Another Republican in Texas Has in Hands in the Old Lady’s Purse

October 29, 2012 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

You know, I have often said that Republicans would steal a widow woman’s kindling.

I am not far from wrong.

Joe Anthony Foster Jr., a Republican who is running for the 394th State District Judge seat, is accused of mishandling an elderly woman’s funds.

According to the indictment, Foster mishandled between $100,000 and $200,000 over a four-year period.

Apparently, it’s spreading.  It’s West Texas this time in Brewster County.

And, apparently that whole “the less said …” thing is spreading.

Foster’s attorney, Mike Barclay of Alpine, said it was too premature to comment about the case when contacted this week.

The Democrat in the race was named Lawyer of the Year by the State Bar.

Thanks to Richard for the heads up.

  1. Corinne Sabo says:

Is ‘mishandled’ an euphemism for ‘steal’?

  2. Sometimes it just means they purposely “churned” the account so that they got a lot of fees for transactions while not adding any benefit to the account they are supposed to be growing. While technically legal, I think, it is highly unethical.

  3. I think you have to be caught stealing, lying or cheating – in order to be counted as a registered Republican.

  4. OK, all three of you have nailed it. This isn’t the first time I’ve read about somebody “wasting” an elderly person’s savings account. It doesn’t start smelling any better with each retelling.

  5. How can you dispage this Republican’t, “Little Old Lady” indeed. Surely given the opportunity He could prove adept at fleecing the poor, the lame, Widows, orphans and the feeble minded.

  6. First off, 100k is a lot of kindling. Second, I’d like to share an apology I made to another Texan;

” Sorry, I imputed to you the opinions of some of your more colorful fellow Texans. Who tho they may be legislators, couldn’t find common sense with a roadmap and magnifying glass.”

Do you think this was sufficient apology?

  7. The super sad thing is — in Brewster county, the crook will win because, and only because, he has an R after his name.

  8. I keep saying…. (R)obots.

Brewster County? Alpine elected an R mayor, but it was sort of a fluke. The Rs in county office stay in the closet, trying to pass as Ds… knowing the voters mostly are people with two shrines at home: one to la Virgen de Guadalupe and the other to Lyndon Baines Johnson.
