I am honored and privileged to know Miss Juanita Jean Herownself, hairdresser extraordinary and political maven. Since she does not have time to fiddle with this internet stuff, I type her website for her and you can read it if you want to. If you don't, she truly does not give a big bear's butt.
A lot of what I post here has to do with local politics, but you probably have the same folks in your local government.
This ain't a blog. Blogs are way too trendy for me. This is a professional political organization.
A bunch of middle aged white folks rioting to celebrate white privilege. Hell of a concept, proud racists. Now they’re threatening to whack-a-doodle on news media ‘lying’ about them. Most of the reporting has been from the rioters’ own videos and selfies or screenshots of their social media pages.
Uh, back to you, Ms. Juanita Jean Herownself. This new ‘definition’ of lying requires an expert and specialist like yourself to unpack that whiplash into Quackerville.

3Jenna Ryan is one of the few attackers whose videos I watched who didn’t just make me angry, but angry enough to wish I was still young enough to take her on. Not to kill her (taking someone on is an inefficient way to kill them, if killing’s what you have in mind) but to,in the old phrase “teach her a lesson she won’t forget in a hurry.”
Her mixture of gleeful willingness as she anticipated hurting others and sudden terror that a group of plainly dressed people hovering in the curb waiting for the light to change might be THEM, the awful-scary-Black people (she had “a bad feeling” about every person not in Trumpist attire that she saw.) Her ignorance of the basics of Washington, D.C….someone had to tell her that the Treasury Building wasn’t the White House (which for a real estate broker proves no talent at all for observing architecture.) It was like a naughty five year old and a junior high Mean Girl and a smug sorority girl were incompletely mixed with an ignorant hick from a small town…she would go from expressing awe at seeing things in real life she’d seen on TV to praising herself to awe at Trump-and-God to contempt talking of the media and anyone who wasn’t a Trumpist…each a few seconds long and cycling around and around over the same actions. She stopped to buy from a Trump merch guy with a box he was unpacking…instantly changing into a sorority girl at a game buying a hat or flag or some other cheap merch to wave.
Everything was about her, even when she was praising Trump…the naughty five year old was glorying in being naughty and the grownups couldn’t stop her, the junior high Mean Girl was glorying in plotting against her enemy, the sorority girl who just learned how to swear was potty-mouthing about Dems and liberals, and then the cheap-grace “Christian” would throw in a few lines of praising God and stamping Satan under her feet, and so on. We’re all the protagonists of our own internal dialogues, sure–I get all the good lines, inside my head–but there was no sense of a solid adult identity in much of it. And the entitlement…ye gods. Which is why I wanted so much to smack her until she shut up and listened, and used whatever neuronal net she’s got. Which wouldn’t work, of course, even if I weren’t old and so incapable now that I’m forced me to sit, not even on the bench but at home watching on video.
4My daughter lives in Mo Brook’s district. She is one of thousands writing to him to resign. She lives cheek by jowl with Huntsville which has been known for many years as the home of all the engineers and scientists involved with the Arsenal. In other words, the majority of her neighbors like herself were transferred from the North to work in the south. Mo Brooks behavior is a constant reminder that she is still surrounded to an unacceptable degree by wingnuts who pack their pick-ups with weapons, ammo, molotov cocktails etc. These wingnuts are not sleeping under bridges! In short, they have it pretty good and all because of things like socialism (social security) etc. that they hate.
I live 16 miles from where Hell broke loose on last Wednesday and I am surrounded by government employees, den mothers, retirees and people who pretty much have to work two jobs in order to pay county real estate taxes let alone try to buy food that keeps getting more and more expensive each week since the pandemic started. I am also just a stone’s throw away from one of the largest military reservations in the country. Since the pandemic started I work a patchwork of hours at an actual office. I will not be working on Inauguration Day. I wouldn’t mind working that day inasmuch as the money would come in handy, but safety and security comes first, especially for the country.
5What I find the most dismaying in this whole episode is that so many people–i.e. old, white people–don’t seem to know how the government works. How did that happen? I had to take and pass at least two Government classes when I was in High School. How did those people get out of that?
6Agreeing with BarbinDC @6–I’d bet real money that NONE of the despicables who defiled the Capitol could pass the exam that the immigrants they despise need to pass to become U.S. citizens.
7Apparently she’s not a Python fan. She had the perfect opportunity to be led away in handcuffs while yelling “Help, Help I’m being repressed! Come and see the violence inherent in the system!” and she blew it.

How is it possible that we got to maximum Karen. Is there a cloning facility? How do we make them go away? Would sensitivity training or re-education camps help? When does reality infringe on their god given right to smug superiority? I don’t get it, but then I’ve always believed that we are a stronger country when we work towards a common purpose…
9The only business Trumpf is busy doing is working on pardons.
10I wonder how senate repugnanticans will react to pardons for insurrectionists? Also, will they like his pardons for his crime family which will happen. Word is he’s planning on announcing 1 last pardon on 1/20, perhaps at his self-aggrandizing ceremony at Edwards AF base before he takes AF 1 to mar a lalalago land. Expect it will be his own pardon. Don’t believe he can pardon himself out of impeachment.
The twice impeached fu king moron wants red carpet and a 21 gun salute for his departure from Joint Base Andrews. He’ll be lucky if he isn’t chased out of the hangar by angry military wives bearing ‘gifts’ of shoo-fly pies.

12This video needs a little set up: It’s a production done by a couple of NYC guys who make comedic videos. They had the bight idea of going to the “Stop the Steal” rally in DC to do a “Sacha Baron Cohen”.

What they got was a very, very scary documentary of the CRAZY that tried to end our Republic. It’s kind of long ~40 min, but I urge you to put it on your largest screen and watch it till the end. These guys were truly freaked out, and we should share their discomfit. We should observe just how many people were there, they show that the numbers at the Capitol Building are a tiny fraction of the total better than even “The Circus” in their season opener^ (I HIGHLY recommend it). Both come close to a “real time” narrative that I was hoping for. Both should shock us to action…

15That woman is from the Dallas area. I looked her up to see who her broker is and found that she is her own broker. Matters not – can’t have a felony and keep your license. Also can’t vote or own a firearm. Lost her book deal. Whoops! Don’t know how she will be able to afford that jet – and she’ll be on the no-fly list for commercial airlines.

17The street legal monster truck driving Trump supporters are now breathing their own rarefied exhaust fumes according to the latest (final?) approval poll. Trump did it, he broke the 20’s, he ends his administration with a 29% approval rating. Even with suspension lifters so the kids need a ladder to climb into the cab, they’ve finally bottomed out.

Crowd estimations are difficult, at best. But even at the organizers’ high numbers, the guess is
* 30,000 rallied near the White House.
The remainder of the day is even more chaotic, but I’ve seen guesses:
* 6,000 or so marched down to the Capitol
* 1-2,000 may have been inside the Capitol at some point.
* Perhaps half of those who went in looked around for a while and went back out without aggression or violence.
Today’s FBI guesses & numbers:
* More than 140,000 pieces of digital media have been obtained by the FBI.
* “Over 250” identified. FBI opened up 275 cases.
* “more than 100” arrests made. Over half are already on felony charges. Others may have felony charges added as the investigations continue.
And, when arrested — “We’re not cutting deals with anyone. Even if people are self-reporting, they will be held accountable,” DC US Attorney Michael Sherwin said.

20I’m with Elizabeth Moon. There are few people I’d enjoy slapping some sense into, but Jenna Ryan is one of them. She can stuff that pardon from Trump where the sun don’t shine, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she gets one. Trump seems to be trying to wreck everything still standing, before he leaves.

Here’s what to expect for Trumpf’s sendoff for himself. Just what you’d expect from the World’s most grandiose narcissistic authoritarian wannabe. Speaking of another person it’s a mercy I will never see face to face, because even an old woman with no throwing skills (who has never had throwing skills*) can manage hitting a target like that with a cream pie.
* Using both hands, I can just barely throw a flake of hay over a 5 foot fence with the wind behind me. With my left arm, it hits the top and turns into a shower of hay fragments and the horses look at me like “How did we end up with this incompetent person in charge of our food supply?” I’ve explained to them it’s shoulder damage from one thing and another but their understanding of English is limited to things like “No, whoa, gee, haw, walk on, haytime!, suppertime!,” and their nicknames. They should know a few more but they forget “Stoppit, foot! [lift foot], go stall, open [open mouth],” and the longer form of their names.

28It seems that civics classes kind of faded away some time after WWII. They got replaced with American history classes which were supposed to cover most of the material from Civics classes.
