Because He Wants To Watch People Beg
Lord knows we’ve seen plenty of evil lately, but I was wondering in anyone had words to describe what kind of man makes people wait to donate food until he arrives.
These pictures even beat Paul Ryan washing clean dishes. At lease Ryan didn’t make people wait to give to hungry people.
And I know that the Red Cross wanted money instead of food. But, golly, it’s Mitt Romney. If he gives them money, they’ll never know how to wait in line until he blesses them.
Thelma says he’s just training people for soup lines in case he gets elected.
I’m taking bets. How long until that bus actually shows up in NJ? I’m betting the day after the election, if at all.
1At least the Romney campaign remains consistent in changing it’s message, “donate food, no wait… donate money,” and the destination for those canned goods, “Virginia! No, how about New Jersey!” He should have kept it a secret plan, like his $5 trillion tax cuts.
2Red state, red faced…..
3And I’m sure he’s not even embarrassed by the rampant hypocrisy and cynicism of this “donation” event.
This kind of thing needs a lot more publicity than it gets.
Reagan was supposed to be such a “nice guy”– I had the impression that, if you showed Reagan a poor person, he’d get out his wallet and offer help. But when told that a million poor people would suffer because of his policies, he’d say “Wha?” and it would just bounce off.
Romney isn’t even nice in the first sense, according to this “event”.
4The best thing for the Romney campaign to do with all those cans is to deliver them to a food bank in a high unemployment area that isn’t dealing with Sandy. Food banks actually use canned goods, know how to sort them, and have ready customers to give them to.
5Thanks, TexasEllen. And in the meantime, maybe the mittster and the Koch brothers and Rove and Cheney and all their plutocrat friends might just want to cough up some actual MONEY to help the victims. I doubt it, though.
6Buzzfeed has a story up how Romney staffers bought 5k worth of ‘donations’ for the campaign event.
7Why doesn’t Mitt just open his wallet? HE is rich enough.
8And today we learn that Paul Ryan is doing the same thing.

9I have a Mormon friend. Once I was at her house when she got a call that a Mormon family’s house had burned down and they lost everything. Knowing the family, my friend rushed around and gathered clothes, food, household items, etc., (including a check) and took it to another house which had been offered to the family. That’s what Mormons do for their own when a family is in need and is what neighborhoods of non-Mormons do everywhere. It doesn’t work for devastation on a grand scale like has been suffered in the East.
After Katrina, in San Antonio people flooded the evacuation centers with clothes, etc. until the centers stopped accepting the donations as they did not have people or the space to sort it (discarding the dirty and crappy) and handle the dissemination. The centers and volunteer groups needed money, first and foremost.
Romney should have known this since he was a governor. Since he is so proud of how much money he has made, he should have pulled his wallet out and try to appear to be a good man, but that seems to be beyond his comprehension. He doesn’t care about anyone or anything other than his church, Mormons, his money and the very rich. He has a warped mind and is a lying, dangerous man.
