcome to The World's Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc.
My name is Susan DuQuesnay Bankston. I live in Richmond, Texas, in the heart of Tom DeLay's old district. It's nuttier than squirrel poop here.
I am honored and privileged to know Miss Juanita Jean Herownself, hairdresser extraordinary and political maven. Since she does not have time to fiddle with this internet stuff, I type her website for her and you can read it if you want to. If you don't, she truly does not give a big bear's butt.
A lot of what I post here has to do with local politics, but you probably have the same folks in your local government.
This ain't a blog. Blogs are way too trendy for me. This is a professional political organization.
If only there were a rush on that….
1There are the Confederates, then there are the confederates surrounding Dolt45.
adjective
1.united in a league, alliance, or conspiracy.
2.(initial capital letter) of or relating to the Confederate States of America:
the Confederate army.
Which group will be the first to be led off in cuffs? Seems Flynn, Jughead Kushner and Manafort are gaining ground in the primary definition, while Sessions & Bannon lead group #2.
That’s not to discount Messalina (Messy) Drumpf nor Sebastion Gorka in category #3 of “who are these people.”
2A bunch of losers who literally celebrate being losers.
They even have a flag.
3LynnN, if only they would fly their historically correct flag: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-a53po0bCFLY/Uk6ut62f3nI/AAAAAAAAAFk/MbqS2iQPYSU/s1600/white-flag-surrender-2.jpg
4Is it time to start with the Confederate jokes?
Delta airlines ticket agent in Atlanta: “Name”
General Mattax: “General Mattax”
Delta: “Occupation?”
General Mattax: “No no. Just passing through.”
For Sale
Rifle used by Confederate soldiers at Appomattox. Never fired. Only dropped once.
Q: How does every Confederate joke start?
5A: By looking over your shoulder.
Micr, but when do the Confederate jokes end?
6@Jane & PKM:
Oh my youthful friends … in the words of the American president who never was, Winston Churchill, “Never, never, never, never”
7Spot on! May they all be removed soon.
8In Virginia the statues are being retired. To cemeteries, etc. But who pays for hauling those things away? Say, maybe they could be sold on line. You know garden ornaments. Some damn fool would pay and pay shipping.
9I wouldn’t mind at all if they were removed to Confederate cemeteries. I don’t want to ignore the history of the Confederate States, but I’d rather not see it celebrated.
10If I felt stronger about the issue, I’d work on DoD to change the names of all their locations named after dead Confederates. When I see “Fort Hood” and etc it angers me a little bit.
That said I grew up on a Lee Street and nearby was Stonewall St and Jackson St and there was a Confederate soldier statue at the old high school site that was eventually moved to the new middle school site.
And on and on. Subtle honors to traitors that ought to have been hanged from the nodding bough of the nearest tree until they were dead.
11I live not far from Lee High School, named after, you guessed it, Robert E. Some years ago a little girl who was a student at that school won an Olympic medal for swimming. I always felt the school should have been renamed for her. Yes, I know she was a modest winner but I think what she did would be far more inspiring to the students.
Incidentally, Virginia etc. still have some streets and buildings named after British Generals such as Braddock Road and Braddock High School. We won the revolution. Why did the names hang on? Is there really another American Braddock I know nothing about?
12maggie, I was thinking of Virginia’s Lee-Jackson Highway. I don’t think they’re honoring Spike and Jesse.
