And Who Remembers Rose Mary Woods?

March 29, 2022 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

So, come to find out, seven hours are missing from Trump’s White House records on January 6th. Wow, he smashed Rose Mary Woods’ record all to hell and back. There were only 18 minutes missing on Nixon.

Internal White House records from the day of the attack on the U.S. Capitol that were turned over to the House select committee show a gap in President Donald Trump’s phone logs of seven hours and 37 minutes, including the period when the building was being violently assaulted, according to documents obtained by The Washington Post and CBS News.

So there’s all manner of thought on what the dickens happened because everybody knows he was on the phone the entire time trying to have Mike Pence, Nancy Pelosi, and every policeman on the property killed.

Someone suggested he used other folk’s phones or used a burner phone.  Trump says he doesn’t know anything about burner phones. That’s is not surprising being as how Trump doesn’t know anything about most things.

He claims not to have any idea why those records are missing and added that he doesn’t have anything to do with it.

Cover up?  Ya think?

  1. When Trump claims ignorance, I tend to believe him.

But the missing log entries certainly demonstrate knowledge of wrongdoing.

    1
  2. Read in several places he uses the phone of the person next to him all the time. Seems the need to get the phone records of all who were in his presence.

    2
  3. To be the crook he aspires to be needs a whole lot more intelligence than he obviously has.

    3
  4. With the timing of the missing records, it’s probably just a coincidence.

Good title for a Trump biography, A Life Of Privileged Coincidence.

    4
  5. He never understood the need burner phones.
    I mean please.
Why would somebody risk setting off the smoke alarms when everybody knows everything can be flushed down the toilet.

Just imagine if a Democrat did -any- of this crap..

The formal human-kept WH ‘phone logs’ might have been ‘disappeared’ [How blatant can it be before someone says ‘this is over the line’? Oh, wait, IOKIYAR..].
But the WH phone system itself [the switch or PBX], and the cellular systems serving the area, should have stored all connection activity.
Or just check with the Israeli or Russian embassies, they’ll even have the tapes and transcripts…

  8. Texas Expat in CA says:

Trump’s claim he’s never heard of burner phones has been contradicted already, by John Bolton:

“… former Trump national security adviser John Bolton now tells The Washington Post’s Robert Costa that he’s not buying Trump’s explanation… Bolton tells Costa that he recalls Trump discussing burner phones multiple times and being generally aware of what the devices are used for….
In fact, Bolton tells Costa that he remembers Trump talking about how people have used such phones to avoid having their calls scrutinized.”

  9. DaddyWasATexan says:

There are a ton of references about him grabbing other people’s phones instead of using his own. One that immediately springs to mind is when the Stormi Daniels story broke, and Melania refused to take his calls. So he grabbed a phone from one of his Secret Service guys, and she answered that.

John Bolton (of all people) is disputing Herr Trump’s claims and is saying there were several discussions of what burner phones were and what they were generally used for. And now Michael Cohen is claiming one of the J6 witnesses was given $400 to go buy burners from CVS. The cash provider wanted a receipt, and being the cheap bastards we know they are, provided their phone number so they could get the CVS Rewards points. So guess who has an accurate record of who bought the phones?

  10. Steve from Beaverton says:

Saying he has no idea why the 7 hours of communication records are gone is an admission that there were communications that were Rose Mary Wooded away. As was said by Crone above, everyone’s phone records need to be subpoenaed (and interviewed under oath Merrick Garland). Also, saying he doesn’t know what a burner phone is (and he was “president” and the smartest man on earth) means he was handed a burner phone to use. Period.
Hope someone throws the big orange buffoon under his bus (broken down jet).

DaddyWasATexan @8, Good catch: “…to go buy burners from CVS.”.
The news of the burner phones buy broke long ago, but these added details are most interesting.

  15. P.P. & Sandridge,
As the (apparent) resident experts on burner phones, question, backburner phones, real or myth? Are they for giving out a legit number and message to people you’re too busy to talk with?

  16. weakgrip says:

this makes him 23 times as corrupt as Nixon, which makes his two impeachments seem way too little.

    16
  17. Sandridge says:

Rick @15, Not sure what a “backburner phones” is.
But cheap ‘pay-as-you-go’/prepaid non-contract phones have been around decades, and are often called ‘burners’ [watch old cop shows like Law&Order].

I have had one prepay line for ~25years+, same number, costs me ~$10-30 per -year- for the few minutes that I use it– no data ; has a ‘good’ number so I keep it, could port it to another plan but it would cost 15-20x more/yr. [got my first cellular plan mobile Motorola brickphone in ~1984, ~$1400, and $300mo+/like $1+/minute].

A ‘burner’ can just refer to the millions of them used normally by many people as their main phones.
The phones can cost ~$10+- [cheap enough to throw away], come with a number, SIM, usage is bought various ways, usually by the minute monthly [phone cards in various $’s, online, etc., might have unlimited now].
Just a normal thing for many, predominantly lower income. Walmart, Tracphone, etc.
The same kind of plans can also have more expensive phones too, and be kept for years.

But used for nefarious purposes too, the real meaning of ‘burner’.
Unlike postpaid phone plans [contract], which require IDs, names address CC, etc.

Buy the phones and minutes with cash, anonymously, by minions [hide from the store cam].
Use it, then ditch it whenever. Untraceable usage [the calls/numbers can still be traced of course, but unless tied to someone, not too useful].

The Trump Crime Org MO; nothing to see here, move along.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prepaid_mobile_phone
“A prepaid phone number specifically purchased to be used briefly and then replaced is known colloquially as a burner phone or burner.[11]”

    17

AK Lynne @18, Not my wench. Just an ad on a nearby Nextdoor neighborhood, with pics.
Dude misspelled ‘winch’, as a bumper mounted truck winch. Looks like a good deal, $150 for a winch that’s probably $600+ brand new.
Might be a case of a forced downscaling due to rising gas prices. They all have to drive huge tricked-out F-2/350s/Rams, duallys even, to get to their city jobs. Then gas spikes up and their payments eat ’em alive. Same thing happened in previous economic cycles. They never learn.

It’s painful to read a lot of the posts there, you’d think that English was a foreign language. But then the county votes 80% Rethug.
And the schools continue to decline [heavy xtian religious influence, a school district VP accompanied her husband to the January 6 DC ‘peaceful tourist gathering’, etc]. Solid MAGAot RWNJ territory.

  25. His lying is so transparent that a five-year-old can see through it. The problem is that transparency has no weight in a court of law. And he’s been criming for so long that he knows how to avoid slipping up and incriminating himself.

We can only hope that someone close to him turns against him, just as he would turn against them if he felt a need to. If I were Junior or Ivanka, I’d be weighing my options right now.

  27. Steve from Beaverton says:

Read an opinion yesterday that the DOJ is concerned about the appearance of political motives if they go after trumpf and associates involved with the Jan 6 insurrection. So the DOJ now has their focus on Hunter Biden because a “flurry of witnesses” have come forward. Just out of the woodwork. Right. DOJ has this screwed up. Focusing on Hunter Biden is exactly what the right has been ratcheting up for the 2022 elections and to support their narrative about the election being stolen. Where did Merrick Garland come from politically? I think there’s at least a hint of right leaning in his DNA.

That’s a concern I have had since day. No doubt in my mind Trump and company are as guilty as sin. His long strong suit has always been positioning himself so nothing can be pinned on him. I suspect his siblings hated that Eddy Haskell part of his character. But what of his worshipping clones? If he is charged with anything they will go nuts. They will never be able to see the real DJT. AFA the missing phone records. It must be a ploy. There can’t be anybody dumb enough to think that would fly.

Several years ago I did a lot of merchandising at various stores. One job was all the Tracfones at the Dollar Generals in my area. I distinctly remember a warning coming down to the store managers that restricted sales to 2 phones per customer. This was in the boonier sections of southwest Virginia, and the concern was over drug dealers and other criminals.

will be interesting to see how many phone logs the 1/6 Committee has and what is omitted from the White House phone log. I know there is the phone call from Trump to Coach, er Senator Potatoville that was misdirected to Mike Lee’s phone #

    32
  33. Steve from Beaverton says:

Weak grip, Senator spudville must be James the roach risch. I remember him when I lived in Boise and he was just a corrupt county prosecutor. He could very well have been a missing phone call, too. He’s made it into the trumpf orbit.
I wonder how many repugnantican senators are missing from that 7 hour gap. Many.

    33
  34. Laurence Tribe had this to say on Twitter:

“Maybe too obvious, but it’s STUPID to keep saying ‘Prosecuting a former president is something we just don’t do.’

“The REASON we don’t is that former presidents haven’t launched insurrections or attempted criminal coups! That’s WHY there’s no precedent for prosecuting them. Duh.”

Exactly. Maybe DOJ’s working on this and we just don’t see it yet. As UC Berkeley law professor Teri Kanefield has pointed out – as soon as you file an indictment against someone, that someone can see all the evidence you have against them. DOJ prosecutors hate to lose in court, so they may – *may* – be keeping things close to their vests until they think they have a slam dunk case.

Then again, Garland simply might not have the stomach for it. I hope to hell he does.

Why hasn’t the Justice Department indicted Mark Meadows nearly four months after contempt vote?

“The House voted to hold Mark Meadows in contempt of Congress back in December. But the Justice Department has not yet taken action on that criminal referral, and members of the Jan. 6 select committee are getting irritated. The committee only has so much time to investigate a violent insurrection, given that it is a midterm election year, and yet the Justice Department, under Attorney General Merrick Garland, does not appear to consider this an urgent issue.

“It is important for the department to act and to act with alacrity for the principal reason that we’re trying to prevent another Jan. 6,” Rep. Adam Schiff told reporters on Tuesday. He added, “Those who push the big lie that led to violence continue to push that big lie. So we feel a sense of urgency and we hope the [DOJ] does also. To me, these cases … are pretty clear cut in that two of the witnesses simply refused to appear. So it shouldn’t be that difficult for the [DOJ] to act.” “

“During a hearing on Wednesday, Bellis told the court she is holding the conspiracy theory snake oil salesman in contempt of court as Jones has “intentionally failed to comply with orders of the court” and his excuses have not held up. “The court finds by clear and convincing evidence that the defendant Alex Jones willfully and in bad faith violated without justification several clear court orders requiring his attendance at his depositions on March 23 and March 24,” Bellis said, but she did not go as far as issuing a bench warrant for Jones’ arrest, though the plaintiffs in the case asked the judge to issue that arrest warrant.”
