Donald Trump

Donald Trump said Monday that he will reveal “very big” news about President Barack Obama by Wednesday but declined to give any hints about his plan, he said on “Fox & Friends.”

“Something very, very big concerning the president of the United States,” he said. “It’s going to be very big. I know one thing — you will cover it in a very big fashion.”

Big fashion?  Yep, only Fox and Friends will cover that.

I’m pretty sure that Donald’s news has something to do getting Donald more attention.  The Washington Post is having fun with this.

Thanks to Sam for the heads up.

Oh! Is he finally going to announce the findings of those investigators he sent to Hawaii about 18 months ago? The findings that the investigators “couldn’t believe they were finding”?

Even if Trump had something legit for a change, who would believe him? Correction – who with an IQ over 90 would believe him?

I guess my mom’s advice is more true than ever: consider the source. Trump has no credibility.

What a shame no one in his immediate family has staged an intervention for him to seek adequate mental health care. I guess no one cares enough – much as has been the case for Sarah Palin and all the other publicity whores in the GOP whose needs for attention are off the scale.

    2
  3. Donald Trump is the poster child for the need for mental health care.

He is also the poster child for “Do we really care any more what Donald Trump says”?

    Please Go Away. Mr. Trump.

  4. Sam in Kyle says:

Probably going to quote his “expert” source, Joe Arpaio. The next big announcement for Trump will be Reince Priebus appearing as a new entrant on Celebrity Apprentice.

    4
  5. Sam,

i think you got the ticket. Reince will be unemployed soon and we will no longer have to listen to his whiny insane rantings.

    Trump is simply insane.

That would describe the Faux News viewers – people with IQs lower than 90.

  7. Some people think that thing on Trump’s head is alive. If so, it’s the only living thing above his shoulders.

    7
  8. This is just a coincidence that the timing of this is Wednesday which is the same day that they are reporting that Gloria A. will have some (not good) news about Mitt??
I think not, they are getting prepared for some mud slinging.

    8
  9. How does he make money? Just wondering……

    9
  10. Norma, Trump makes money because he started out with a lot of money. Much like Romney.

    10
  11. As if any of you needed a further reason to loathe him, if any of you get a chance, I urge you to watch Anthony Baxter’s documentary file “You’ve Been Trumped” about The Donald’s activities here in Scotland. I’m quite happy to vouch for the film’s accuracy, I’m an ex-pat now living in Scotland and this has been happening almost on my doorstep. Trump is a sociopathic egomaniacal scumbag who gets away with acting as if the rules don’t apply to him because he is able to sell politicians visions of his money, and some of the locals have been paying a very real price for that here.

  12. SomedayGirl says:

Norma, he’s declared bankruptcy like three times so I’d say he makes it by conning people.

    12
  13. And the Great Spaghetti Monster strikes again! I used to ignore all this stuff but it seems, once again, for both cases no matter the revelations, we are being diverted and made fools of and none of it will make a difference in the long run. October surprises! Oh sweet Mother of God.
Hoping tonight’s debate will be well moderated and somewhat substantive. But that, too, will make very little difference now.
Counting the days when we can all return to some kind of normalcy. Yeah, I guess I do sound a little weary, ya’ think.

    13
  14. ah thank you ladies. I knew he was in real estate but with all the stupid things he says……inherited and conning make sense but who trusts someone that’s filed bankruptcy more than once? you’ll have to forgive me lack of sleep makes me slow.

Norma, this is just my understanding of what Mitt does, but as LynnN said, Mitt started out wealthy and, much like George W. Bush, used his father’s wealth and contacts to make more money.

Trump’s dad was also wealthy. Trump’s real estate investments have not been as consistently successful (see several bankruptcies), but he can trade on his father’s success much like Mitt and George W. Trump also trades on celebrity hype. He seems to be the consummate snake oil salesman as regards his own talents and worth.

I think Mitt takes after Trump more close than he does his own deceased father, George Romney. He certainly seems to have feathered his bed with the same low ethical standards that Trump has embraced. Both value money and the power it represents more than morality and compassion.

As I understand it, Bain Capital uses leveraged buy-outs of companies (with a bare minimum of investment capital as a down payment – usually five percent of less) that are doing okay but struggling. Using that very small down payment, it gets loans to cover the actual or potential value of the company. It requires the company to pay it management fees while it sets out to maximize profits for itself (the investors in Bain and its own management) by either selling off assets, cutting employees or other means.
The owners and executives or primary stockholders of the companies Bain take over are usually well compensated for their part in the shenanigans. Everyone seems more interested in their own welfare than the welfare of the firm or its employes, or the communities where they are located. Me, me, me – that’s the tune I think they hum while setting these schemes up – but that’s just my opinion.

Sometimes it works (see the touted Staples success – which, if you have ever been in one of their stores you know how barely-staffed those stores are) and sometimes it doesn’t. If it requires out-sourcing jobs overseas, so be it. Bain is in it for the money, not the development of the company or the communities where a company is located.

Leveraged buy-outs, as I understand it, are all about debt. Bain uses loans to take over companies, then drains what it can as fast as it can to maximize its own bottom-line. The companies that cannot survive are usually taken down because of over-whelming loan debt that Bain has created for it and the high management fees Bain requires.

Bain is all about leveraging debt to create profit for its investors, not the companies it takes over or manages. Remember, Bain Capitol is an investment firm, not a job-creating firm. Mitt, unlike his father, is all about making a fast buck. His father used his auto firm to make profits, sure, but he also seemed to care about create strong communities at the local and state areas where his workers were. This is a case of Mitt being the polar opposite of his father.

Of course, I am not an economist, so if I have misrepresented something due to my ignorance of how firms like Bain Capitol work, I apologize.

I am seriously worried that if the American voters are flimflammed into selling out to smooth-talking, smiling ole Mitt, we will find our country’s economy being dismantled for the sake of profits of Romney and GOP underwriters. I fear we are not seen as investors in his personal glory. His script seems all about ensuring good fortune for himself and his cronies. Not even clients such as pension funds seem to reap the benefits he and his do.

Trump cannot stay loyal to any woman for long. Romney cannot stay loyal to basic ethics for long. Both seem dedicated to the thrill of the fast buck, the big flash, and the shiny goal. The long-haul, workaday plan with the good of their fellow man (or woman) is not for them.

Donald Trump woke up today and realized that no one had paid him ANY attention for over a WEEK now.

Tomorrow, look for Caribou Barbie say something stupid to remind everyone that SHE’S still alive, too.

In both cases, though, the EEG flatlined a couple of decades back.

  17. “Something very, very big concerning the president of the United States,” he said. “It’s going to be very big. I know one thing — you will cover it in a very big fashion.”

Reminds me of a little kid on the playground– “Look, look what I’m doin’, look, Mom, hey, look– LOOK!”

    17
  18. It is hard to feel any optimism for American when it is perfectly obvious that a large percentage of the voting public behave in ways that could be characterized as greedy, crude, and mendacious, from billionaires like Trump and Rmoney right down to those clinging to their guns and pseudo-religion that Jesus himself wouldn’t recognize.

    18
  19. At the rate Joe Arpaio is imploding in the polls, he can use all the help he can get! Actually, I hope Trump does involve him. That will be a nice big shovel full of dirt on his political coffin.

  26. He tweeted something about Obama shouldn’t get credit for OBL’s death, that it should be the Navy Seals. I’m in a military family, so obviously they get the credit too. But what I’ve been wanting to ask is this… Why then did Carter get all the blame for the failed mission in Iran? It seems like they’re trying to have it both ways. Something I’ve always wondered about.

    26
  27. Oh yeah it’s huge – not news of course but huge cause look who else he called straight from TMZ.COM

“Donald Trump has made it clear … the information he has concerning the President of the United States is HUUUUGE … and he tells TMZ he’s going to reveal the info on Wednesday.

Trump just called in to “TMZ Live” and told us the information is nothing short of “a big fact.”

When asked if his secret will make Obama happy – Trump replied, “I don’t wanna comment … that’s up to him.”

Earlier this morning, Trump described his information to “Fox & Friends” … saying it’s “something very, very big concerning the president of the United States … It’s going to be very big. I know one thing — you will cover it in a very big fashion.”
