Alex Jones Update
Juanita Jean Herownself promised all y’all an update on Alex Jones. When she shared her treasure trove of Toons with me, she asked me to share this news. Also to let you know that she’s recovering well from her latest excursion to the medical establishment, but it’s hard for her to do a lot of computer work from the comfort of her new recliner. Plus, there’s spring season baseball to keep up with in preparation for the 2024 season. You know her and baseball, so we’ll all cut her some slack. I’m inserting some photos to enhance your experience and share her joy (and immense pride).
Here’s where it stands. After a prolonged and fairly serious medical event, JJ luckily recovered enough to go see the premiere of Dan Reed’s HBO documentary about the Alex Jones trials at SXSW (South By Southwest). Since bluebonnets are in bloom early this year, it was an enchanting drive to Austin and the weather was perfect. Special thanks to Thelma for hauling her and all her ‘stuff’ safely to Austin and back.

As could be expected from Alex Jones fans, there was a bomb threat called in right before the event but that did not curb anyone’s enthusiasm. Mark and Judge Maya Guerra Gamble got a standing ovation!

After the event, Mark and his partner Bill Ogden enjoy a picnic lunch with close friends.
.JJ wants you all to know “I am feeling well, but I take life a little slower. More baseball and movies than CNN. It’s good and Ben is one inch shorter than I am. I told him he could quit eating because he’s plenty big.”

1I don’t read this blog real often, as I follow two others on a daily basis, plus I must give time to domestic chores and watching PBS and the Chicago franchise. Thus, I did not know JJ was indisposed, so I am glad to read she is on the mend and I admire the lovely new recliner! Hope she is enjoying baseball and the chair, and hope also she can spare a thought for our poor family, eternally loyal to the Cubs, so very futilely…Anyhow, thanks for the information about JJ! 10Very glad JJ was able to make the trip to Austin and bask in some of Lil’ Bubba’s fame. He should have gotten her that chair–he’s busy suing Elon Musk these days–and getting paid won’t be nearly as much of a problem as it is getting Jones to fork over what he owes.
Funny, but I was listening to my Nats beat Miami in a ST game while reclining in my own (not nearly as nifty as JJ’s) chair this afternoon. Really weird, but beautiful, 75 degree weather here in DC. The cherry blossoms are getting ready to pop a little early this year and I was prompted to start cleaning up my garden and thinking about rearranging everything. My hydrangeas need repotting.

And for something to watch early this morning, try a Starship launch that is happening this morning, from Boca Chica Beach* in Deep South Texas!
This should be awesome! The most powerful rocket yet flown, this launch should fire all 33 booster engines. This is an unmanned test flight, the previous two tests ended in ‘constructive’ RUDs [self-destruction], hopefully this will do better.
Liftoff scheduled from 0700 CDT, window lasts until noon or so.

* I used to wadefish Boca Chica. And sailed off of it from SPI down to the Rio Grande River, back in the ’70-80s. Sometimes hunted the flats too.

Glad Mark ripped into him. Wish A Rogers would also get sued. A most obnoxious sports celebrity may be Jr RFK’s running mate because besides denying the truth about Sandy Hook, he was a Covid denier and anti vaccine mouthpiece. Perfect fit to be Jr’s running mate.
