Actually, Truth Be Known, Canada is Renouncing Him
Ted Cruz, the man who jumped on the birther idiocy like a goat on clover, is finally getting around to renouncing his Canadian citizenship. Cruz says it’s just a technical issue. You know, like you can be technically pregnant without being actually pregnant. Or just technically dumb.
Ted assures us that he has nothing against Canada, but he’s unclear if Canada doesn’t have anything against him.
It all boils down to where Cruz’s mother was born and, of course, whether she was just technically pregnant with him. Where is Donald Trump when you really need him?
Personally, I think I could build a pretty damn good case that he’s a terror baby.
Maybe he’s dragging his feet on this issue because he wants to hang onto that good Canadian health insurance.

6I say he needs to prove he really is an American. Did his parents fill out the proper paper work. After all his dad could care less about becoming a citizen until he had lived here for almost fifty years. If king teddy is not a USA citizen he’s not qualified to be a senator and we could get rid of him today. As it is he has almost 5 more years to damage this country. The only reason he wanted the job is because he is so grandiose he thinks he will be president. Kind of hard to do when your so ugly inside and out.
7I want to see his birth certificate, his mother’s birth certificate, and proof that he’s a human, not an android sent here by the Evil Overlord Corporation of Beta Centauri !V. I would prefer a video of his birth, certified and authenticated by the certifiers and authenticaters of my choice, with a continuous video record from then to now, to prove that he is, in fact, of human origin and that the baby in Video 1 actually did grow into the….being standing there bragging about being an American by birth.
Which is a damn lie, because he was born in Calgary. He’s a _Canadian_ by birth, though he may be an American by inheritance…IF I see his mother’s birth certificate and satisfy myself it’s not a fake, and if I am convinced by solid evidence that a) he was born to that woman and not switched in the hospital and b) he’s not an alien android construct. It will be scrutinized with the same intensity the birthers used on Obama’s. I don’t usually have a beady eye in place, but I have some in storage that I can insert for this task.
And by the way, there is nothing in the Constitution saying specifically that a man born in a foreign country and inheriting two citizenships can, by renouncing one of them, become qualified to be President. That specific situation is not mentioned, and if it’s not mentioned, then it’s not Constitutional (according to the same enthusiasts who think freedom of religion means you can claim to be wounded in your religious freedom if you can’t bash gays.)

Got me to thinking … if you really want a terrorist baby, just consider the result were he and Sarah to get it on together. Fortunately, at age 49 it’s likely that the Queen of Wasilla is post-menopausal. Otherwise you’d have an heir that would make the Spawn of Satan look like Mary Poppins.

12Born here, bred largely in Canada with my cousins. I can’t wait to see how this turns out. Always wanted to know if Momma Cruz became a Canadian citizen when her husband did the deed. I would think it kind of unusual, however you want to interpret that, if she did not. Maybe she was saving a slim thread to use if she ever had to hot foot it home. My bet is that her husband being the domineering Dominionist that he is would have insisted that she also become a Canadian citizen. I would hope/urge somebody somewhere to really, really do deep research on this. Now I gotta go wash my hands and scrub my teeth. I just feel that way every time I discuss anything about the Cruz-er.

Like Maggie, I think it would be interesting to discover if Mother Cruz denounced her American citizenship, when she married Domineering Cruz. If she did, Rafael Gohmert Cruz is not an American citizen. Please Marge, tell us he isn’t.

16Cruz shouldn’t be burning that Canadian bridge behind him. He may need to seek asylum there when the Americans decide to prosecute him for the billions he wasted on the government shutdown. Tar and feathers, anyone?

18Cruz has to prove to the Canadian government that he is a legitimate citizen of another country, or can become one, because most governments won’t allow renouncing citizenship and making a person “stateless.” So he has to show that his mother was an American. To further explain:
Under that provision, Cruz only qualifies for American citizenship if his mother was “physically present” in the United States for 10 years prior to his birth, five of which had to be after she reached the age of 14. The only definitive way to prove Eleanor Cruz’s 10 years of physical presence would be with documents such as leases, school registration, utility bills or tax records.

However, he may not have to go to such lengths to be eligible to run for president. I’m not a legal scholar so I don’t quite understand it all, but I do know that Cruz has a bit of a problem.

25I wonder if Ted Cruz is also a Cuban citizen, considering his father was a Cuban citizen when he was born.
26From what I’ve read, for Cruz hijo to have Cuban citizenship, Cruz padre would have had to gone to the Cuban consulate soon after the birth to claim citizenship. Given that papa was on the outs with the Castro government, that probably didn’t happen.

28Even though Cruz is a Texas senator, we have all seen how his asinine behavior negatively affects the whole nation. It is in the best interest of this country to get him out of the Senate, if not out of the continental USA. I hear there are some open beds at Guantanamo.
