  1. Anything John Pavlovitz ever wrote.
    Period, Paragraph, end of story.

  2. A study showed that we atheists did better in a Bible quiz than Evangelicals did. Many of the latter couldn’t name the four gospels. The loudest ones are those arguing from a position of greatest ignorance.

  3. How sad.

Instead of learning the strength of faith, they stay chained to fear and anger…

  5. Linda Phipps says:

Rhea I believe the vast biblical knowledge of atheists is because we non believers know what we don’t believe. Evangelicals accept all that dogma without understanding .

Come on, any child of the ’60s knows it’s Matthew, Mark, Don, and Mel.

  9. What next for tiny hands Donnie and bloody paws Stephen Miller? Maybe they should shut down McCarren International Airport in Las Vegas, NV. Dog knows why, but even in the hottest desert days of July that airport is invaded at an average rate of 96,500 people a day. That’s one day. One mere day in which hordes of tourists invade that desert city. Meanwhile Donnie’s “horde” of asylum seekers massed in a group of nearly 200 (including women and children) to take over the entire continental USA yesterday. Last estimate Cadet Bone Spurs had beaucoup border patrol and US military on the border, while the Mayor of Las Vegas has a teacup of LE out at the airport in comparison.

Interesting. The Mayor is Carolyn Goodman, wife of Oscar Goodman who is a bit of a raconteur and figure about town. But enough about Oscar. Mayor Carolyn (a woman) is beating the socks off you in tactics & techniques, Donnie.

Shrinking violet and shriveling mushroom cloud Dotard45 certainly does shrivel in competition with intelligent women. Maybe that’s why Old Scratch McConnell and the snacilbupeR on the Senate Judiciary Committee are desperate to arbitrarily reduce its size from 21 to whatever so as to remove Senator Kamala Harris from the committee before the 116th Congress convenes.

Smell the desperation and it isn’t even January. Yet.

  13. @ Linda Phipps, I’ve seen a button or bumper sticker: “Yes, I’ve read the Bible. That’s WHY I’m an atheist.” (Though one would also have to read a number of other books to use that reasoning.)

  14. PDQ Bach (comedic alias of musician/composer Peter Schickele) wrote a work entitled “Hansel and Gretel and Ted and Alice, an opera in one unnatural act”. Which is what popped into my head at reading the suggested names of the four Gospels. LOL.

And, yes, the Bible is difficult reading with many contrary and confusing stories and passages that raise all sorts of questions. As a mainstream Protestant the command of Jesus to “Love God, and Love your neighbor as yourself” rings clear as a bell as how we should treat the poor, the immigrant, children, the elderly, the sick, heck, even those well off. Because we all have our struggles. Those who don’t heed those words are not following Him but their own version of what they think it should be, which includes the twisted, man-made “rapture” which is a load of hooey. I’m gobsmacked, truly.
